they should have access to fresh food every single day mate, you shouldn't make them wait 2 days...tell your pal to buck his ideas up??10 points

Haven't been out foxing for what seems like ages, too busy stalking and rough shooting. So decided to have a trip out yesterday in search of Reynard. Had a great night accounting for 5 ? One of them was a big dog which did a 100-yard death run down the field after taking a 100 grainer from the .243 This got me thinking, I wonder how many foxes are presumed missed when actually doing a death run? There was no reaction to the shot, it just looked like I had missed, just as well I followed it in the beam.7 points

Been there, done that mate, put coin and effort into a few different ventures over the yrs...but greed and human nature take over, and I walked away ,easy come, easy go...it's hard to find the right lads who pull their weight if I'm honest, lads I work for now look after me,money's always there,I can come and go as I please, they need me more than I need them?..my plan is to be done working when I get to 50.. bullet whatever dogs I got, sell up everything and spend my days on the road... travel around doing bits and bobs for pocket money and not tied down to anyone....I can't wait to load up the van7 points

Managed to get a wee bit permission on a sports complex where the rabbits are digging up the pitches etc, took 16 off it the other week and another 9 this morning with still a fair but to do. Fair keeping the wee freezer filled, done a banging rabbit chilli through the week7 points

Mate gave me some sausages from his last weeks pig, decided to try my first go at toad in the hole, used Scott reas batter recipe, my onion gravy was possibly a little overly rich, but still happy with my attempt overall.5 points

Reading between the lines mate I think Max has been made a scapegoat for the sake of keeping the peace .I’ve stuck up for him numerous times but unfortunately he’s his own worst enemy .If he’d only just come back on and keep his head down for a while ,he would integrate without the obvious paper trail he leaves but he seems to think he’s that important and entitled so as to be allowed to say what the feck he likes to whoever he likes .Paulus has made the decision to sack him and personally ,unless Max has a huge change of heart and tows the line ,I think it’s the right choice at this point in5 points

Ferrets have a tiny digestive tract meaning the food they eat passes through very quickly. A ferret will eat up to 6 separate times over 24 hours so need a constant supply of fresh food. Go and take the ferrets off your friend and give him a slap.5 points

I have nothing to be jealous of, I done a great lot with my life, enjoyed it all, especially the hunting. If I never hunt again, or even take another breath I cannot complain because I have had more than my fair share. I truly wish others could experience the life Ive had, sadly this could never happen now.4 points

Another vote for letting them put on weight. Ferrets should be looking great at this time of year with a dense coat. You never know what's coming, tough weather, illness etc winter is hard on little critters4 points

I don't do sand slug or collie in a dog mate...I want something to keep the coat...I've a choice of proven horrible lamping half bull grey types but want something with a coat and height....there's still some decent broken coated types about that had a decent injection of good bull blood...that's the route I will be going and the lads that will be having pups if it materialises ?4 points

Not at all, a very quiet man when alive! bred more great terriers than most people will ever know, but he stayed below the radar and asked people not to use his name in public. He lived not far from Radborn estate in Derbyshire. When plumber was introduced to him, Plumber did his usual questioning and one was, "how come every now and then you throw a pure white smooth, when the rest are patch broken coats". You guessed yet?, answer was, " because I used a dog called the Hackett white," the story was retold many times afterwards but as usual the names were changed. The white3 points

Yes, lovely wee tyke...? Actually,.. a few decades ago,.. there was a real spate of Wherriers in my area.. Like so many hybridisations, it all started from an unplanned mating,...but luckily,.. enough local lads fancied giving the resulting litter a brave go, to make the mistake worth while.? I had a real corker given to me, and enjoyed working her on the rubbish tips and factory yards,.. but after a while I gave her to my Sister to keep on her smallholding, in Wales. Facts were,. .back in the day,.. there was no real need to keep a dog that could not handle the business that3 points

Seen a few back in the day good alround lurchers when beddy and deerhound crosses were more popular the beddy brought the size down and those i saw were better stamina and recovery after a run than the lurchers just with deerhound and greyhound in the mix another reason i have always said that lurcher to lurcher is the best way to go when breeding versatile types for edible quarry imho.3 points

Every time plumber wrote a book, showed up at a fair etc etc, there would be another bunch of sycophant's tuning up on his doorstep. when I say this, I do not say it lightly, there were countless thousands of wanabes that would follow his every word. Some of these were so badly hooked they stayed at his side for months on end doing his bidding.3 points

As DC said feed every day and they need the extra fat for the cold days. Rather see ferrets with a bit of bulk than snipey thin ones that can’t do a days work3 points

I loved phoenix nights , but not bothered about his stand up . Frankie Boyle for me . I hate the guys politics. But his audience put downs are quality. I am probably the only person on here who liked Tramadol nights . Having been attached to a Scottish regiment years ago , I speak fluent Glaswegian and for some reason I like the way Billy Connelly and Kevin Bridges and Frankie Boyle deliver humour .2 points

Tomo you seem a decent genuine lad max gets back on and straight away his targeting lads looking for a rise there is no input in his posts just looking for a argument then he must ring you straight away for you to ask why he his banned on a site he's slagged of as meanless ect he is own worst enemy but unless your agreeing with him on whatever subject he will get personal every time you only need to look at his posts yes things have been said at him that are out of order but he's started with most and replied in kind2 points

DEFRA aren’t interested. They are more concerned with the white meat industry. Pigeons don’t seem to get it , but are probably vectors. Along with migratory wildfowl. There aren’t any restrictions selling or putting your birds into the food chain . So as long as you have birds ,do your best with bio security, foot dips wheel washes etc, and keep shooting seems to be the best advice .2 points

I think everyone who wants to, remembers in their own little way. I’ve never been one for the big parades. Never liked mixing with the big wigs as they are not my kind of people. Each to their own. I found a plaque up on the Moor a few years ago so always head up there, crack my flask and enjoy the silence. Think of absent friends and the families they left behind.2 points
