I think one of the problems of growing old is we forget or deny, what we were like when we were young, I lived on an inner city council estate growing up, but I could buy an air rifle in mums club book, no one to teach you what was right or wrong, fair or fowl , so at that stage of life even a blue tit taking the cream off the milk on the neighbours milk was fair game, much as I hate to admit it I,ve probably shot most song birds over my youth either with a catty or air gun, then when one of your mates past there test and got wheels it was straight out of town hanging out the windows and sunro8 points

Thanks East coast I had never thought about the ears that way. There was a big name breeder in jags who moved from Eastern Europe to the country to the north of me.He drove 2 days south to hog hunt with us.He brought a certified dog in jags. When he arrived and seen my father's jags he immediately said my father should not have bred from his stud because the ears were too short. We took him hog hunting my dad's old stud run a hog for 2 hours until it crossed the river during this time the big name guys world famous jag was by his owners side. But his ears was of correct length.5 points

It's not a holiday fella, at least not if your life consists of more than Netflix/playstation/pornhub. Any farmer that wants me to keep out the countryside can get f****d. I'm as frustrated as anyone with all the townies wandering footpaths for the first time in their lives but the country ain't just for farmers.5 points

It’s a crying shame they don’t push rose veal more in the UK or Ireland, thousands of perfectly healthy calves culled every year....it’s a waste of good meat. I wouldn’t mind, but you can rear them free range cheap as chips4 points

Thanks Mr. Apache I will let you know in 2 or 3 seasons if he works for me ?I have bred strictly for myself.Digging dogs in Dixie is as rare as elephant hunting dogs in England.I do have peddlers around me but no diggers.Dmason to the north A.Scott to the east.My current stud is producing those ears. His best second season son has donkey ears lol.By my estimate all of mine will be prick eared in 5-10 years.Honestly I feel I have had no input on the looks of my terriers.I bred the one s that could swim a creek stay till dug whoop a coon and chase an otter until bottled up.I didn't realize they w4 points

Costs me 100 quid every 6-7 weeks to feed my two. They get lamb, beef, tripe and chicken. All top quality and they throw me a big bag of bones and scraps from pig bones and skin to to offcuts of lamb and beef. Throw a tin of mackerel in every week. Porridge of a morning bit of veg here and there and whatever else we find during the season. They seem to do well on it but think I need to bring the portions down I can see the weight coming on them both the last month since they not working hard4 points

I love how it's just been declared that the accused are two youngsters who don't know any better. Not once has Jetro mentioned or indicated their age... Might well be kids but talk about jumping to conclusions4 points

I agree why have we not seen the government launch a massive advertising campaign to recruit young Brits to get out and do this work for a decent little wage....all done in the same spirit and enthusiasm we are supporting the NHS with every day....this clapping lark has gone from spontaneous appreciation to some barmy enforced jollity where once again the media/government push this cult like mentality on us and abuse each and every nice little idea that comes up to feather their own nests.......and dont give me that " Brits wouldnt do it for that money ".....cut their benefits and give them on3 points

A Virginia State trooper pulled a car over on I-64 about 2 miles south of the Virginia/West Virginia State line. When the trooper asked the driver why he was speeding, the driver said he was a Magician and Juggler and was on his way to Beckley, WV to do a show at the Shrine Circus. He didn't want to be late. The trooper told the driver he was fascinated by juggling and said if the driver would do a little juggling for him then he wouldn't give him a ticket. He told the trooper he had sent his equipment ahead and didn't have anything to juggle. The trooper said he had some flares in the t3 points

23 March seems to be the day everyone got the message finally. That's when Michigan and Ohio made their separate though similar executive orders on social distancing etc. Mostly speaking about the article linked above: I agree we should listen to the science on matters of science. But you can't expect the "World Leaders" (Boris, and Donald come to mind here) to derail a system that is really catching it's stride. Without them exploring other options and factoring the impact. Here we have it pretty bad in the urban areas and the rural areas have it better. So, some see the impact the viru3 points

You would think that would make an ideal opportunity to give a few of our own grown couch potatoes a chance for some work experience. Fookin crazy world this is at present3 points

What I probably didn’t explain very well is that where me and Jetro live there is hardly any wild game about, it’s not like the UK where there are keepered estates and private shoots putting birds down or the abundance of deer, rabbits and pigeons crawling out of every hedge row......it’s just not like that. Compared to the UK these things are practically non existent. To be fair, the “gun clubs” (every area has one) are a bunch of tossers too......they shoot at anything like Elmer Fudd and replenish nothing.......they would rather buy clay traps than rear 50 or 100 birds.
