Yeah,..I gift pups to folk that understand jukels.... I only breed when I need a new youngster,..and when I have made my choice,..I keep it out of the way when lads come to collect theirs. Given a fair few lurchers away over the years,..I just prefer it that way...?14 points

I reared a litter 3 years ago,let them all go for 150 or less, cost me loads to feed em and innoculations, never made a profit or broke even, but I never tried to ,but a man is perfectly within his rights to ask what ever price he thinks fit,it's up to the buyer to decide whether he wants to spend that kind of money,. .13 points

There aint a lot on here working their dogs regularly. This means a lot of dogs are sitting about in kennels having a miserable life. Then when the dogs don't perform, they get pasted from pillar to post or worse. In an ideal world, you'd want your pups to be given plenty of time and a home for life. If they are worked properly, well that's a bonus. Over the past 40 year of working dogs, I've had six litters and all have been bred for mine and my friends own use. Most of the pups have been worked, but a few have had a great life in active pet homes and even then they worked, ev13 points

If i am being honest just say i bred an unusual litter of springer spaniel x whippets like my mate did a few year back the pet home sites would be my first choice tbh . I don't get how it's anyone's business what folk charge for pups no one holds a gun to your head to buy one.11 points

I'm guessing this is aimed at me...mine are going to working homes..at a decent price...I didn't put them on here because of things like this..you said you would rather breed your own for 600..I think you'll find kenneling, feeding, bedding, cleaning worming ,jabbing a greyhound year round and rearing a litter will cost treble this..if you're lucky..11 points

Rolling an ankle coupled with a knackered knee means I have been less active than usual the past few weeks so eased my way back in exercise wise with a wee walk up “my hill” I call it mine because in all the times I have been up there I can count on one hand how many times I’ve came across anyone else. It was a tad blawy at the top to be fair and if I’m honest it didn’t feel as easy as the last time I walked it!! Couple of photos anyway9 points

? Yeah,..thats a difficult one,..but, it really depends on the type of pup you are trying to home...? A few dogs (very few) are so 'hot' and prey driven, that it would be both cruel and foolish ,placing them in the hands of folk who quite plainly, cannot handle such critters.. However,..most lurchers and running dog types, will settle in quite nicely in an active family pet role,..so I do not stipulate 'must go to a genuine working home'... Just as long as a pup, is well cared for and enjoys a healthy, happy life,..that will do me just fine? Actualy, I've an eye open myself9 points

I'm hopefully working towards breeding proper pied goldies, plenty of lads are breeding them now but they want ridiculous money for them which I can't afford. I have bred more marked mules than in previous years since using this family of goldfinches.9 points

I don't think £600 is out of the way for a pup.if it's what you are looking for I would pay it. thought of breeding my own but the time and effort that goes into it and the timewasters and arseholes you have to deal with put me off.6 points

Yes, if your stock is 100% hot, ...then a Pet Home is obviously out of the question....? However, I only ever breed Herding Dog composites,..and the Greyhound or Whippet portion of their hybridisation usually insures, that they are fairly chilled and perfectly happy to accept, an active and enjoyable lifestyle with a good stable, sensible family? Some dogs appear to be prey driven and mad keen for their chosen game, but we often forget how they were introduced to this type of activity.. .A lot of dogs are quite happy just living out their lives and accepting their lot in life...5 points

All them weird coloured bullies are Northern/siberian birds the same with the weird coloured goldies and them siberian goldies sound horrible,I like a nice natural coloured native bird too.5 points

Personally, I'm not interested in colour variations in British finches. I like them traditionally marked. You can get all sort of colour variations in bullfinches, yellows, whites, pieds etc. To me none look as good as the originals. There's some good info on YouTube about keeping and breeding British birds. OC aviaries is good. He says he treats his British finches once a month with Baycox to stop them going light and dying.(coccidiosis.) I've lost all mine in the past with this disease. I'm going to get back into it and treat my birds monthly as he suggests.5 points

I agree, and to be honest the amount of grief I got yesterday about certain people’s behaviour and shooting has made me think I’m about ready to fu*k it off, I don’t need the sh*t, I haven’t bothered doing a write up of the day because I’m that sick of it, my job is keeper not shoot captain, but for some reason I get it in the neck for how adults conduct themselves on the shoot, there was a couple of instances where someone should of been sent home yesterday and it’s no good having a go at me about it when I turn up at the pub afterwards, it may be the case where we get rid of a few members an5 points

The misses is an old fashioned type and still likes a telly mag, so have to by a newspaper once a week for the telly mag, yesterdays news paper was running a big spread about not letting your sons come under the influence of this macho male, much prefer you cut his dick off and stick him in a frock, as I’ve said I no nothing of this man, but just the fact that the mainstream media is pulling out all the stops to vilify him indicates he’s doing something right, have heard no specific accusations just he’s an alpha type male that needs to be stopped from influencing younger men to want to become5 points

Get some food grade diatomaceous earth, from Amazon, dust the ferrets well with it, rubbing it all over and into their fur, and also do the hutch, put in fresh bedding and liberally douse the bedding with the powder too. It's completely non toxic and kills all insects and arthropods by getting into the crevices in their joints and carapaces and thereby drying them out.5 points

Some lads do all that an still gift pups away £600 is alot of money for a working dog that may not make any good ?5 points

I like getting good working homes for the odd litter I've bred but you can only guess how they will be treated even if you think you know the person.5 points

The thing I find the saddest since the ban...is how everyone goes out of their way to discredit others with the same passions as them? pulling apart photos etc...last few comments on here prove that...always some maggots , jealous because someone else was out doing abit, don't matter if it's digging,lamping,shooting,keepering..theres no need for the bitchiness... some folks can't see the wood through the trees Stav? I'm not a shooting man,but enjoy, reading and following yourself and a few other members...but sitting reading in the back ground, I've noticed how quick some folks are to cau4 points

Its the top of the shoulder not the armpit but that can be hard with young birds too. I could have sorted you out before Christmas but I won't have any now till autumn4 points

-
No ,not at all but if your breeding a litter of working pups why not put them on here first ,also looking at the bedy grey lurcher threads they good few lads who have asked about pups so maybe give them a chance to get one and the you can pick who you let them go to Like I said I got my first X for 100 so I wouldn't be paying 6003 points

Got to say that's unusual. Now well fed adult ferrets are not going to eat all of a rabbit, they don't have teeth and jaws of hyenas and they definitely have preferences for easy to eat parts. That said if it's fresh they always have something. My experience is Ferrets don't eat meat that's going off so it's important to use fridge and freezer to manage quality. Unless it's a freezing day I portion control and bin any meat they don't eat in 24 hours. I do prep rabbits to maximise use by ferrets / dogs / humans. Providing the rabbits look healthy I will dump diseased livers and freeze the meat3 points

It's something I'm looking into. First thing is getting my Class 1 FFL (federal firearms license need for people selling class one firearms in a business) then I need an actual store front for the most part depending on a few things. Then a few other this and that's. I'm already building my own AR's ( I mean their easy just need a $300 tool kit and a vice really then their like Lego bricks) but looking at buying a lathe and some other stuff and getting into gunsmithing. As far as being a guide , lol yeah I'm not that good of a hunter honestly and don't have the land access to really3 points
