  2. Got access to a huge permission yesterday but through funny circumstances, so thought to share and ask if anyone else has had similar. Excuse the essay; Went out for a daytime wander with the dogs and the missus around one of my favourite mooching grounds where I grew up. Just as we're getting on to the first footpath, a gamekeeper spins up the road on his atv gesturing at us to stop. Gives the usual, "those dogs better only be walking on footpaths on leads" routine, but was friendly enough if a lil suspicious, so l took him as I found him. An hour or so later and we're having a wee

She had apparently just been released from police custody and was suffering from a mental illness …. Before after …. that’s my good deed for the week …..

  7. When I lived in Lincolnshire I had a caravan on a farm next to North Lincs Coursing Clubs running grounds. Naturally I used to have a run now and again and lamp rabbits a bit too. One night on my way back from lamping I was walking down a grassy lane where cattle had been put to graze the grass down. I came across a steer upside down in a concrete drinking trough with all four legs stuck up in the air. It was about half two or three in the morning but I thought I'd better do something so I went to the farmhouse and woke the farm manager. He was a bit surprised when I said what was up and I don

I hear you mate, I have suffered every kind of abuse you could imagine from child hood, but I have always been a fighter and the day the fight goes from a man you have nothing else left, i,m very good at putting things in mental box’s and packing them away, I,ve also learnt not to hate people as it consumes you, but more importantly I,ve learnt to like myself, which ain’t easy when you have been put down and told how worthless you are from a very young age, it’s taken me nearly 60 years to fathom out, but I,m probably more happy and content than at any stage in my life,

  26. I think it’s a fine balance mate between knowing when to wrap an arm round someone and knowing when to say “Stop being a f***ing pansy”……..not everyone is being a pansy, some are genuinely in bits…..and some are just a pansy. But that said, the biggest thing someone has experienced is still big to them even if it’s nothing to you. Humility and humanity go a long way in life no matter what.

  27. Good man Socks, well done. This is the kind of crap we were up against with my son... A mental health patient says he was discharged from hospital with "the rope he tried to hang himself with" just three days before. Daniel Durrant, 40, was admitted to the Shrewsbury Ward at Oxleas House, based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, on July 30 after he was found with a rope around his neck on a bridge over the A2 in Charlton. Police were called when members of the public saw him on the wrong side of the barrier tying rope to the railings. Officers were a

  34. Maybe it can contain worms then, I’m not sure tbh but with regular worming it shouldn’t be a problem even if there is, raw is better for them than cooked just like anything else like veg once you expose them to high temperatures it starts to break down the nutrients and vitamins in whatever your cooking, there is a lot of B vitamins and iron in red meat which will partly be destroyed in the cooking process, vegetables loose something like half of there vitamin content after being boiled

  37. Out last night after a fox I've seen a few times but it's very shy. Set up in my chosen spot with the gusting wind in my face . Started with hare distress which produced nothing so switched to chicken in distress which did the trick ? A fox turned up behind me with the wind blowing straight at it yet it just sat there watching and listening. Quickly got on the bipod and dispatched it at around 120 yds. Dont think it was the shy one as wouldn't have hung around but a nice bonus anyway ? It was still very light again last night even with cloud cover and the wind was very strong drowning out th

  40. Blimey this is all very deep !....cant say as ive ever had much experience of folk with real mental issues beyond a few suicides of people you barely knew but something a few years back had a bit of an effect on me its probably an age thing where things that never bothered you before now do and you suddenly grow a conscience from somewhere...but as a few folk will know i did a bit of jail again a few years back and its all a lot different doing time in your 50's to doing it in your 20's and i avoided all the silliness and ego shit that gets you into trouble and just kept my nut down this time.
