  2. Been a while since me and SeanC have got out ferreting together... asked last week "what do you wanna do Sunday mate, fish or ferret"... he was up for a day with the ferrets so half 7 this morning we were off... This is a good bit of perm, you can hit sections of hedge and big banks and knock out half a dozen then move on to the next..that was the plan for today and for once it went like clock work...well after the first section produced nothing, it had me thinking a bit, youngish ferrets, would they push enough (my old faithful have all gone on now and you never give the youngsters enou

  7. If you’ve got public spaces like Recs, village green, sports fields and worst of all carrying a spade!! cemeteries, you need to get there just before dawn or in dark. Use a trap that doesn’t show when set or fired - you’ve got Trapline, Putange and nomol to use. Cover the trap site with hill soil to look like a molehill and mark it with something natural - twigs, twisted grass, patted soil a few feet away either side from the trap. I’ve also made false set sites by digging a turf and placing it beside the hole so that they are drawn to interfere and find no trap.

Just say she was walking the f***ing thing. this is all very strange and I’ve lost interest now so who gives a shite. More to life going on 40k dead in Turkey Russia getting ready for war. yet everyone’s worried about willow and Nicola who’s now apparently a alcoholic and bit of a nutcase. people go missing all time boring

  23. Deerhound/greyhound, just bred for hunting over here for 200 odd years but there are different types with other stuff added. The dog I had was as tall as a big deerhound but bigger boned and ginger colored. He wasn't even looking at game until over two but once started he didn't look back.

Bigger the dog slower it matures so no dog going to be in peak unless it's fully grown . Are staghound just deerhound X ? My old whippet X catching before 12 months and snaffled a rabbit in hedgerow day before he passed away at 14 .

  28. They are very popular. But lots of breeds are good for meat (terminal breeds). I wouldn't call them jack of all trades, because they aren't that good(!) Like anything, you have to make compromise. There are breeds that are easier lambing but never get as well muscled. Breeds that grow quicker, breeds that grow slower. I think texel are so popular because they tick lots of boxes without being perfect in any one box - if that makes sense? I also think they have benefited from very good, Pro active society. And lot of people use them just because everyone else does!! They've grown on m
