Since I was a kid ,troops from the Empire have been mentioned and acknowledged ,Gurkas , et al ,in my memory have always had a slice of thanks from all quarters ,. The thing is we have been saturated with virtue signalling ,lefty numbskulls who have pushed their agendas so much in recent years ,we are constantly on the look out for it ,,,sometimes it's not there ,,sometime it's just a fair view of what has passed . I don't know how many served or what they did ,but I'm grateful they did ,and it seems wrong to me to begrudge them honourable mentions .9 points

Yes im being deadly serious....you knew what i was getting at because my first post on the subject said that we all know the part they played yet you continually pretended to think i was digging out the sentiment itself and not the timing of the sentiment........im not a war historian i dont know the numbers of turban wearing men who fought i just acknowledge and accept they deserve respect and credit for the part they played and thats good enough. But the problem for me is that when folk like you do these things its all part of what i call the " racial bean counting " of making sure that8 points

? I've never been in a war zone, I've never been, 'under fire' and never had to face the trauma that a member of the Armed Forces, could be put under,..but,..as a civvy (and a pensioner to boot) .. I would have no problem in being protected and defended, by any fighting man in uniform....regardless of his race or colour... He can be Black, White, or fecking Polka Dot for all I care....?6 points

If you can get an invite to hunt in this country with someone you have not met before then doing the same in another country is just as easy. They’re just dog men who like hunting dogs too. I had about 50 invites in place before heading over here but won’t be able to fit them all in, all manner of hunting. Been to France digging and Utah mountain lion hunting twice too by doing the same thing.6 points

Why not support both? not as if lads can’t afford a few quid these days. Brexit hasn’t starved ye “yet” ? Correct me if I’m wrong but the Fell & Moorland is a working terrier organisation for promoting Terrierwork, rescues and protects working strains. Fell and Moorland “Club” is a member of the NWTF. The NWTF is a National “Federation” of Working Terrier Clubs that fights to promote and maintain Terrierwork on a political front ably run by Mr B. Wade. In my mind “everyone” who works a terrier should be a member. The amount of work these guys do on your behalf in th6 points

I wouldn’t say lucky had the fastest and aggressive style of running I’ve seen by a long shot, he was a fast dog that knew how to run slow, a very good dog I liked his style, one of the best coursing dogs to have ever lived4 points

I think what he may have been pointing out to you was the fell and moorland are an amalgamation of terrier men individuals can join I pay my subscription to fell and moorland and I'm in Ireland..and there more so there to help terrier men if they get into a rescue situation with a terrier and they need a hand or a machine in doing legal fox control with a terrier. Where as the NWTF is an almalgamation of working terrier clubs all under one roof and they look after the politicians and government side of things and lobby against them and keep the fell and moorland and other clubs up to date and4 points

I’ve got a pal called Tim , who I’ve been mates with since school, our wives are friends and we have gone on holidays with our kids and all that stuff . But as well as being friends we are very competitive . But Tim is a complete git and always on a wind up . He has “ got me so many times it’s not even funny “ . One of his best stories that he wheels out is when he came around my house with a video of that film “ midnight express “ . Now for anyone who hasn’t seen it there is a scene where the guy is in prison and his girlfriend visits and gets her breasts out and he knocks one out . My Mrs th4 points

Just a brief addition, but an important one.... The other alternative of course is to get together with a few friends and form a club of your own. It may seem a thankless task at times and as anyone who has ever been involved with any sort of Club or organisation will testify "willing workhorses are few and far between". But nevertheless some things are worth fighting for and the alternatives are far worse. Right now terrierwork is one of the few remaining legal forms of "hunting with dogs" and the NWTF motto of "United We Stand" has stood us in pretty good stead so far. But it4 points

Morning all, I don’t come on here as often as I used to but thought I’d drop on and share some images from my current trip to Spain. I am out here hunting and photographing various working dogs for a fortnight all over the country. On Thursday I hunted with various Rehalas on one of the most important monteria in the country. Throughout the day we were always in full view of the sanctuary de la Virgen de la Cabeza, patron saint of hunting and as such the area was sacred and meant a lot to the hunters present. We took around 25 red deer, 20 fallow deer, 15 boar, 3 foxes and 2 mouf3 points

The Indian army sent 1.5 million professional soldiers to WW1, not conscripts but full time employed professionals. 700,000 of them went to Mesopotamia to fight the Turks for us, 130,000 came to Europe right at the start and stopped the Germans while we were busy training troops. They made a huge part of the British expeditionary force. I have yet to meet any soldier who served in ww2 (obviously never met any from ww1) who held anything like the ideas or thoughts you do about those troops and Im Fairly certain most would be disgusted by your attitude and words. Truly and deeply disgusted.3 points

When I was a lad, my uncle had a lightweight single barrel twelve with a three inch chamber. He used to give me the old single and a handful of eley magnums when we were shooting crows. Talk about kick, I was probably about nine stone wet through at the time, and my uncle and his pals would fall about laughing every time I took a shot. It nearly put me on my arse every time.....?3 points

Decided to do something a bit different for remembrance parade today. Normally go to the local service but decided to tie it in with a walk up on Dartmoor. Decent weather and a couple of decent runs. I stumbled across a plaque when I was up there over the summer so we decided to do our 2 minutes silence there.2 points

Those ration packs are a waste of money, unless you are on expedition. Any tinned goods will do ok for a few days in ziplocks, eg beans etc (I really like the tinned tripe they do here). A couple of kgs of cooked chicken wings and some uncoocked meat. Pasta/rice/quinoa/ramen etc for carbs. Chocolate, maybe some dried fruit and nuts etc. I can feed 2 people for 4 days on less than 20€. That's feeding around an extra 1500cal a day per person too. Weight wise looking at carrying about 4-5kg each. Something I have been trying to nail is making really concentrated stews and soups so that most2 points

I,m on a shipping canal so the bridges are all manned, travelling times get shorter in the winter as the bridges shut earlier but can still come and go as you please within those hours, when it gets really quiet jan/feb time you may sometimes need to phone up and book the bridges as one keeper may man 2/3 bridges and cycle between them, the birth in the marina is mine all the time even if I leave for 6 months as I pay a yearly fee it will be empty when ever I come back ??2 points

What cracks me up is they put out all the macho call outs etc on YouTube but never ever will they lamp alone.if you pull up in thier yard they come flying out , but dis respect others land. I’ve been caught a few times , on my own walked towards the farmer or who ever and chatted politely, never had a problem. Slip quietly about with out doing damage no ones the wiser.2 points
