  1. Brilliant night of boxing at The York Hall on Saturday night it was just like old times watching the Hammers win at home then straight onto the York Hall....local kid Liam Dillon gave absolutely everything in a cracking fight with Ryan Garner...another local Archie Sharp came through a big first round scare, great atmosphere id still prefer an evening of boxing there to any of these daft Saudi venues you just cant buy history and tradition.

  6. Been reading quite a bit lately since GM started this thread and Tomatoes especially when made into a sauce is very good along with what GM said Olive Oil. The Mediterranean diet seems to have huge benefits. I find it a struggle myself cutting back on Butter, Chips, Salt, and Bread but I do include a lot of veg in my diet. Although I have gone over to eating Muti Grain Bread and now love it. I said this in other threads that changing to Muti Grain stopped reflux over night and never came back. My Brother-in-Law die after getting cancer Oesophagus from having reflux for many years, wish I had k

  15. In badger hunting, the advantage is on the side of the badger. The badger is in its territory, it is much stronger than the dog and can easily maim or kill it. And the dog can't do it. He is well protected from the dog. A badger can lower a dog's nose lobe by a decent degree with one blow of his teeth. It can tear off a lip, a jaw, tear it with claws. Therefore, the bravest dogs do not live long on such hunts. If terriers don't have game, then the English bulldog who fought the bull didn't have it either.

  16. I base my opinions on what Ive seen with my own eyes,I grew up around heads involved in the pits in the 80/90's,I never personally got the whole fighting dogs thing, found most involved in it a tad strange tbh,but each to their own.Ive seen enough pure bulls, presa, bandogs, ebts that couldn't do, what a decent lurcher can do around a hole, week in,week out, consistently ....could kill other dogs for fun,but not brave enough to travel a tube and draw something out a 1/3 of its size and kill it quickly....a working terrier is not evenly matched to its opponent, like a pitdog... That dog can be save

  17. It's lycopene in tomatoes, and tomato based food products, Arry, some other fruits and veg as well. Tomato puree has a high percentage of it. Very beneficial for a number of health issues, including prostate problems. I also eat a good amount of sardines, through the week, some in tomato sauce, lycopene again.

  18. Its not until you get onto some of these A & B Roads going across the country that you really start to realise the enormity of this project to swamp the country with extra people....ive been driving around a bit these last few weeks theres literally new towns springing up all over the place.....and its not just England i drove down from Edinburgh Airport last week theres just about the biggest development ive ever seen on the Jock side of the A1.....at the rate these places are going up there will be no rural land left in Britain in 10 years time.

  19. We are talking about completely different levels of what isnt even really the same trait.....i have every respect for a gutsy little terrier doing what he is bred to do it must take a tough durable and determined little dog to stick in when the going gets tough below ground...........but to compare it to dog matching is the mistake in comparing hunting to fighting........hunting by its very nature is NOT fair, but a fight by its very nature MUST be fair. I think a lot of people think they do but dont truly understand what a real deep level of gameness actually is or even looks like.

  31. The bloke who zapped mine said that one of his female colleagues had given birth and passed kidney stones and said she'd take the pain of birth over the kidney stones any day of the week. I often remind my wife of this...although I should add that, when giving birth, the only pain relief she had was half a paracetamol. I meanwhile was contorted on a stretcher wailing, 'Give me the morphine!' with my second attack.
