  3. 40 years ago we didn't have £50 a month mobile phone contracts. We didn't have Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple, Sky monthly contracts. We didn't have a new car every two years on lease. We cooked our own dinners, we didn't have them delivered by Just Eat. We would get a bus, not an Uber. Absolutely nothing wrong with any of the above, but if you are going to live above your means, don't blame the government.........blame yourself. Does anyone take personal responsibility anymore ? Cheers.

  4. I could personally say that my misses holds my house and life together . all this stay at home nonsense didn’t work for us . It’s a big ask for a girl whose worked from 15 to wrap it all in at 32 to look after the kids and sit and scrimp and save . Both ours went to nursery , we lived within our means but it wasn’t enough . Not sure if anyones brought up kids lately but it’s a dear doo , with clothes , days out etc but what are you meant to do ? Let them go about like urchins ? Keep them in the house all day ? I’ve seen kids of 16 going round in f***ing Dora the exp

  7. What's funny in this particularly instance of nonsense, is that VAT is probably the most obvious tax out of all of them. We're told about it just about every time we purchase something. It's probably more in your face than even income tax.

  8. My cousin is a single mum of 3, divorced. She works herself ragged but if she cops for a parking ticket it really hurts her, she is barely getting by. Dont blame the people, blame the f***ing system that just wants to ruin everyone all the time.

  9. My point was, as I’m sure you know, you can’t just say “f**k the lazy c**ts let them starve” because it may have nothing to do with lazy. I know plod round my old way were tugging the take a way delivery drivers who work nights to supplement their day job because they didn’t have “commercial” car insurance to deliver chips ! Sometimes, things are stacked against people who have neither the education or ability to earn more than they do.

  10. I'm certainly no supporter of taxes, but I consider them a necessary evil. Forget benefits for a moment, what about the armed forces, the NHS, education, the police, fire services, ambulance services, old age pensions, roads and infrastructure, etc ? All paid out of taxation. The lower the taxation, the less we can spend on all of the above. Of course vast amounts of money is wasted, just take the millions we spend each day on illegal immigrants, then the almost $20 BILLION we give away on overseas aid each year, all taken from the tax pot ! I hate to sound like a politicia

  37. It was much the same when I started match fishing around 1970. There was an old bloke who always wore a Gaberdine mac and trilby. He was like a robot on the Trent, fishing stick float and centrepin. He always did well. Those coach trips to the Lincolnshire and Nth. York's rivers in summer and the winter matches on the Trent were brilliant. I was in two clubs, both run by Barnsley area WMCs. One was match fishing and the other inshore boat fishing. The outings were fortnightly on different weeks so one week I'd be off Scarborough or Whitby and the next on the Swale or Witham. All the angle

  38. To be honest I can understand farmers shooting dogs on their place, it would be bad seeing animals you have spent your life breeding destroyed in a nights rampage. Some go overboard as said and just hate all dogs which is childish and dumb behavior. It's always the owners fault if the dogs are loose on a killing spree, not the dogs.

  42. I sometimes shoot single tubes mainly 3060 and 4070 with 10mm lead / hex nuts / 11mm steel. I either snare wrap and tuck them straight to the frame or use tabs. Personally I find them more accurate with tabs. pros - great for big ammo or found objects, very quiet, last bloody ages cons - heavy pull weight for speeds compared to flats, i tend to get more fliers with tubes than flats. Like anything practice helps consistency. I keep the same anchor point and gangster hold as i do with flats. I also shoot best with a 100mm outer so I don't bother with the classic tool hook sty

  43. I thought it was all part of the "Net Zero" plan ? Keep petrol, diesel, gas, electric prices artificially high so we wean ourselves off them and reduce the carbon emissions. In 2008, Oil was $130 a barrel, petrol was under £1 a litre, now oil is $90 a barrel and petrol is almost £2 a litre. Go figure ! Cheers.
