After 8 hour round trip I brought my new pup home at the weekend, I was very kindly gifted her off a member off here after a chance conversation, from the day they were born he kept me updated with regular pics and updates, she has settled in a treat taking everything in her stride so far, she’s an absolute credit to him, hopefully she might get the odd day out towards the end of the coming season, cheers Neil B

Been there and it's shit, shit like beyond wanting to wake up tomorrow but knowing you can't die because then your kids will always have a down and out junkie dad and your parent will have to bury you with the shame of it being their child no matter how old you are, that was 25 years ago and i'm fecking blessed to have survived it and be where i am today, forgiven and much loved. I often feel conflicted when seeing "down and outs", particularly when enjoying a pleasant evening in a city centre. Stopping to speak or giving money can result in criticism that you're a mug and it's all a scam or that they will only use the money to buy drugs. Some prick botched a job on my truck a few months back,just cost me £1200 including labour for a solid flywheel conversion and a new clutchafter spending out £500 on a new engine and box last November before I mot'd it So been forced to do a few days graft Swap some glazing units,new handrail up the stairs,some painting,3 sets of roller blinds, silicone 2 x baths,patching a few holes with some plasterboard ,sand and stain front door....then got a list of other little jobs in another 9 student houses,4 in the same street..easy hrs and easy money TBF

Funny, but I always thought it was part of the British character to not be minges about everything. The brutal nature of our working class humour was a mainstay of who we are. I always liked the old adage of “If you didn’t laugh you’d f***ing cry” and I think that’s not a bad way to be. Humour, however savage is subjective and it’s an important (imho) tool in taking away some of poison and horror of terrible situations……there are no clear lines of demarcation, I always just preferred the old fashioned method of you know if you’ve gone too far because someone gives you a dig.
