Well if someone told me at the start of this day I’d be hanging the old dog’s boots up I’d have smirked and said life in him yet. It started like our normal walk only I had had a shitty day An pushes further a field. I always let him bush he always has the bellman on so him An the wee man entered a small block of trees he flushed 4 roe an then Ewan appeared but no old timer. After 10-15 mins whistling I entered the strip not long went till I found him at ground . But my school boy error spade was over a mile away in the car?. We sat for half hour hoping for a bolt, not to be an where he sat wa24 points

I was at work a few weeks ago when a phone call cheered me up no end ,my farmer friend on the other end telling me there were a small mob of goats about causing havoc in his top paddock.....I told him I was tied up till Saturday and would take a wander to see if i could help him out and take one for the table..I was booked in to work but made my excuses to the gaffer and took the day off..So Saturday at 6 a.m . the alarm clock goes off and in the darkness i get my ass out of bed and after a coffee and stash my gun and gear in the car away i go .. I arrive at the farm at just passed 7 an18 points

Liked Baw he made me laugh and proved on the first fishing comp not all Scotsman are tight. Liked Wilf, said it how it was, and had lived a bit, always had good yaps with him on and off the site. Stig was alright i suppose lol Haymin is a top bloke and hardly comes on here, would do anything for you type of man....and once again proved the tight Scotsman thing is a myth Personally I like Desertbred, took loads of shit and handled himself pretty well I reckon... Loads of good posters have gone, and the lurcher section suffers the most now because of it IMO...every threa9 points

It's a right royal f**k up from start to finish...it took them 18 months to get their head around the majority of people in the country want out....the whole pile of them have been point scoring ever since... not one of them have come out of this with any integrity, Boris shouted from the roof tops then bottled it, Farage said his job was done once Brexit vote was cast...it should've been just the beginning for him...Corbyn....well what can you say about that weasel that hasn't been said...and May...well she has had no hope from the start, but managed to make herself look a mug at every turn..7 points

I've had the good fortune to own a few that lasted into semi retirement, Bosun is right, after beating myself up about the earlier dogs in my career IMO It's much kinder to limit where and when you work them. They don't know they're old and tired, the drive that's in them will frustrate and destroy them watching you get out with the younger dogs, it's much kinder to limit their work and to keep their place on the team.6 points

Nail on the head there, mate. The only thing you missed out was that they were able to sneak in a 2.7% pay rise in while everyone was looking the other way.4 points

It's confused the sh*t out of me. They don't want a no deal. They don't want any other deal that has been currently offered. They don't want a second referendum. They've asked for more time but this will only happen if the 27 EU countries concur. So with all that said you're currently due a hard Brexit on 29th of the month as per this timestamp.4 points

This could be one of those times where the EU actually does something beneficial for you. By telling Westminster to f*ck off.4 points

It's nice to hear when someone knows when to call it quits. A lot of folks don't seem to know when and keep going off of ego. Good for you4 points

No no no.... you know the rules, once you leave the European State of Europe and Germany that's it you can't trade, import, export, farm, grow veg, walk the dogs, raise your kids, buy a house, go on holiday.....let alone do anything scientific ffs... The world as us poor, ignorant working class brits are concerned is over.... Better get used to it Joe...4 points

Just my opinion..4 points

A couple of years ago, I went to the South Island of New Zealand and had a great hunt with Glen Dene Station. Went for chamois, nearly got blown off the mountain with wind and rain, so went in search of reds down lower and came home with a 43 x 42 x 42 inch wide 16 point red deer stag. Huge body and heavy. I now have the mounted head at home and it weighs 20 kilograms and make my roe bucks look tiny. I can highly recommend Glen Dene.3 points

Had a very similar thing happen to my old Russell a few weeks back , I was gutted to see he'd opened up old wounds, lower lip not attached again, he's been on easy ones for a while now an this was the easiest one ever, but probably one of his worst 2nd place ever, back in his day he'd of killed it and started eating it in minutes , he's fully retired now as his plastic surgeon says he's had two many chin lifts ?, be careful with him even on the easy ones ?3 points

Yeh he will always come with me mate on your basic walks where there ain’t a lot of holes about , a won’t leave him behind , but I don’t lead him to check places I’ve always had him free hunting flushing to the big dogs. Most the time he’s already in an doing his business by the time I get to him . It’s the places I collar him up and take the spade with optimism that I could have a good day either pushing or him dropping that’s over for him. ?3 points

Here is a knife that I had made by a friend of mine Chris Reade , it holds an insane edge for ages . More interesting is the sheath , the old sheath got loose over time and the knife could fall out . I had a chat to Chris and I asked him if the Sadler who makes his sheaths could make one with a clip . Took a bit of time but he did and it works well . More often I too use an opinel in my pocket and a mora clipper in the truck .3 points

boarhuntingbullies the "American" gentleman who "co-owns" a dog with a guy living in new delhi you really couldn't make it up unless you had ran out of meds ? and your mum had left the parental lock off the keyboard. Markbrick was the ultimate character, character in a good sense, never a dull moment when he was online3 points

Nearly everyone will have a different opinion unless it walks totally from a arse grabber on teeth to a dog that runs of its own accord is to some a jacket to others it's a good dog if it sees things through but one thing that gripes me is lads talking behind folks backs if you don't rate the dog say nothing as you don't feed it2 points

Yeh mate that’s it, we disagree on most things?. I like him in general mate An seeing him worse for wear now isn’t fair. He will still walk and still have collar for safe keep but anywhere I think holes he will be leaded2 points

The much missed Attack Fell Terrier.........blimey, he gave us some good laughs, and came across as a sound bloke ! You still have to go a long way to beat Gnasher vs Krankie. !2 points

Excellent idea ! I've long pondered about having a go, so I'd be interested in learning a bit about it. There's probably specialist forums, but I'll wager that they're populated by the type of bloke I spend my time avoiding, if you know what I mean - we've got some smart fellas on here, so I reckon it could be a runner !2 points
