Been out this morning with dogs. Terrier was on tiptoes with the scent in the air wind still up. Ended up knocking a few bunnies out of some think blackberry cover. The wind had knocked the cover about so they didn't want to move about in the cover. Shying off Straight down the warrens. Shame we didn't have a bird of prey would have nailed them. Some great pics of her using her nose on this grassed area where she end up getting on the scent in the air leading her straight into the blackberry cover just off the photos. Alot of covers been knocked about with this wind so not too dense anymore.

The Lurcher man or woman is definitely being discriminated against. So if your on permission with a Lurcher and you shoot or legally net a hare there’s a good chance of losing your dog if some one sticks there nose in. Just not right. How on earth can you be caught ?? Our farm , in the Borders, could take a hundred guys rabbitting and you’d never see them. We had guys coming down from the capitol shooting deer and we only knew they were there when we heard a shot. We had a wee burn running down from the local reservoir and guys would be trouting on a regular basis without any problem. We had a salmon run up the same water and my brother and I would be on it night and day. My point being. Keep out of the way, keep your head down and enjoy what is, after all, a country pursuit. Jok.

Another 3 today.. 2 made it threw the nets and 1 I broke its neck a tossed it down looked dead to me got up and ran minute later. No make that mistake again. Could have been doing with a long net missed a good few burrows because of over growth was loosing rabbits there too. Need to look out long nets now.

If memory serves correctly at the age of 50 (I could have the age wrong) he came to the conclusion that too much time had been spent not following hounds or working terriers and so made changes. I respect that. I'm not pretending that I knew him, just enjoyed his writing and exchanged a couple of emails.

Good post. Fury could have been deducted points on a few occasions for holding and hitting. Usyk is the best technical heavyweight I've ever seen. No wonder he has the beating of the current crop of heavyweights. None come even close to him in ability. It would be fascinating to have seen Usyk up against Ali, Holyfield or Lewis. They had a fluidity or power of punch which I think Usyk would have struggled with.
