  1. Lol... Fella no one's giving up. Just it's 2023 I've been defending terrier work at the top in Ireland for over 10 years... I still hunt at least twice a week... But what is happening is a major shift on killing animals for sport or fun and imbeciles posting horrific cruelty to animals for fun and recording it or taking pictures of it. And as a hunting man the cruelty I've been sent to say how do you defend this...the simple answer is you can't. So what you can do is carry on and hunt within the law as is for now... And be greatful .

  2. Just in the process of doing one up myself, I bought one part converted ish, but gonna rip it all out and start again and add windows roof vent and get rid of double bed as it will just be for me and the dog for a little weekends mooching here and there. Probably won't stay on campsites much , just ruff it hear and there. It's only a swb low roof, but be big enough for me and the dog.

  3. Must admit i read posts like Francies posts above and others and while i wholeheartedly agree with the content it amazes me that so few people are actually willing to stand up and address why this is all happening, why we are being stripped of our identity, why our traditions and cultures are being taken from us. " world renowned traditions " is what it says above.....well why is nobody asking why its only white people who are being stripped of these things.....Africans/Indians/Mexicans ( the rest of the world ) are allowed and encouraged to carry on how they always have....so why only whit

I dont think Greyman is " asking " anyone to believe anything he's just sharing his opinions like anybody would on any subject of interest they're passionate about......you used the " pink rabbit " scenario and again.....how many times would i need to tell you i dont believe you,once/twice maybe.....any more than that and it just looks like a personal dig......im sure you're a good guy but you're coming across like a dick mate and its getting boring quite frankly......but again, not my argument so you crack on how you like

  6. Was a time you’d just get a nod and pass the time of day .The Internet has a lot to do with the downfall of society never mind hunting . I can remember getting into a bad place near me on my own on a huge sand pit .The foreman came over and before I knew it there were 8/10 blokes lined up with grafts plus a digger on its way from the far side . Hate to think what getting caught in a similar place now would entail . The digital age has been the downfall I’m afraid .

  7. Have to say i think you lads are being a bit unfair with Mchull here i mean nobody go's out to get caught at anything you could have a dust up in your local boozer and end up with a 10 stretch over a fraction of a second reaction so does that mean everyone should back down in a confrontation ? It could be anything money or pleasure nobody breaks the law with the intention of getting caught and none of us are whiter than white i think yous are going a bit over the top with the lad myself.

Some times the juice is no longer worth the squeeze some people will admit it some won’t some will try an hold on for as long as they can before realising but it don’t mean the people that have realised are pussys or jackers it just means they have priorities that now come before running there dogs.

  9. We were never in the fight gnash to answer that question when you take a step back and look at it , lurcher and terrier work is pretty abhorrent to the general populace. How can you explain setting two 27 inch coursing dogs into a herd of fallow at 20 mph from an outback or spending your Sunday morning waist high in a hole with a terrier beneath the soil having its face rearranged by old Tommy brock and expect them to understand ?? tradditional country sports have suffered in Time old fashion of things becoming outdated . The mobile phone and all the ancillary app’s associated with

  13. Thats fair enough mate but if i truly didnt believe that whole " pink rabbit " scenario i wouldnt need to tell you a second time that i dont believe you .......id just tell you to crack on i definitely wouldnt be making 700 odd posts arguing with you about it,and thats what makes you come across as having some kind of personal bollock ache with Greyman....i mean without wishing to sound impolite it makes you sound a bit of a berk and im nobody to knock lads like yourself who know and understand more about hunting and the countryside than i ever will.....its just general poor manners and sillin

  14. I picked this Jill up at the end of year before last. I had two jills and one died so I needed company for her. It was start of season and all kits had been sold. But found guy on fb one left. When I got there the kits he was keeping were all over the wire to come out. The one he was getting rid rid of he couldn’t find it. She was hiding in bottom level in corner behind some thing a nervous wreck. I didn’t give it second thought as she was just company for other one. Got home and few months in she was still a wreck and ran and hid. I said to mrs I cocked up there no chance of working she’s jus

  15. Got to see several deer this afternoon. Fallow at about 700yards. I had to cross snow with just a thin birch tree line between us. I got to about 170yds before they busted me and moved off. It was a tall order but I loved every second of it. Had I took my sticks I may of been tempted for a shot. Anyway I decided to retire and wait for dark sat under a large oak. As it got dark along comes Charlie. He walks right past me and at forty yards he got the shock of his life! A splendid afternoon ?.

  16. With all due respect we aren’t talking about tales of the old poacher type scenarios now it’s the door coming in , your dogs taken away , regardless of breed , as in the house poodle , the frenchy , the works , banned from owning , cars taken , licence gone , unlimited fine and 12 month behind the door . After which , it’s splashed all over the paper , akin to being a beast in the eyes ? d the public . the only people who can swallow that are lads for who things like that are the normal form anyway. When they outlawed coursing , only the outlaws could course .

  18. The problem isn't the law but society, peoples opinions have been changed and that is the problem. If lads are happy to nip out for the odd dig then fair enough but if I'm gonna work dogs it's all are nothing, and if I can't have that then I'll settle for nothing, I know more lads that have packed it in in the last 5 years than the previous 30, things have changed and it isn't going back any time soon.

I couldnt agree more but come on mate how many of us havent done silly risky things for relatively little reward at times.....its whatever floats your boat i suppose but that whole " sensible " head doesnt fit everybody every time you know that.....what a boring life it would be if nobody took risks i just dont think theres any moral high ground about your silly/risky behaviour being worse than my silly/risky behaviour its just fellas doing what fellas do in my opinion.

  28. The Sun that's appeared for the last couple of days seems to have brought the foxes out during the day in my area . No doubt the the thawing fields have made grubbing about a bit easier for them than it's been for a couple of weeks . Though some seem simply content to bask in the warmth . I shouldn't have been surprised when just as l thought l might have an early finish this afternoon l had a call from a customer. She's a lady in her nineties who despite using a walking- aid still maintains a bit of a smallholding. It wasn't that long ago that she shot her own foxes -usual

  30. Forums eh? Im just here to read about dogs and pick up a bit of knowledge. I'm out 3 hours a day (3 x 1 hr walks) . This young dog (and ive only ever had bitches) just has so much energy and was really destructive when i got him - him destroying the young couples £1500 sofa was the last straw and how i ended up with him. I found that he just needed knackering out and he calmed down a lot. I got him in May but in October had a bit of a health issue.. i got a problem with my leg- turns out i have PAD (peripheral artery disease) which is a blocked artery that makes walking bloody murde

  31. Getting treated yet again for my birthday early March. Daughters chap and his dad run a fairly well known gym in Leicester. They are putting on, I think, 15 MMA fights with 2 belts to be won. I’ve a sneaking suspicion I’m going to be headlining something. Anyway, ringside so all’s good. Jok.

It’s only a hare for ffs you’d think he was going out to kidnap kids mans Been hunting with dogs since before time punishments have been much worse in the past and it’s still going a strong as ever. every year since the ban came in same war cry every year…. Soon as some one gives up the dogs, it’s finished its finished jobs f****d everyone will be packing them in soon ect ect. Instead of just putting there hands up and saying they’ve had enough of hunting and moving onto something else always this stigma about of people always wanting to be known as dog men ( no shame in

If your yapping about what you do on an open forum, stating you don't give a f**k about the law on an open forum, putting pins in a map of your where abouts on an open forum... then you obviously don't give a f**k about operation galileo or any other covert police operations on coursing... proper hard core!!

  36. I first followed hounds aged 13 and have hunted, shot or fished at least once a week since then. Just over 30 years. I've been in hunt service, been a keeper, hunted with 40 odd packs of hounds (I think, will count my list later). Think over the last 6 months it's more or less ended for me. Spent my entire life fighting for fieldsports in many many ways. Just can't do it anymore. Good mates all left hunt service recently, farm I grew up on built on, pack I worked for given up, lost all local hunting on water board land where I grew up. My eldest lad has no interest, youngest is sho

  37. It’s ingrained into their culture though mate . I recently travelled across Europe via car and spent the entire time looking at the troves of game there , lifting with hare and deer in French , Belgian and German fields . the idea that a couple of mill chucked into the coffers of new Labour by lacs in the early thousands has killed the breeding lines feted by the hunting man is nothing short of a canine tragedy imho , those old running and digging lineages are almost at their nadir , dogs fit for purpose will disappear entirely in the next twenty years . those mounted packs

  40. I think Stiff is right, for your average man hunting with dogs is not ever gonna be accepted, as hunting men we can argue the positives until we are blue in the face but they will never understand. Couple that with videos and pics on social media usually put up by muppets that shouldn't own a dog in the first place and you add the fuel to the fire... The technological world is taking over, kids are on phones, computers, gaming etc more than we ever did, its how they socialise... I'm sure all of us have taken our kids out and shown them our way of life, but few of them really grab hold of

  43. When the Scottish law came In , sone very committed dog lads packed in or downloaded their weaponry to almost comical standards . A lad I knew with arguably the most pure line of black stuff I’ve seen and had 27 inch half crosses was within two years running greyhounds at the track and Russell’s . Similar a legendary lamping lad was keeping beddy whips for ferreting as he was literally a target as soon as he crossed the border . a lot of people don’t realise that the cops can make it massively untenable to continue onwards . catching dog lads is a massive easy win for the coz
