This was my first lurcher that was all mine, I had just left the Army, I was homeless and considering suicide due to PTSD. I came to hear about this lurcher pup that was being given away as her owners couldn't manage her. I grew up with working Lurchers and was the perfect owner for her. Me and her camped and hunted together, till a mate moved us in with him, then I started my nurse training but we still went out mooching every day and she was my heart and soul dog. I had her until she ran hard into a fence post at 9 years old and I had to PTS. That was 11 years ago and i still mis8 points

I think there's a difference, maybe not in suffering or outcome, but domesticated livestock should in my view be killed as humanely as is practically possible as with wild game but the practically in the field is somewhat different.6 points

To be clear I couldn't give a feck about halal/kosher (funny how only one is ever mentioned ) slaughter or how folk humanely dispatch quarry in the field, I just find it hilarious seeing a bunch of hunters getting their knickers in a twist over animals having their throat slit Try argue with any normal bod on the street that a dog chasing and pulling a deer and slitting it's throat to finish it off is more humane than halal/kosher slaughter, see how far you get4 points
-
Personally for me no it doesn't include them. We should always dispatch as quickly as possible, so I deer caught, in hot blood, as all prey are caught, then cutting it's throat maybe the quickest way to do it. It's simply not possible to use an electric stunning device first as that would, apart from being impractical, prolong things. Rabbits are stunned, with a quick blow. Prolonging things with a domestic animal, for the practice of an alien religion, in the UK, to me is wrong. A farmer, that doesn't need the money, dealing with those cnuts, and allowing that to happen to his stock4 points

Its funny how everytime Fury is involved in making a fight it falls through, yet its never his fault! Unless your Chisora or Wilder you won't get a shot...hes proved that time and time again... shame really as that's how he'll eventually be remembered imo4 points

Young flying Brian getting loaded up ready ,this little dog bolted hundreds of Charlie's from different spots , pipes, Bales , massive spots and even rock piles ,although I don't think I,ll ever get 1 as good as him .4 points

My 1st "lurcher" was a 1st cross collie whippet, that threw to the collie, it taught me that a dog needs the speed to catch 1st and foremost.................. a great knock about for a lad and made me think outside the box and use field craft to get a catch but not an ideal 1st dog. My 1st decent lurcher was a beddy\grey X collie /grey, great little dog, took a lot of game with minimal lay ups. Best £35 I've ever spent.3 points

First dog that was yours fully and a story behind it we always had whippets and when I was 14/15 it was agreed I could own my first dog i read every lurcher book I could find and settled on a collie greyhound I think I filled my dad in on all the bad points of Salukis and bull crosses that you’d read then I got him to take me down to bishop Auckland and I bought a 3/4 saluki 1/4 greyhound bitch for 200 with 20 back luck money and i told him it was a Wheaton greyhound collie greyhound lol god knows why but he never ever pulled me up even when I boasted how obedient and and loyal my2 points

As far as l'm aware if the animal has been rendered unconscious ,in other words "stunned", it is still halal as long as the heart is pumping blood when the throat is cut . Slaughter without stunning is simply a tradition that hasn't evolved to encompass the availability of modern stunning techniques. Interestingly, to be accepted as halal the animal must not be subjected to fear or rough handling handling before slaughter. See BGD's post above ref dogs and deer.....????2 points

Yes TOMO.. I watched G&R from the Saturday night. I recorded it and actually watched it in the week. Yes, it's a shame his voice isn't what it was 30 year ago but that's what happens with most vocalist.. change over time and not for the best. Dickinson out of Iron Maiden is the same. He can't hit and hold the notes like he used to but you have to adapt and change things to suit your range. In Axles defence.. apparently the mixing desk f@@ked up early on at the Glastonbury gig but got it sorted towards end. I seen GnR at main road Man Citys old ground back in '92!! Because they look down on us and sneer at us for being white , heterosexual men. Its a supposed reference to our pink skin. They want us all to be coffee coloured, metrosexuals, ruled by an elite in Brussels and to think that homosexuality, transsexuals and all the other “genders” they believe in is normal. They think that uncontrolled immigration isn’t just right, it should be encouraged! They are the antithesis to the vast majority of people in this country. Cheers.2 points
