  1. I had no idea what to call this topic.A few weeks ago I had a notion that saltwater striped bass would migrate from a lake up a long winding creek. This creek is 70 miles from my house and I haven't explored it before but I couldn't let go of this idea.I assumed I could catch one. After several days of walking and kayaking I hadn't caught any.I did learn some history and meet some critters along the way. After several days of making the long drive.Walking and kayaking until my body hurt.I began to wonder why I am so stubborn. Why couldn't I just admit that I was wrong.Satu

  5. Hi all, my current dogs have served me really well ( thanks Fuji as both from him ) but my bitch is getting on a bit and starting to slow down and deserve some sofa time and the big lad is going to be doing the same in the next couple of years. So, come summertime or ideally late August / September I'll be looking for a pup to add to the team. In an ideal world 3/4 sighthound with a the rest terrier or I would consider bull as the bog lad is probably the best dog I've had for thirty years growing around the 24-26 inch and with enough turn of speed to put down larger edible. 7. Going through some old pics .for over 30 years ive kept bushers ,from sealyhams to spaniel crosses, failed earthdogs that were real ens for bushing when we were younger , ive had the privilege to own some real good bushers and dedicated any free time to these little warriors. Ive been up and down the country and over to ireland with bushers and lurchers and had some cracking weekends.

Went back to Essex for another go at finding a big tooth but still no joy.finds this year were way down on last year.found about 160 in 5 days.last time would have been 350 plus so not good.not very busy so just down to bad timing I guess.anyway health issues and not really upto putting in the miles and bending down to see these little teeth all the time is getting a bit much.so a couple of pictures to show what I found.the black circular object is a bony fish vertebrae which is very old.might be 200million or so.

  22. Well, we are 3.5 years into the small holding project and getting on the top side. Few bits to do this year but pretty much broke its back, mainly now is about improving to maximise yields and how to make the most of it, succession planting, storage, pickling etc. So.....I needed a new project and here she is. Shetland Saker. Hull and top side in good condition needs full fit out as its been stripped out by previous owner. That suits me because I would have stripped it anyway. Steady away at it this year restoring her with a view to hitting the canals/rivers next spring. Looking

At 5 he could name all the planets in the solar system and assign them a colour, mars red, earth blue, Venus silver, etc. At 8 he told me they were doing science lessons and he knew the difference between kinetic and potential energy. He is fluent in English and Arabic and has conversational French at 11, his mother told me he has changed the language on his iPad to Japanese as he wants to learn it ! His school teaches critical thinking ; HOW to think , not WHAT to think, and there’s absolutely none of this D.E.I. woke nonsense and any teacher talking about Trans rights Homosex

  26. Just to throw a controversial stick in the fire here….. Do you not think some of this comes down to honesty and having the legs to sit a kid down and explain a few things in a kind and gentle way ? Like, there no way in gods green earth ten grand is warranted in a family pet !…….ever ! I don’t care if you’re Richard Branson, it’s just not on……part of the moral obligation of having an animal is having the backbone to put it out of its misery if it can’t live a full life. Its not something you want to do but it’s something you are obligated to do and I think that’s a great le

The Mrs has spent the last 2 days writing up the yearly report for our daughter...she went to the comp for the first 12 months,in that time she went too 3 different schools, completely lost our faith in the education system..so we took the decision to start home schooling ourselves ..there's loads of groups etc you can join for free,we pay for a Spanish course,on line and have a friend of the Mrs,who is doing her teaching degree, that comes twice a week, she helps out with maths, English..my daughter is thriving to be fair..My eldest lad goes to a ACT Unit after he was kicked out,of school for

  34. It makes me angry when idiots on tv say the state pension is a “benefit “ ! Its not ! If you haven’t paid into it in the form of so many years National Insurance contributions, you don’t get a pension , simple as that. Being put up for free in a hotel, getting fed for free, free clothes, free phone, pocket money, free transport, etc are benefits given to people that shouldn’t be in this country are benefits old people can only dream of ! If the benefit system needs reducing, I wouldn’t start with the pensioners, I know where I would start ! Cheers.

It was all on CCTV and cool as fck. My lad got suspended. As a one off we could live with it...but he shouldn't have to be doing that every day. We have made the decision, he ain't going to school after Easter holidays. Already lined up an ex teacher friend to do a couple hours a week maths and someone to teach him Spanish. His brother does AI and software development so he will help with that side o
