Been a rough few days...mother in law fell down the stairs 3am on xmas eve..spent 6 hrs xmas morning, keeping her comfortable waiting for an ambulance...shes ended up with 7 broken ribs, broken collarbone, broken shoulder and has managed to pull/stripped the skin from her ankle to her toesdidnt get home yesterday and eat dinner till gone 8 pm,kids opening their presents this morning shes stable now but a bit off it...we had asked her to move in with us a few weeks back as shes not been welk for some time,Im happy to build her a little annexe at the back of ours...dont think she will have muc

Pot roast silverside today, cream mash, garlic and thyme roast spuds, gravy made from the pot juices, and I had a splash more just for Shaaark,

Frame in the pot and a nice turkey stew.

Went ti local hunt, most excellent pigs in blankets lol Will go to few more before end of season they are out every weekend. The old manner house out the back, the old lord shared all this land with my old mate lol Then we popped round my old hunting partner and done a couple more miles out.

The dreaded words I hate to hear from anyone who is out with me " its dead this " well it might of been until you jinxed it!!!!!

Turned out bang on lads. Great flavour and it was moist, unlike any turkey I have had before. Homemade gravy with the juices and giblets. Felt like it's all been worth it already. Then to top it off one of the hens is now laying full sized eggs too, Merry Christmas!

First light this morning just has the moon was going down I was chuffed to see a barn owl hunting over some set a side .

Its a pleasant change on here to read some honesty and wisdom of the experience's of running dogs on different terrains. The breed blind spew that seems to dominate these pages gets boring very quick.

Yeah he's out of old Sparky bud,the dam to this pup is a fair animal too,very well tested so it's bred right enough..very intelligent little thing,doing everything as it should for it's age, been going in with livestock twice weekly since the day after it arrived & upto press doesn't give them a second glance,sits,lays down on command,she's already jumping small fences & she's been on scene when the old dog has knocked one over,every day is a school day when rearing a pup bud as you know.

These pictures remind me of a day tagging along with an older friend to a friend of his' kennels. Well built clean kennels housing well built clean working terriers. I asked what type of dogs they were and was told Border/Lakelands. Just a term of course and open to interpretation but identical in type to the terriers in these photographs. They weren't crosses, I was to find out a few people had them and they were a definite type/strain/family. Late 1970's through 1980's and bit later.
