Well I was up at 4.30 and on the ground for 5am. Nice morning and sure I would see something. As I got to a likely spot a doe was spotted moving hastily towards me but no chance of a shot , couple of minutes later a dog Walker appears who had obviously bumped the deer , this was only 5.30 ? Anyway continuing on I spied 2 does disappearing into a hedge of holly. I waited until they were out of sight and stalked in along the hedgerow to around 50 yds from them , turned out to be 3 doe followers. I had to wait until one turned broadside which wasnt long and first deer lay on the grass ?8 points

Getting the thread back on track; I've never really had big bags of rabbits, it's not something I went out for. I think 36 or 39 was about my best with Delta and Bruce the rescue dog; Id get more pleasure out of a good winter daytime hare with a deer cross, Or a big dog fox with a game beddy cross, But I enjoy every aspect of the game ! ? ! Cheers.5 points

I lived in a caravan myself for a couple of years, at 16 I moved on my own down south and got a job doing the bird control on airfields and landfill sites. Lived in a couple of caravans with my hawks falcons ferrets and dogs. It was a harsh life with no money and in winter, but was happy as a pig in sh1t. To this day my sister said it made me feral lol.3 points

The top picture and the lad on the right stood up is my old mate holding his old minshaw dog, before he moved on to a different type of half cross. Also I have that same pic in my album against the broken Landy and a old Talbot sunbeam on right hand side , but only two dogs in the pic and a hare strung up next to the red deer. Small world hey3 points

I tried a spaniel ..never again! No need or desire for a pit type dog, I really like the EBTs and Staffies that I have been around over the years, but again no desire to own one of them either... I've absolutely no idea why anyone would want a large and potentially aggressive breed as a house pet, well I do know why and as often proven the result is a disaster! Properly bred dogs of this type will need stimulation beyond a quick walk around the block... its madness that people shove them in a house with kids and the manic type environment that brings .... terrible for the child2 points
