  6. Was prescribed codeine for a shoulder injury...boxes of 100 at a time. Ended up dependant on them...even when my shoulder was fine I was still taking them for that little euphoric buzz...the worst thing is I was getting 100 tablets every 8 - 10 days and the doctors just kept writing the prescription with no questions asked...it finally took a senior doctor to catch on and get me a bit of help to come off them...opioids will f**k you up and docs are prescribing them far too easily these days

  9. Trying to do the right thing by their old mum keeping her at home rather than packing her off to rot in a care home (and hats off to them for that!) and this still happens Should be a hefty prison sentence and on some kind of register for life to make sure they never work with vulnerable people again, certainly not let off with a fecking caution FFS!

  10. The dog is only processing the world through the ONLY way he can and that’s through a predator mindset , I don’t know way people can’t understand the implications of that , so when another dog is walking on the other side of the road he can’t differentate between a dog out walking and something coming at him, the only saving grace is that a dog is one of the most social animals on earth and if meetings were allowed to play out and this is the point, the ritualistic behavior is what plicates the encounter , the sniffing pissing then smelling of urine , posing , it all works out the

  15. No, to be able to compete at coursing events all whippets couldn't be over 20", dogs and bitches. But pracically all those kennels/breeders etc would have, and did, produce plenty that were over 20"

  20. Hiya lads. As stated previously I'm new to terriers and lost my young one to being run over a few months back. I now have a Patterdale pup I saved and a lakeland I got as a small pup. Patterdale is about a year now and my lakey about 8 months. Rabbits are non existent here. Got a permission on a chicken farm before Xmas and had no luck. Went back yesterday, bolted 4 rats and caught two. Was great seeing the dogs going and my first go with the rats. I'm learning alot from them. Here is a photo but the little girl ate the first one before I could get it from her. I thought the farm would be dead

All you jammy fuckers that got a buzz off of codeine all it did to me was make me shit like I'd been eating lumps of house brick. My pal gave me 3 different bits he'd grown a few weeks back as I was having back problems.I havnt smoked in 10yrs but used to be a right puff head amongst other things.sour diesel(Very strong)lemon venom (pretty strong)and silver haze (medium strength)So he said.A couple of nights later I found myself with a bit of free time so I done myself up a little single Skinner of the silver haze.I only had a few puffs and I could feel it working already so I put the rest dow

  25. Realistically, what is required to accurately shoot vermin/ targets with sub 12 ft/lb rifles ? I have two FWB Sport " spring powered" air rifles over 40 yrs old that cost £250 and £270 each that more often than not put 8 shot groups inside a 5p target at 40 yds - what more would an air gunner need unless they were in high level competition shooting ?

  26. A couple of months back I was picking my daughter up from school and there was an old girl with a little fat,old half blind staff on a silly harness barking and growling at every dog that walked past(which was loads as all the silly fuckers feel the need to take their dogs to the school even if they've driven there)Rather than give it a kick up the arse and tell it to shut up she started telling everyone how she was only like it because her son had took it off of a gang of dogfighters. If you saw her dopey fat useless son probably get a kicking from a gang of 12 year olds.

  27. Seen a bit of this of recent. Its a good thing, the tech and the advancement in air guns and so on. But this is sooooo aimed at the those across the pond, and its destination is no doubt a bench - Where it can stay clean. Theres no way that will see a rainy night with a lamp on the rabbits, or, in and around a slurreh pit on rats. Looks expensive. Like CC said, 2+k is a lot... for an airgun, and it'll only group as well as them half the price if not more.

  28. It does bear a striking resemblance to a Cometa Lynx mate, I like that, but two and a half grand for an air gun I dont think so, anyone who pays that for an air rifle is off their head in my humble opinion.

  35. My ferreting partner also races kc whippets. He has 6 they vary in size from about 15 in to 21 in. I must admit the kc whippets seem better for rabbits Tec definitely a bit more meat about them and better feet on the ones I've seen.also the kc dogs aren' quite as quick as the non ped s .so possibly last a bit longer lol .

  37. Just worker to worker. I'm delighted with the bitch. Have her a number of years. Wouldn't change a thing about her. I took the dog in from a young chap who was giving up due to work and other commitments. I don't have him long so can't really say a lot about him. He has been working on the lamp and ferreting. Lovely dog though in temperament and manners. Atb j

  38. Jetro, there are quite alot of whippet dogs around the 22ish and bigger mark, even a few at 23, and bitches well over 21 to just under 22, all kc the last 30 ish years. The sire to my lad's kc whippet bitch is 22 3/4" tts. Her dam is exactly 20". His pup is almost 20" at the moment, and isn't 7 months til 2nd feb. I've owned some real crackers over the years that were all pretty big, with even the bitches being well over 21". I don't know, as I've never been into racing, but I'm thinking that alot of the assumptions about whippets being small, fragile etc, came about from the yard/weight

  39. My wife spoke to her GP about CBD for pain relief (she has fibromyalgia). He slagged it off terribly - untested, unknown side effects, possibly illegalities etc etc. She was going to give it a try - nothing to lose and all that - but he put her right off the idea. But he happily prescribes amitriptyline, tramadol and morphine to her...........it's a barmy world, all right !

  41. Your a 100% right and that is a very sensible reply. But thing is you hear people saying all the time about trusting a dog, its not like i knew it was going to happen the dogs never been aggresive toward other dogs before but its a lesson learnt. I gave the owner my number and have been updated to say the dogs fine its just a cut ear, which im glad to hear. But yes you are right with what you have said the only thing is you make it too black and white......there will always be cases where a dog has never been aggressive and all of a sudden something triggers it to do something out of

  42. Thought I’d update the thread with a few pics and a little write up to how the pups done this season, duchess has had a good start to her working career she’s done well on the few nights she’s been out this season, unfortunately she’s come into season a week ago so that’ll be her done now until September when hopefully she’ll be raring to go on the stubble and I’ll have a good winter big land

  43. There is enough literature about pitdogs and dogfighting on the internet and in books. If you want to know how the dogs are started and schooled you're probably better off reading that rather than what some newspaper journalist has dreamed up or listening to what someone read on an RSPCA page on Facebook. If you listened to everyone who's so called rescue dog had been used for bait there must be half a dozen dogfighting gangs in every town in the uk

  44. I've probably had this up more than once before. He was a dog I bought from a greyhound breeder who paid good money for a greyhound stud then his farm collie managed to cover the bitch after she came home. The litter was half pure greyhounds and half lurchers. He died of cancer a few years ago at around 9 or 10 if I remember right. He was real nervous as a pup but became very gutsy once settled in and matured. I used him for ferreting mostly but he loved running foxes and would desert a warren if he saw a fox. I wish I had him now. I don't do much ferreting any more but he'd be good for
