  2. Nearly 12 months now and showing all the right signs with the few bits he has done. He has definitely thrown more to the saluki than razor in his build but is the easiest and most biddable pup iv ever had, a real nice dog to have around. Winter seems like a long way off right now but it will soon be here and I can't wait to see what he turns out like.

  4. And your pitting 30kg saluki hybrids against a little puney fcukin hare to plod the fcuking thing into the ground and kill it with sheer fcukin boredom. ???? Leave the foxing lurchers to those that know what they're talking about because clearly you ain’t got a clue.

  9. Had a look on some near me. Can’t say they look ‘busier’ than normal. Not saying there isn’t an increase in rescues due to lockdown, but the impression of there being a crisis is probably good for fund raising. Thing is you look on Gumtree and the like, even adult dogs being sold for hundreds, even thousands. No end to the madness in sight yet.

  11. Ger was an absolute gentlemen. We were digging buddies up until he got sick and sadly he had to hand over the working dog as he wouldn't be able to manage him. That broke his heart. We used to have some craic out with the dogs and also when involved with IWTF business. Ger had a great sense of humour and also insight and wisdom of the dog game and every day life. He would study things down to the fine detail and always had a different angle on things. Always making you rethink what you thought you knew. A proud Corkman and of the White Dogs we worked, he invested huge effort into protecting Te

  16. The funniest thing about this whole last few years of black black black black black in Britain is that when the footballer Dalian Atkinson got ironed out by a copper black lives didnt seem to matter at all, even to blacks.....then some junkie no mark in America gets the same and suddenly we all have to fall to our knees.....how infantile must " British " blacks be to only get annoyed when yanks get annoyed !

  17. Say red collar wins the run up, and gains the initial points, as the course unfolds points are added or deducted from red collar, once the course is completed red collar will be either plus or minus points, and the winner declared, owd Lepus has a role, but a catch isn't important the way it is in single handed coursing

  18. I always have just let the dogs do what they want sniffing smoking holes and never seen any dog get wobbly from doing so either Don, iv'e seen terriers go limp due to clodded up mouths and having their muzzles up holes when ratting and no smoker was being used those times. They just have a sniff then wait if they smelt a rat or just move on and it always amazed me how the feck they do smell them with all that smoke, i'm off out ratting later as it goes and the spade is being used rather than a smoker as it's more user friendly and the folk who's place it is have never seen live ratting so it'

  20. I'm not saying I support the prices or the situation....but....it seems everyone now has a dog, there's dogs everywhere, but the vast majority are in good homes. Most people paying big money for dogs will keep them and will look after them. As has been said a lot of shelters will try to get in the news as extra funding. Let's be honest most shelters we're an excuse for animal obsessed old biddies to hoard animals. We searched all the shelters before getting a pup and the vast majority of shelters were a pain in the arse... "this is tinker belle, she's looking for a forever home, can't be

  21. Locally, we all had whippets,...and we all managed to kill a few hares... Good old times...? Actually,..when you look at the jukels all around our beautiful Island,...the Whippet influence has been phenomenal...The inclusion of these diminutive speedsters within many lurcher types really does make for an attractive and exceptionally useful, rabbiting helper.... ?

  22. Good practice to do that....? I was at a meeting in Alresford once and it was, straight run up,..no turns, just a pick up The Secretary came over to us lurcher boys watching in the crowd and said,.."What do you think lads,..yes or no"? We gave him a resounding no... Fair play to the man, he stopped proceedings on the spot, and we abandoned that part of the Estate and moved onto fresh ground.. I think the hares were obviously sick or had been effected by crop sprays,.whatever ? Its curious that organised Hare Coursing was banned so easily,.when you think of all the

  23. You see women and men posting this type of nonsense all over social media. Usually after their 10th and latest “together forever” relationship has hit a wall in a ball of flames and there’s yet another kid from a broken home that has to sit and watch it all happen. When its going boss eyed all the time I always think to myself “did you ever consider it might be you, you shallow, moronic c**t ?” I know blokes and birds who I genuinely like and have known for a lot of years but when I see their latest “love of my life” post I just think “oh f**k off”

  25. I had barely crawled out of bed yesterday when the phone rang. It was a lovely elderly lady . Her little two acres of wilderness in the middle of town seems to be the the place where any mangey fox on its last legs chooses to hole-up and die. It helps that the garden can't be overlooked due to its high walls. I get regular calls to help them on their way and usually go home with a pot of jam or honey and a small financial reward. I arrived ,parked the van just inside the gate and snuck towards the spot where the fox - a very bald and scabby specimen-was said to be having a nap

  28. With such a diminutive tyke , it is all down to their intent,...and to be honest, a lot of jukels frequently bite off more than they can chew..? I've seen several dogs spit out a vulpine in double quick time, when he retaliates... The small dogs are incredibly useful in dense bracken and rough woodland areas... They are often able to keep in contact with the fox , especially if they bolt fast from a shallow earth. Obviously, not the ideal dog for the job, but if that is all you have available and you are trying to clear an area of foxes, with traps , wires, etc, they do hel
