My grandfather on my dad's side was a spitfire pilot in ww2. Just 19 years old , went and did a crash course learning to fly in Canada then he was up there and at them. Got shot down by the Gerry, but luckily survived. He died when I was in my early teens. I remember a very clever switched on serious man, with all scaring to the side of his face from the shrapnel that hit him in the face when he got hit. The average life expectancy of a spitfire pilot during ww2 was apparently just 4 weeks. These fellas had balls of steel. After the army he went to become a small fairly successful businessman20 points

One of the massive reasons the British army is so good is precisely because it’s a volunteer force, professional people who WANT to be there…..these f***ing non starters cluttering up the jails have no place amongst these lads, they ain’t fit to lace their boots. If they want them to join up, tell that c**t Zelensky that instead of a gazillion quid we are sending him a load of weed heads and muggers and county lines wogs to push straight into the front line so that they can get ruined by some Siberian who grew up in a village with no running water, a thousand miles from civilisation,11 points

A few snaps of my son's dog's that I'm currently looking after whilst he's away on holiday with his Mrs & kid's..the first pic is of Lucky, she's the younger half sister to my two clowns Bear & Rose. The dam of all three of them is on the second pic,old Roxy, she's currently having a phantom pregnancy as she does & has done after every single season she has had since being a pup. Great old dog, super sensible, doesn't put a foot wrong in life & is exemplary at work too. The wee terrier is Molly, for a terrier she is very sensible too although she only gets off the leash on the beac9 points

There's a few around bud, couple that I do know of personally are serious dog's. Very good on teeth,no back up required & with these two I'm thinking of in particular it doesn't surprise me as both dog's are bigger than Bear, they catch plenty of gear, more on the lamp than in the daytime though being honest. It was a decent litter to be fair,Rose was the smallest in the litter & there was 3 dogs or possibly 4 dog's in the litter bigger than Bear..their dam Roxy is 27tts & weighs well over 35kg,she is actually heavier than Boots the sire of them as he weighs 33.50kg which is about 73l6 points

Worked a small type springer with my lurchers for years daytime used to be good when I was on my own as the springer would quarter big fields and knock hare's up that were sat tight and flushing rabbits out of patches of bramble and other cover. I think it's a great combination especially hunting on your own.5 points

It breaks my heart to see hunting with dogs to be labled unhealthy, sick, bloodthirsty, a crime in the making, when not that long ago it was viewed very differently. The act of keeping hunting dogs was a way of life, not only did the result of a hunt feed families in very tough time's, it was a shared passion. Country folk came together at fairs and local working dog shows, it was the very reason, all sat side time to go, to catch up with others in the sport. Hunting with dogs was in their DNA, it fed the working man's soul, it was an important part of country life, woven into the very fabric5 points

Few pics of Rose stretching her legs here by our home,to be honest you wouldn't know she snapped both bones clean in half in her front leg & has a metal plate in there from just below her shoulder right down to almost her wrist, within 7/8 month's of her operation she was absolutely flying again & catching lot's of gear both daytime and nighttime. The vet who operated on her had never done such an operation before but had sent all Rose's x-rays etc off to veterinary surgeon's who were expert's at doing them & she had taken advice from them in regards to exactly where to put the plat4 points

Sadly mate in the age of the internet it’s not so easy for the government to keep lying to people, people aren’t loosing there lives for national pride or to maintain there freedoms in there own country’s we are sending our youngsters to fight other people’s wars for political gains and to further the global agenda it’s why conscriptions are at there lowest ever, the Fanny’s in charge have also spent years poking the bear in the belief they were a spent force now Ukraine has been layed to waste they will be looking at sending young men from other country’s to die scary times we live in mate es4 points

Back out on Kinder scout again last night. Had company this time and it was first time out for a lad that I work with. It's an absolute killer of a walk up from Edale upto Grindslow Knoll.. especially with big pack on!! Really steep going up but once your on top it stays pretty flat. Good night. No drama's. Didn't really take any pics either! The elevation graph! My heart rate went bezerkers going up!! It's a good little work out though to be truthful and feels like you've earned your snap and a can or three once your set up. Hitting the lake district h4 points

For anyone that didn't know there was two referendums happening yesterday in the south of ireland. One was to change the constitution all together by taking mother out of it an replacing it with "durable" relationship. All the main parties an most of the rest apart from a couple of independent was in favour of it,they campaigned saying that the constitution said that mothers belong in the home which was complete an utter lies,it does not say that,an that it needs to change to show Irelands progressives, thank f**k it was whole heartily rejected by the irish people, they tried to ruin t3 points

Angus x mate, I may just wait and raise them to beef rather than veal this time. I’ll only kill one at a time, eat it and then kill the other so one of them definitely won’t be for a good while.3 points

Few pics of Bear from the last couple of days,he's a lovely big fine dog, just a shame he broke his neck as a young dog. At work he was honestly looking absolutely unbelievable until fate stopped his progress in his tracks. It's not the best pic alongside Rose here but she's about 26tts & weighs over 31kg & she looks tiny compared to him,he's a good 28tts & when he was weighed at the vet's he was 40 odd kilo's,in fact whatever he was in kilograms equalled 94lb..he was a very fast dog & unfortunately he was just too full on for his own good especially with the size of himself,he3 points

I was pretty happy to see Utd win that, imho they ruined City yesterday…..I don’t think one player had a bad game. Im not a fan of low block football (don’t think I have ever mentioned that before ? Lol ) but the way they executed that game plan yesterday was good to watch, every single player gave everything. Doku and Bissaka’s match up was brilliant to watch but it was happening all over the pitch, that young Mainoo can play and him and Fernandez were quality on the ball, Amrabat was just doing ugly everywhere, speed of the counter and the grit of those young forwards was brilliant3 points

I had a 70lb pit/bullmastiff that I didn't use as a hunting dog but he caught and killed roos and foxes when I used to walk him through the bush for exercise. I only saw him on one fox in the open and he didn't catch it but was surprisingly close on it's ass for a while. He lived until 18.2 points

Nice night away last weekend, only a quick one as didn't get away from the yard until 11.30 ish after laying concrete. First night in the tentbox and can say we enjoyed it and slept well. I usually prefer a more remote camping spot but we were meeting friends in their camper and they wanted electric hookup so headed up to baskerville Hall in Hay on Wye. Cheap enough £24 for two adults for the night and they leave you alone to it.2 points
