I noticed a few rats with the thermal, running round the chicken pen last Tuesday night as I waited for a fox to show. Anyway, popped on last night for an hour with the rimmy and managed 16. Picked ten this morning with six disappearing over night to either an owl, farm cats or other rats.

i used to make probes, i cant weld no more after having to have a pacemaker so cant do it no more. I made them from 10mm 304 stainless, 30mm tube handle capped off, i drilled a hole in the handle and let the bar in to the inside of the other side of tube before welding, i welded a bit off 16mm bar on the end and shaped up with the grinder to make a bulb, i did smaller ones out of 6mm bar with a 9mm bulb on for hard or stoney ground, it is easy to feel the give when it hits the tube with a bulb on, as you lift it you can feel it banging on the top of the tube.

I've found my last post as Germhound, I never produced the reverse 3/4 cross I was thinking of doing . My plans changed for sure . I have/had team of white shepherds, 2 of the working team of 4 are still with me , imported a bitch from Italy last year that dog sure can hunt. A light framed dog compared to my NZ lines . I think was on here as Germhound many years ago . I've ended up in NZ, been here 16 yrs , I brought 1st x gsd grey with me called Zappa he lasted untill he was 13 , put him to a greyhound and kept 2 back and done a father to daughter mating about 8 yrs back. Kept 2 males out of a litter of 3 , both died young from work. The female of the litter went to my partners daughter as a pet . I used to 'borrow' her for ferreting , she was an excellent marker ,she's just come home as the daughter has gone to Oz for a while. Cottonmouths and snapping turtles have woke up in my area. The last one is a young cottonmouth.They look like a baby copperhead except the end of the tail.He has a bright yellow tip on the end of his tail.They use this to lure in small bream.When grown it disappears and he will get darker.
