Thanks mate, genuinely, this is the first time I’ve done anything like this, 2 years ago before the bat flu I was HGV mechanic for 25 years, the lad who’s working with me is a ground worker ( drains, foundation’s, concrete, that type of sh*t ) which helps because he’s sh*t hot in a digger, my plan was to do a couple of years at it the go back to fitting, but I’ve started buying dewalt gear now instead of snap-on and I don’t come home stinking of diesel anymore, so as long as the jobs keep coming I think I’ll keep working for myself a bit longer ?

There are limited numbers of Red round my way (and never even seen a CWD in the field) but my .243 has served me well for all deer to date. I also have .308 but it gets more use on the Range than in the field. I use the 150g in the .308 and it really is an easy shoot, mine is a Remington 700 SPS Stainless Light barrel and is surprisingly easy on the shoulder! I've never actually shot the 6.5 but I have the 270 numerous times, not a fan. Have you ruled out a 308 for some reason?????

I have seen the documentary on those brothers, very interesting. I got started on one of the YouTube videos yesterday after reading this thread, I think stuff like this is great.
