  1. I work for Network Rail and the comments by Schapps are hilarious he keeps bleating on about how much drivers are paid Network Rail do not employ any drivers for one it’s the TOCs the train operating companies. Whats happening is an attack on our terms and conditions which have been fought for for generations, also we have had a pay freeze since 2019 they are also scrapping roles such as the operative and supervisors role trying to get us to do more nights more weekends I do three weekends a month as it is. He keeps on bleating about the £16 billion that was given to the industry we

  2. Has anyone considered the possibility that the woman may just like to get amongst it ?……..we are talking like she is some sort of bad person/victim in all this but maybe she wasn’t ? Maybe she had a whale of a time ? As Stiff said, this is happening up and down the country every weekend and has been forever ! Last time I looked, getting across a bird with a few of your pals didn’t preclude you from being a highly trained soldier capable of operating in any theatre of war on earth…..they ain’t some elite band of warrior monks ! Much ado about nothing imho.

  3. ? Yeah, I get what folk are saying with regards to the tractability of Greyhounds,...but,...we have to remember that the majority of these superlative canine athletes , have been conditioned to go with the flow, and to use their basic instincts. A racing Greyhound that waits for the command to get on,.. or sits quietly, having a bit of a ponder as to the best way to catch a particular critter,...does not reign for long...? By the same token, I've schooled Greyhound puppies for the rabbiting game,.. and I firmly believe they would have satisfied, very many, contemporary lurcher enthu

  8. My trains are freight - they weigh anything from 2000 to 4000 tons and, they can run at up to 60mph. When they reach me, I'm responsible for all of their movements, for getting in between those wagons when required and, I'm responsible for checking it all over and signing legal paperwork to say that it's safe to go back out on the mainline. Each wagon weighs around 100 tons full / 27 tons empty so, there are no small accidents. A cock up will leave you with a life changing injury, or you'll be dead or, you'll be up infront of a judge - it's not a case of a written warning from

  11. There used to be 13 million union members but now there are something like 6 million….that’s what I read anyway. There was a time when I would have been all “oh, unions at it again” but now days with people getting rinsed right, left and centre while politicians just carry on f***ing about all exes paid I’m very much of the opinion “Good for them, get every penny you can back off the greedy f***ing government” Governments can’t have it all ways round, they can’t regulate and tax people until their eyes bleed and not be subject to people using the rules against them and asking for so

Or leadership , fitness , integrity , selfless commitment , ethos , effective intelligence or any of the other myriad qualities imbued into todays junior soldiers ? the army is one of the only true places left where a person regardless of background , gender , skin colour , has all the baggage stripped away and judged by their own personal attributes, giving every chance to flourish and excel in whatever they ch

  18. Here’s the thing, what if it had been a single bloke and half a dozen women ? We would all be calling him a legend ! I get your point totally, I have daughters myself and I hope they have been brought up that this type of thing isnt their cup of tea…….but we have to accept that for some, it is their cup of tea and that don’t make them a bad person. Birds ain’t all laying back and thinking of England, some of them like to have a roll about too……I knew a few when I was a young man, all ages, salt of the earth types who liked what they liked and made no apologies to anyone for

  19. That side of it should be sorted. I used to go to London from Sth Yorks for hospital appointments. The fare offered by the train company was four times that I paid via an agency. And if I got done early and went to buy an earlier return they wanted ten times what I had paid for the return ticket. Madness! Privatising railways was not a good thing especially when that ginger cnut Bransom got involved. The train companies don't own the trains or rolling stock. The tracks belong to someone else and tickets are bought in bulk by agencies who then undercut the train companies. The loser is th

  20. Our train service is very poor compared to the clean, efficient, heavily subsidised services of our continental neighbours. We are still stuck with victorian infrastructure because of decades of under investment. I think there have been efforts to modernise the train service and some investment but we have a long way to go in comparison to Spain, France and Germany for example. As far as unions go, if you look at pay where workers are unionised, it is much higher than non unionised jobs. Unions are essential but they are demonised in the UK. In other countries they are accepted

  27. Good points there mate ? I used to live 23 miles outside the centre of London, I can fly from Ireland to London for half the money it used to cost me on the train from where I used to live…….less than half in fact ! The point you make about unions wanting to bring down governments is part of the reason I think union membership may have dropped off…..many folks realised that is wasn’t about workers and more about power for those at the top for some of those unions. The working man was betrayed on all sides.

  33. It's cheaper to fly from Newcastle to New York than to get the train from Newcastle to London on a standard fare. Doesnt affect me, I haven't been on a train since 1977. Im pretty ambivalent about strikes....if it's for better conditions and fairer pay, fine.....if it's political to bring down a democratically elected government, then no. What pisses me off is barristers wanting a 25% pay rise out of the legal aid fund....they can go f**k themsellves, when was the last time anyone saw a barrister in a food bank ? Cheers.

  34. The rails a mixed bag for me , I can leave Kent at just shy of half two on a Friday and be sat at home in North Yorkshire at 6 , which just isn’t possible in the car. Sundays can be better slightly even as I can catch a train at five and be sat typing away again at half 8 in my room . price wise , if I book in advance three to four weeks , It will cost me £80 ish , I can catch odd seats etc here there nearer but if not , it’s 120 ish one way . I like the train, getting the link from London up to Darlington is a lovely scenic journey , lovely in the summer ?

When l arrived the customer was out but the cleaner was there and had been told to expect me. She was indeed expecting me but frustratingly hadn't been told where the nest was . A scout about revealed that there actually four nests in various parts of the cottage l showed them to cleaning lady for confirmation , did the deed and left an invoice. My triumph lasted just long enough for me to drive back to my home patch . Whereupon came a phon

  36. Start swapping their bedding around and wait till the kit is older. I have done it a few times and been lucky. They will still fight but not as much. Keep a spray bottle handy with water in it and spray them if one latches onto the other one. Done this a few times it helps and has not effected the ferrets in any way. Good luck with it.

As you know,.. this is simply not the case..? And THIS is WHY ,..some of us will go out of our way, to retain the services, of our best workers? Most ferrets can put up a good show, especially on easy warrens and places where the rabbits are willing to shift, but same as with many other keen hunters,.. both animal and human,.. there are variables... It would be foolish to argue or even de
