I think you're bang on that his opponents feared his power, but they just weren't good enough to expose his multitude of weaknesses...no axe to grind though, he produced some great 1 punch knockouts, I don't think he'll be remembered as a great fighter but he produced some memorable moments..

Rubbish boxer but opponents used to stand off him for fear of his big punch. Now he's been exposed, opponents take the fight to him and he's hopeless. He is a genuine warrior though. When he picks himself off the floor after being badly hurt he genuinely wants to fight on.

Just my opinion, but it may be what Man U had but have now lost; the “fear factor”. Any team going up against Real Madrid may have a psychological disadvantage and not play with the confidence they would against other teams. As I say, just my opinion.
