  1. mooching in the afternoon mist, dog's working the hedgerow, across the dyke there is a row of trees amongst nettles, brambles, ground quite boggy, I was scanning the trees looking for a shot at woodies with the catapult when I saw this chap about 4 feet off the ground, I thought is he dead or asleep, a big dog fox he never moved until I said now then are you asleep, he lifted his head looked at me for a couple of seconds then he was down and off through the brambles.

  2. Yes mate, it definitely does lead to conflict, especially at that level needed 2 strong minded people. I'm over it now, I'm delivering the biggest single contract the company has ever had at around £11.5m. The 2 promoted are sharing the rest of the little jobs between them....... the fact there was no contest for who was delivering this scheme shows me what the big bosses actually think. It was actually also one of the reasons they stated, they didn't want to remove me from this scheme. This scheme will be around 30% of the company's turnover so it is the most important role anyway.

  9. Labours mask is slipping more and more and their far left communist thinking is showing more and more. Starmer has said that anyone with stocks and shares or “ assets “, (whatever that means ), isn’t a “working person”. He has had to quickly row back on that as many “working people” have a few shares and if you own your own home it’s classed as an “asset”. I worked all my life until I decided to retire, and I have a very small portfolio of shares and own my own house, so according to Starmer I’m not a “working person” ! I find this very offensive , coming from a man who has n

  10. I was out running a pair of super fit dogs one mate. Sometimes we would have nights when we would run 2 dogs on a rabbit and keep score the dog who caught the most had the whole bag. Just a bit of fun Anyway we were running on steep banks and as the night went on the dogs started picking there runs and the bag got to 34 and the dogs just looked like they didn't want it, with that in mind and knowing the dogs we knew they weren't fcuked but they just knew those particular rabbits were hard that night. We moved of the banks on to some flatter ground and the dogs run absolutely fine finishi

At least all the other shower of c**ts had the good graces to pretend but not these lot, these are like kids in a sweet shop.

  13. He thing is mate there's no money in it for the west to just go in a flatten the places the ground along with the people in it. The longer these wars drag on for them the more money they can make out of it and they don't give a f**k if there own soldiers die in the process

  18. I actually used your “sweet shop “ analogy when discussing this earlier today ! Labour are proposing all the new laws they would like to impose on us with their student politics mentality but when wiser heads explain , they do a “u turn “. Evidently the no smoking in pub gardens is going to be ditched now. Cheers.

  20. Always helps if the lurcher is a keen killer of foxes, a halfhearted fox dog will be a halfhearted marker of foxes I'm sure there's exceptions to this but it's what I always seen. In my experience if it sees enough and likes them enough marking will come naturally.

  22. You can't really train them to mark time and experience and they'll do it naturally....the biggest mistake I see people making with a young dog is encouraging it to mark warrens and when the dog sticks its nose near they praise it......automatically the dog will register that behaviour is praised and you'll get a false marker

Started to see some fresh signs recently there was one or two back on it. Lurcher Cú marked one in a small briar,Floyd flushed him and got good hunt at him through big briars and bolted twice more. Lovely work out of him.

  28. Removing income tax would be ok, after all, it was only introduced to fund the Napoleonic Wars , and was supposed to be repealed during peacetime. The problems I can see with removing income tax is the shortfall in tax revenue would have to be made up by putting up other taxes, VAT, fuel duty , energy tax, etc, and you can bet your bank managers life that you will end up paying more tax overall no matter what government is in power! Also, what about people who don’t pay income tax , like the low payed, pensioners, etc ? They would end up paying far more in general taxation. Cheers

  33. I think when you critique it yourself again in the cold light of day, you have said it all yourself there mate. There we’re two roles and the other two seemed more open to making it work as a team. If they had wanted someone for an individual role who has to do things on their own then they would have chosen you. Makes total sense to me and is in no way a reflection on your ability, some people just ain’t cut out to share responsibility……I never was and it can lead to conflicts and maybe they don’t want conflicts ? Anyway, all totally logical as far as I can see.

A working terrier should want to work mate more than anything, I personally wouldnt be pushing the dog into anything, I'd try him at every oppertunity if its in him it'll show the more you give him, I'm very patient with a pup/young adult but a 3 year old not wanting it would probably not be here

  36. He does.. Remember that night when old Molly cost me a large sum of money at the emergency vets trigger ? We found her limit that night. On the subject of picking runs. My old dog Doris has made the grand old age of 12 and is still a handy dog in a rabbit catchers tool box. Even with countless injuries and muscle sprains etc she still catches over the warrens and often retrieves for me, even when I'm shooting bunnies at night or day. She's been in my opinion picking runs for the last 8 years or so. If she didn't have the brains to pick wisely she wouldn't have lasted this long. I can
