Been thinking of another bike recently but didn't want anything too quick or heavy, didn't want to spend a bomb on insurance either so I started looking at Royal Enfields. Found this one, 1 year old, loads of extras, luggage and heated grips, 2 years warranty left and fsh. Pick up at the weekend!9 points

Good that. “Only fish ladder in the UK with a window” so hasn’t heard of the one that’s been at Pitlochry for decades. Seen a few salmon, trout and eels at Pitlochry…, no sturgeons or otters yet! It also has a fish counter which keeps an annual tally of the number of salmon which run up it.5 points

Well this morning thought I'd have ago at knocking some squirrels over with catty work rained off . Managed to knock one over with a good head shot got terrier to retrieve it to hand. Clever little terrier this one. Stayed at my side till a took the shot then soon as she hears catty go she's in. It's funny to watch she loves it.5 points

Rose had her pups yesterday,we have 8 of the little blighters,6 dog's & 2 bitches..was a stressful day for both Rose & I that's for sure haha. She was so stressed & unrestful it wasn't a pleasant watch & or experience for her,she removed all her bedding & decided to have her pups on the bare wood of her kennel bottom, not exactly what one would ideally want but that was her choice. I had to switch off the heating & heat lamp as she was so warm,at one point she even went to have her pups on the concrete floor where it was cooler..anyways after having them I got her bed cl5 points

Sadly on going into see Rose & the puppies this morning one of the two bitches had died at some point through the night. Since I started out with dog's I've only bred a few litters of pups & in those litters I'd never lost a single puppy but I've unfortunately lost two within hour's in this litter. It's quite gut wrenching to be honest, poor thing's could of had a great life in front of them, alas not & I guess it is what it is. The remaining pups all seem to be looking great & feeding fantastically well as they approach their first 24 hours of life, hopefully we have no more set4 points

I agree with the “stop making them so welcome” but I think that even transcends government…..it’s something that can be done at an everyday level. You will remember the old saying “Don’t know em, don’t want to know em” ……well I still think that’s relevant. I don’t think it means screaming obscenities in someone face or letting yourself run out of petrol because you won’t use the garage…..that’s just ludicrous imho, of course you will have daily interactions with blacks of all descriptions but you don’t have to go out of your way to do it as some do and you can discourage it in the y3 points

They've already gone through a shit load of countries who could stop them by the time they've reached the channel..... how is that our fault ? What is our fault is making them so welcome....ive said it for years, reverse the incentives that bring them here in the first place and the channel will soon be clear.3 points

I think the honest answer is that if you are an old boy like me and have followed a top fight team all your life, then no, your experience and everything you loved about football probably hasn’t improved……but unfortunately that’s the way it is, for the club it’s keep up or die. I think if you are a football fan, as in, you just genuinely like going to a match, the smell of the grass, a cup of bovril and a bit of real old school stuff then there is still plenty of that out there…..in fact I know there is, blokes you can relate to, you know, market trader in the week, mid field power house3 points

Remember seeing similar at Pitlochry some year's ago though it was the wrong time of year for the salmon run. I find things like this fascinating tbh.3 points

Same mack ...when I was in scouts we used to have a two week camp at Loch Tummel just down the road...we went to the salmon ladder a few times...we were always lucky to be camping in the 6 week holiday so they were running2 points

I went to the pitlochry window twice as a kid, magical place back then, the window has been closed for a number of years nowadays, salmon running upstream and jumping rapids or man made fish ladders are one of nature's great migration spectacles.2 points

Comparing era's in sport is always a difficult thing to do theres just so many if's and but's to consider....i always like to think that the great sportsmen of any era could still do their thing talent wise in the modern era but attitude wise i doubt someone like George Best would even have made it as a pro in todays times.....even the likes of Tony Adams,Merson etc just wouldnt get away with carrying an addiction i remember Matt Etherington at the Hammers years back the club loaned him a substantial sum of money to cover a gambling debt well that just wouldnt happen in elite sport today.2 points

Thanks Phil..no doubt whichever it is that remains here will outlive me but I'm sure my lads will carry the blood of these dog's forward for many year's to come..Rose looks like she's found the one she likes the best already, she will pick it up gently & lay it by her face & or neck as soon as it's been fed, favouritism at it's best Phil2 points

Bacon joints cured and vacuum packed. Some back bacon, one belly. Cured in either normal or hickory smoked. One the butcher had left as a joint so I've had skin off that for crackling and taken some of the fat off another for rendering down. Keep turning it now each day until the weekend then time to get some in the smoker and slice and pack it all.2 points

so just got back from the last trip this year to the naze.something was missing this time around only got 121 in 3 days.spoke to plenty of other people about the lack of finds this year and was just unlucky apparently.did manage to find a partial mackeral sharks tooth again that was the top predator of the time and about 9m so no small fishy.many fellow hunters were shocked at how many apart from one fella called "sharky" who is the local guy who puts my record of 95 in one day to shame with 500.this guy told me you can tell if the shark was male or female and the one small black one was actua2 points

Facts are,....If you seriously work a genuine hunting/mouching style whippet,...it will inevitably hit a few, bits and pieces.... Back in the day,...I was privileged to own, breed and work,.. quite a few of these diminutive Rabbiters,.,.. I also Judged hundreds at the various country shows that were so much in vogue, at that time. Some of them were so scarred up , that their svelte, silky coats resembled a road map of the British Isles.... Disregarding the obvious attributes of physique and correct conformation,....I never took ANY notice of marks gained through their2 points

Some fair points made. I should add that the although he's apparently made of paper the whippets skin heals incredibly quickly and even the one injury that needed professional stitching, it's barely visible a season on. The niggles from working I've seen over the years in our other lurchers, all primarily greyhound bloodlines, like feet and wrist injuries are much less in comparison1 point
