  6. The Chinese are opening up coal fired power stations on an industrial scale to keep up with the demand in solar panels and wind turbines, yet as arry says we have some of the biggest tidal rise and falls in the world the river Severn alone could generate a massive amount of continuous power in all weathers yet no money to be made from it in grants so no progress the whole green energy that we are having pushed on us is all just smoke and mirrors we are having our pants pulled down on all fronts, HAS ANYONES ENERGY BILL ACTUALLY GONE DOWN ?????

  7. Apart from culling a fallow buck with wire round it's antlers my last few outings had proved frustrating. I had seen quite a few roe and fallow in a neighbour's field but whenever they ventured onto my permission it seemed that either, time , failing light or the wind was against me. I s'pose l could've tried an approach but decided to leave them undisturbed and unaware of my observation rather than educate them. Yesterday I got it right ; l was in a position on a tree-lined bank near a point where they were likely to appear and the wind was at last in my favour. Three roe

  10. I’d think I’d run seeing a man with a wicker basket with hay poking out with a neatly fold tea towel coming up the beach. Something out of brokeback mountain

  11. That’s the common myth mate, but we are the grown ups and it’s our job to show them the way. Don’t get me wrong, I have seen my share of wankers but I was just ruthless and f****d them off….one bad apple will rot the whole barrel but if you give lads a sense of belief and pride then it can be win/win I used to employ lads from all sorts of backgrounds, some of them not very nice but I ended up with a decent little crew of young British lads who were all better men at work than their ordinary everyday life allowed them to be…..real, hard, remorseless graft and them lads made me proud

  13. The windmills do not generate nowere near enough power, the materials used to make them are totally unrecyclleable,so will have to be buried, the amount of oil an grease needed to keep them spinning is a joke, its far from green energy, its a scam just like most of the green ideas, big profits are being made which we will never see or gain from.

  14. Personally I've no problem with Windmills or Waterwheels it's just going back to an old way of getting power just a different sort of power. They put a Archimedes screw water station on the local weir and it just sits there generating power. Perhaps there should be water wheels and this type of generator on every river and steam imo more reliable than wind. Cheers Arry

  16. Went out to buy some pumpkins for the front of the house last night,my good lady loves Halloween,we have a few parties to go to,she has got a vampire nurse outfit for the parties and she looks as good in it as when she was working as a nurse on the wards.Went to a pumpkin farm with carvers, smoke machines, skeletons, giants, the whole Halloween kit’n’kaboodle. One thing a little different was an illuminated fox-hunting scene as fox hunting with hounds, and coyote hunting with same,is still legal here.

  19. Whenever I hear turbines being discussed it always makes me giggle , We were once driving along the west Cumbria coastline , passed the windfarms, to wherever and my mate told the yts lad in the back that it wasn’t windy today as the fans that blow the wind back out to sea hasn’t been turned on. A few weeks later , another lad was driving us and the yts proudly announced from the back “ I see it’s not very windy today eh? “ that drivers face will stay with me forever

  35. Now to me the water thing makes sense, the wind don’t always blow and the sun don’t always shine but rivers keep moving……but as usual, the government want a one size fits all approach. Maybe, they should be helping community’s to install infrastructure that best utilises what they have around them?

  37. Right of the Windmill subject but similar to Stiff's. Two Chippies used to give me and a mate a lift to a Wimpey building site on the way one of the Chippies looking into a field and said, isn't it clever how they train those cows to eat in a straight line. Me and my mate cracked up. Cheers Arry

  40. The bitch has been off for a few weeks with a wrist injury. I had a look out with the lamp last night and gave her a couple of slips on foxes to see if it had healed. She didn't show any adverse reaction, so I thought I'd give her a run on a hare this morning. Nowt about so it was just a walk in the rain. I'll leave it now till this storm passes, then get her up the fells for a few runs, I think she's fully recovered now. Cheers.
