  3. I'm gonna wade in here.... The waste in the NHS is fuucking disgusting! Paying ridiculous amounts to managers, stupid fees to import Drs to work the weekends from Europe and beyond, not training (on a large scale) the next generation of UK based Drs because they can get them cheaper from India and elsewhere (until they have their experience and move into private healthcare), health tourists jetting in to have kids/cancer treatment/bollocks reduction etc! Why not put money into a 2 year old to potentially save his life and give him a couple more years with his/her family? Sack th

  6. Stephen Lawrence Day............ The latest attempt to persuade us that we now live in a diverse, multiracial society and have moved forward from the 'bad old days'. That we live in shiny, happy melting lots of friendliness and fellowship. Look at the policeman, dancing at the carnival..........see how the politician shares a joke, with a lady in native dress........ A visit to any of our cities or major towns tells a very different story. Yes, society Is more multiracial and it is more diverse - but society is most definitely not integrated or assimilated. What we have is encl

I think sometimes we stereotype dogs by breed, no two dogs are the same even from the same breed, I have to be careful here as I know someone will pick me up on this, my experience is mainly around gun dogs, dispite my farther being a very active terrier man when I grew up, when it comes to training, basic stuff as lead training and sitting, is all apart of instilling boundaries, and that starts very early in my opinion, but most gun dogs really are 18 month to two yr old before they are ready, the thing with a gun dog is you see, or are able to recognise when the dog is ready to move to the n

  9. Thank you for your sentiments, Wilf, but I wasn't looking for sympathy mate. Not at all. I looked at this story, but I was also thinking of little Alfie Evans and many the many others like him. I found the protests outside the hospital today really distasteful, but there is a common thread - and it's not something that should involve anger or outage. They should hold a much deeper emotion than that. All of these cases are desperately sad, for everyone involved, but there comes a time when you have to realise that all hope is gone, and it's out of your hands. In this kind of dreadful scen

  12. Take religion, money, science and all that bollocks out of the equation for a sec. This is someone elses child...since when does 'the state' get to make decisions like this in regards to someone else's kid?, they're decent parents from what I've read....they've been told that their son is gonna die, the decision is out of their hands so put up and shut up. As I said I have no doubt the doctors have done everything they can but surely the dad's on here can understand why these parents are doing what they're doing?

  13. your absolutely f***ing wrong there, no matter what your status is on this forum your f***ing wrong to post bullshit of this type, no matter what costs are involved with any case the NHS has the benefits of the patient as its first consideration, if your own beliefs are life at all costs then they are yours and its up to you if you want to stick to that principle, dragging out a life to continue suffering as medical science is capable of it to satisfy someones hopes or religious beliefs is the act of people who have no understanding of reality

  15. I think you should take a step back on these threads wilf too be fair. This thread is similar to the abortion thread. I'll give you an example why. My first son suffered from fatal foetal abnormality. At the 20 week scan which should of been a detailed scan and because there was 120 women on the public ward things were rushed and things were missed and a quick scan was given with no abnormality and we were sent home. The 24 week scan showed a problem and we were sent to Dublin for a 2nd opinion. The top professor in Ireland Dr Fergus Malone ( google him)was sent down to tell us that our child

Called over to see Chris yesterday to see what was about for a few hours. We had a couple off hours up the copse where we managed 3 woodies, then the light went as the lightning kicked in.With the odd shower and thunder it seemed to liven the wood up.A pair off Sparrowhawks landed no more than 6 feet away and swapped their prey. You could hear the ball of feathers cry for help it was that close.A few squirrels scampered through but never offered a shot.We then went for a cuppa before going out to lamp the fields for a few hours, twas very quiet with Chris only managing to get the one.Enjoying th

  27. I personally have very little sentiment or feeling about things like this, I have my own thoughts that I will keep to myself as many will find them offensive, but my big objection in this and any of the other cases like it, is that a government can have more power and say so over a persons child than the child's own parents and that's were the big problem gets masked by human emotion, if I saw fit to attempt to take my child anywere in the world to hopefully improve there quality of life, I as the parent should have that right and no one else should be able to over rule it, after all the worst

  30. As I said I totally get what the doctors are saying and have no doubt about their motives behind saying it but.... Asking the lads that are parents themselves, would you accept the doctors decision or would you fight to be able to make the decision yourself? I'm with Wilf on parts of this, it doesn't sit right with me that a young couple can make a baby, bring it into the world, love and care for him and then a team of doctors and some uppity f***ing judges can make decisions like this and the parents have to like it or lump it...this is the same thing that happened to little Charlie Gard

  33. Where there is game aplenty ,its' a fine line to keep pups that are willing to go from getting into bother and letting them explore a bit .Had a few mishaps myself but came good in the end .Keep them winning is the old saying that rings true ,dont' overmatch them but let them see as much of whats going on around as possible . When the pup does come of age ,a stage that only time served will allow the terrierman to see ,then let it go of its own accord ,never rush it, encourage it or force it . What goes hand in hand with decent stock alongside bloodlines is the very will to self

  34. Rebel, This setup worked for me. Cut the base of the bench so that it is a snug fit against the sides and back of the house. Attach a board to the front of the base. Fit an aluminium profile to the top of this board. (you can get these in different sizes in B&Q) Screw the profile to the top of the board. You end up with a wooden bench with one one exposed edge and this is protected.

  41. The only thing I agree with vegies, vegans is I don't like some intensive farming methods that's why I grow my own vegetables, and raise chickens for meat and eggs and hunt.Everything I eat has had a decent healthy life and you can taste the difference. To me the only cruelty in meat is if the animal has been badly managed or mistreated, but with increasing population I can only see farming getting more intense with worse coditions for some animals.

  43. Doctors swear the Hippocratic oath - among other things, "to preserve life to the best of their ability". A patient's personal circumstances don't come into it. I'm not one for sharing very personal things on here, but here goes.......... My oldest stepson's second child was born very premature, with multiple complications (which I won't go into). She was ventilated and sedated, being kept alive mechanically. Over many occasions, over several weeks, the effect of the ventilator was reduced, to see if she would breathe unaided. Sadly, she failed each time, but every time, we could hea

The NHS is there mate, it’s paid for, it’s always being paid for, they have a 100 billion quid every year of other peoples money.......Never mind the morality or emotional side, i just dont think they have the right to make that call with a persons little child.
