Got the stove sorted last week and well pleased with it, just had a few small fires to break it in but even with a handful of small wood offcuts it throws some heat, new windows and doors getting fitted in a months time should make a good improvement as well.9 points

Funny how all these sentences getting dished out are all the same type of people, poor working class etc immediately pleading guilty showing the awaiting public how terrified they should be in future......wait till they pick on someone with the capability to fight back, someone not intimidated by threats of longer sentences, someone with enough legal clout to tear the prosecution to shreds because it wouldnt be a difficult thing to do finances permitting.....sad desperate shower of c**ts !7 points

I found it fascinating that his business partner was killed less than 48 hours earlier, run over while out running in Cambridgeshire, both of them having just been found not guilty in a massive fraud case in the U.S6 points

Wouldn't float my boat shooting a bear or a wolf. But to modify the famous line. I don't agree with what your shooting but I defend your right to do it. It's a balance, keeping field sportsmen, farmers and Joe Public happy.5 points

To quote Donald Trump "I have no idea what you are on about and I don't think you have either" so I will bow to your superior knowledge and give you a pacifying thumbs up5 points

The fishery was really relaxed with a top notch breakfast. The fish were all in mint condition, not like some places. I will be back probably before the next thl gathering just to have a go in the specimen lake. I think the best fish of the weekend was Ollie's 2.8 lb ? Perch well done mate.5 points

It seems that the mainstream media thinks it important to tell us about someone 10.000 miles away who wrote something false on the Internet more important than any number of other stabbings that have happened over the last few days in our own country4 points

Wouldnt like to hazard a guess at what really happened to that yacht but shame all the same,Mike Lynch was a local chap started out with nothing....fascinating fella to listen to just had a unique foresight of the world on a huge scale.....i suppose theres big business where money gets shit done, and then theres huge business where power gets things done.....id say theres a good person been lost there regardless.3 points

Absolutely rubbish Africa is seeing wildlife numbers boom in areas that have well run trophy hunting. Trophy's that would have taken numerous month long safaris to collect in the 80's can now be taken regularly on a week long safari in south Africa or Namibia. In fact they are shooting record trophy African species on Texas game farms these days. Years ago a 40" cape buff was everyone's dream....now you can state 40" minimum when booking an African hunt. Animal populations suffer when their value as a trophy is less than the value of the land for farming or human expansion....o3 points

To be fair they’ve done well by me. Recognised my potential and pulled me out of the uk team and now got me working directly for them within a small strategic team that are tasked with driving meaningful transformation across the group. They’ve given me the opportunity to do my job properly that I have wanted for the past two years.3 points

I can't see how they can do anything but throw the book at him,it's going to create one hell of a stink if he isn't dealt with the same as the others, im interested to see what happens....3 points

Some observations having caused a row and then absented myself. Lol. Penal laws in Nordic countries are generally not based on state vengeance or harsh punishment and their outcomes in terms of re offending are better than ours. Although it's true that criminals in countries where criminals are executed have zero reoffending rates.Lol I think people in the UK fight the battle of the super rich for them." It wouldn't be fair" is the excuse you hear from people who have got next to nothing and have been treated unfairly all their lives. People like me are accused of jealousy and bitte3 points

If you mug an old lady in the UK, the government buys you a new leisure centre……if you do it in the Arab states they cut your hands off ! I think your answer is somewhere in there ! Lol3 points

Looks like I've timed going away right for once. In Rhodes, 30 odd degrees. Too much for me these days. It's 10:30 am and my balls are swimming already! Nice rocky hill just behind where we are staying and it's begging me to walk up it. Told my Mrs get ready for Michael Mosley part 2!3 points

As usual, fabulous weekend with some great food, drink, fishing and craic. Would have been nice to see a few more THL members there but well done with the £1400 from limited resources. Thanks to all at the fishery, all who helped out, the new faces for coming along and joining in, Sean C for being MC, all who contributed prizes or bought stuff, and Kev for cooking and being Mr.36 hours in a day and anyone I've missed out! Cheers, D.3 points

It's well known that it isn't at it's best now. But it is still a massive success, just look at King, the NHS is worth it's weight in gold, we should treasure it.2 points

Went out at first light for a mooch with mutt and catty. It was unreal, trees cracking and bending. I got hit with a few light twigs then a biggish branch twatted me round the head and shoulder, wind was unreal.2 points

Great weekend again lads, thanks to everyone for making it what it is. Raised close to £1400, so another good effort from a bunch of hairy assed hunters sat round a camp fire... Thanks to Mary, Niramah and Graeme for laying it all on again and making everyone so welcome.. Thanks to everyone who attended across the weekend bringing prizes, money for the kitty etc, it's appreciated even if you can't stay all weekend.. The 12 months recovery before we do it again has began...cheers lads!2 points
