  1. Here's a classic example, the two dogs in the picture as I've said before are litter brothers, the one on the right was a natural from day one. He's always had the magic ingredient, he put digs right where others had failed in his first season, the other dog entered but always seemed lacking. He'd make a meal of digging on, if he dug on at all, he'd engage his quarry and then back off by six foot ! He never came away but I knew what he was doing. I'd had four or five digs with him, all successful but I always came away with more questions than answers, I had that little devil growing on my sho

  2. Ten foot dig to the dog, it was either his fifth or sixth dig..........he stayed till dug to and he never looked back. Edited to say, the three strikes and you're out crowd would of never got to that stage, sometimes it pays to wait and let the dog mature.

  7. I think lurcherlad94 is selling the dog, a 1st x bullx I believe. Retrieves sheep single handed, and will drag you wherever IT wants to go, for as long as it feels like. I think he's either asking £750, or a cheap ish car, or an x box 1 and two pork pies for it. Seems a steal to me ? ?

  9. You just answered the question i was going to ask when all things are equal i class ease of entering as the tipping point , line breeding is the doubling , quadrupling ext of traits within the blood i've had two bitches over the years which took there time to start but became good workers i gave both away as i wasn't going to breed from them because they took nearly 30 months to start and another 12 months to really get it together, no good to me i keep a small kennel but its a trait that's in there and not something i want to encourage by breeding directly from them ... anyone daft enoug

  10. I think we're all singing from the same hymn sheet, we're just expressing it differently, I'll give them far more time than most, just because I've seen it pay off before. There's definitely a time when you've got to admit to yourself that the terrier just hasn't got it, the only thing I won't tolerate is cowardice, IMO there's no coming back from it, the rest is just education.

  17. King not a dig buddy but you keep calling his dog a jacker if you work enough to teeth sooner or later you will get one that doesn't fancy it wether that's that certain night or in general I have seen many that I would class as dogs that could take fox (sometimes jacking ) to what I would class as a fox dog to totally different dogs but what I don't like is how folk slag a man's dog of when they don't feed it or clean it seen it many times over the years and truth be told I have never seen a dog run you couldn't pick fault with

  21. I gave up overthinking and analysing terrier work years ago simply because one day your digging to ur dog you've bred thinking its a goodun then your 5 feet down you look up and it's staring down at you?????? I stick to the basics now and what the dogs have taught me over the years ( which is more than any dogman has ).

  22. They're both from the same blood so in theory it shouldn't matter but again it's just my opinion, without breeding in the spite and drive you'll quickly lose it, so I'd breed from the harder of the two and hope to God to get the sensible one out of the litter.

  29. I just use the orange rubber type gloves, all my lads love em as they fit snug and can still get some feel with them, don’t last very long but I buy a huge box and they work out about 30p a pair so even if they use a couple pairs a day it’s no show stopper.

  33. Probably the most sensible thing I’ve heard on the internet ? take a young dog to a live set on his own no other dogs people or distractions and you will learn a whole lot from them especially the type I keep are a little bit highly strung and it doesn’t take much to break there chain of thought of the matter in hand

  37. For an amateur terrier lad it’s a pretty simple scenario, ignore the big mouth macho men who had a dog from this line and that line and it was shit blah blah blah and instead watch the man that sticks with his own line, always has digging dogs and just gets on with the job and copy what he does. It’s so simple.

  38. I had a blood test and my cholesterol was 4.8.... 5 is considered good. The quack said he wanted me down around 3 and he put me on 10mg of a statin. You can have a reaction and I did have a condition arise called. ... creatine kinase (CK). This is a condition where there is a lot of muscle pain and is similar to the body being crushed. This can release toxins into the body and cause all sorts of side effects. It isn't pleasant. The thing is that doctors are paid ( I believe ) to prescribe these drugs to reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks and that is why they are so keen to issue t

  41. Smug c**t and sturgeon should resign aswell for the 5 meetings she had with him and denied she discussed the case. If that had been the opposition she would demand it. Im awaiting the conspiracy from the rabid nationalists claiming it's a set up. And to think they donated thousands to his crowd funding to a millionaire to fight his case. Just goes to show the mentality of them.

  42. Had my first night out at last after waiting about 5 months to get the ground cleared where I live to control the fox numbers for my mate who rents the land to graze his sheep and he lost a lot of lambs last year. To say it’s crawling with foxes is an understatement! I pulled up and straight away there was a fox wandering up behind me. Boom after 2 minutes first fox down! Put rabbit distress on the caller and had two running in. the first was eighty yards, the second was 200, both dropped on the spot. Turned the caller off. Gave it 10 minutes and I saw another two in the distance. Turned
