We all live in the corporate world. If anybody disrupts a capitalist economy, expect the might of the state to bear down on you. Our political system exists fundamentally to protect the economy at all costs. In a minute way the JSO protesters disrupted the economy, so they were made an example of. The same thing happened in the miners' strike. The miners threatened the power supply of the economy hence they were punished, big time. A young student was sentenced to 6 months during the 2011 riots for stealing bottles of water worth £3.50. Again, if people disobey the rules, smash wind7 points

Could Hilary take a short break from eating and sexually abusing children to challenge Rasputin, sorry Trump? Nah, loser. Kamala Harris is not up to it imo. No charisma. It was a big step to have a mixed race president. A woman of mixed race? No chance. Bernie Saunders? Could we get a genuinely left leaning, trade union advocate whose focus would be to pass laws like universal health coverage and protection for the environment? Who promises to represent Joe Public? Too dangerous. Nah, not the American way. The Democrats could put Jesus up as their candidate, but the American6 points

The reality is they hate you and me, they hate everything. If they didn’t, they would try and get us on side. They would throw themselves under the minister’s limousine, drive a JCB through Downing Street gates. Stop Starmer flying in a private jet to a European meeting ! But no, it’s a lot easier and less dangerous to stop ordinary people going about their business ! The suffragettes threw themselves in front of the royals horses, the miners fought the police for the life of their communities, these c**ts glue themselves to a road to stop people going to work ! No, Wilf,6 points

I was a bailiff in some lakes at the time of the hunting ban, I used to talk to everyone about how they should get behind hunting lads, join the CA……almost to a man the anglers said “I don’t give a shit, huntings cruel, nothing to do with me” They was as happy as the next man to see that ban, and if not happy then they were completely careless about it…… They didn’t understand that if it could be about hunting lads and things that had existed for millennia in British culture then it could be about anything…….. As I said, today them……tomorrow you !!4 points

I wouldn't make the switch, one I don't believe electric cars are any better for the planet, production of lithium batteries abd disposing of them plus the methods of producing enough electricity means they are possibly more impactful. 2 they are impractical for my day to day life, and business activities...4 points

The point of this thread isn’t if climate change is real, the point is that they are randomly locking up indigenous British people for 5 years for protesting in their own land……4 points

I'd say there are half truths and some facts, and lots of bullshit.. humans are polluters of the highest level, no doubt, from dumping our waste in the sea to pillaging forests and land to cover in concrete or burn, we ruin and destroy.. I like Greymans ideal of mother nature will eventually take control, we can't beat that in the end.. what we must realise is every man made solution to every man made problem revolves around money...the problem was sold to us (diesel, coal, etc) now the solutions are being sold to us (solar, heat source, electric vehicles).. unfortunately the solution is never4 points

Out of likes but I agree with wilf. We all go on about wanting a change but if things do kick of there will be allot of inconvenience for some people. Should we get 5 years for fighting for our beliefs.4 points

Theres the right to protest, yes, then theres these wankers who just think its ok to block public roads, stop people from getting to work to pay their bills, you know the type, the loony left greenies, they peotest against oil yet came down on public transport fuelled by the oil industry, the greta turdburg scare tactics type, the cwis packham type that can label you everything and get you cancelled and shut down, yet never face the music they create? Nah the time for revenge is here4 points

Nail on the head with this post regarding any threats to the economy regarding protests. In my opinion it was the bombing of Canary Wharf with it's financial institutions by the IRA that was the turning point in bringing the British government to the table for peace talks as the IRA attacking the money but unlike the miners and other protesters knew they could not beat them.3 points

Maybe there is no difference, but in my mind it’s a massive chasm between planning rape & murder to 50 year old Derrick planning to stand on the road with a placard ? Maybe we consider making someone late to plaster a wall is the same as rape & murder now in this moronic world mate ?, I despair, I really do. Country deserves everything it’s getting and more, it really does.3 points

Agree mate, this new climate "war" is built on impossibilities, half truths and out right bullshit, we all know that, electric transportation is a pipe dream..perhaps in inner cities but logistically world wide, even nationwide a non starter...our reliance on fossil fuels is here for good...I've said before on here we were talking with EDF about the diesel generators at Hinkleigh point, potentially using our systems to reduce the carbon out put...15k diesel generators of various sizes to "back up" the green energy production...smoke and mirrors mate3 points

I do wonder if these people were causing disruption as pro hunting or anti Islam if the sentiment towards them on here would be the same? As I said absolutely not my type of people and I don't agree with their tactics (in the main) but 5 years?? And where did this law to imprison for 5 years come from? Is it really a sentence that matches the crime?3 points

I'd say 5 years in nick is worse than a kicking personally Arry, these people are not my cup of tea but 5 years seems extreme and I have to agree with Wilf sets the precedence for everyone after, I'd guess a hunting march now would be 10 years as 90% of the population don't support us..3 points

No I had a little side hustle at corrie for a few years for a few quid and went the odd time and met the cast. But that little nugget dried up a while ago. Funny enough my sister calls me a p***y and says I was never the same since I came back from living in a caravan down south in my teens. She says I am feral lol. I too always look shabby. In fact a at the end of winter I had built a hide in the woods at side of canal and had been baiting it up everyday after work. Now further on in the woods there is some tents were crack heads live. So this particular day am dressed in my usual3 points

I think it's fair , it needs to stop they're only affecting working people and stopping people getting to hospital or work and endangering lives on roads or blockading cooking oil depos lol. If they were fanatic they'd target the people who run these businesses but they don't have the spine for it. Will their actions achieve anything? Are they made up of anxious folk who think the world is ending, could they have put there enthusiasm into designing eco friendly stuff. They're bums , who deface Stonehenge and terrorise sporting events , not interested really and to get those sentences there was3 points

I won’t agree or disagree. I started the thread because Max wanted to run his lurcher bitch at my local whippet club and , I think, get my opinion on how it ran. It had nothing to do with what was better on a hare; whippet or lurcher. Ive had plenty of both and, in my opinion a coursing bred lurcher will normally beat a whippet. I hasten to add that would be a pedigree whippet. Ive said many, many time, that in MY opinion , the non-ped whippet, which yes, of course, has plenty of greyhound blood, is the fastest dog in the world over the sprint distance of 150 yards. Can't see what 'getting him done' will achieve. I'm no dog behaviour specialist, but the dogs I have seen, including two that my old man owned, that were castrated, due to aggressive tendencies' and wandering for bitches in heat, did nothing to alter their behaviour. Was there any food nearby at the time your older dog gripped the pup?3 points

Great work Jean, I would of been there but for medical rdvz, thankfully apart from kine' these are for the most part behind me. With my former digging club we have hunted all around Limoges, once was in a city park on a Saturday, joggers, cyclists, walkers & families passed by without batting an eyelid or curiously stopped & chatted & then offered their best wishes of luck. We stopped for lunch early afternoon, the tables & chairs came out, the odd cork was popped. 8 or so in our digging club plus our host the Limoges ACCA. The deputy mayor came to meet us especially &3 points

British people will tolerate most protests in the normal fashion but to make our lives more miserable than they already are they can't be looking to gather support for their cause , so what is their objective.... Do they believe killing a child on the way to their dialysis or causing a crash will stop the world using oil , no of course not so grow up and feck off.2 points
