Few places near me have burst the banks again. Dogs have loved it though. Terrier loves the water. The badger set I've mentioned in past has flooded. But its bolt hole is right on river bank. So waters gushing off the fields through its entrance then kicking out on river side. Shite for the black an white fellas. But ideal for land owner who i know because its coming off the fields down the dyke through the set an back into river. So no digging needs in fields to get it back into the river.

She sent me home with some leftover curry goat she had in the fridge and some breaded prawns with chilli and onions she had left so that's ended up on the plate with the oxtail and rice n peas.Thats left me with enough oxtail and rice for another feed tomorrow.

I’ve no doubt that saluki hybrids ARE the best coursing dogs out there. It’s what they’ve been selectively bred for. But that doesn’t mean other types can’t do the job. Here in the north east Deerhound blooded dogs were doing the job before the saluki types came along. There's a lot to be said for a simple natural life. The older I'm getting the more I've realised that's all I want.

I'm not just talking about coursing I'm talking about any man with a dog that runs the land after quarry. Some Lads are getting tugged for hunting day an night rabbiting. One of lads on here had his lamps taken off him lamping up near A64 towards York. A won't say his name. Was on some land he had permission on. He got the lamps back but took him a good few months to chase it up. The copper who nicked him didn't want to give him the lamps back.

Water and coffee , drank far too ofter the last 10 years and its became a daily bad habit. Few cans every night with the occasional piss up. Decided its time for a break. Day 17 and the cravings have just about subsided......I think. The temptation is still there.

Dave and me, were pals,...and occasional business partners... Back in the day,...I was dealt a bit of a blow,... Dave helped me out, and probably saved the day. He loved having the craic, and was always amused by my silly tales and crazy anecdotes,...we had some good old times... I believe his legacy and writings about the terrier world, will live on....
