Despite a sad year, we have still so funny adventures, thanks to our dogs. I present You Prunelle, 18 months, patterdale female during a walk. At the beginning, this was just a little walk.23 points

Heads up on saving time on Christmas morning. I’ve come across these tinners. Going to save some time and effort for sure. Two and a half minutes in the microwave and ping, it’s done. I don’t know what my lot are moaning about it, I’ve got them a tin each. ?7 points

You're sounding more than a little condescending and sanctimonious there fella. Don't think there's any need of that, to be honest.5 points

You would think that when areas that have never voted anything but Labour; people who would normally.rather gouge their own eyes out with a rusty spoon than vote Tory; grizzled old miners and their families to whom Thatcher was and still is, the devil, turn away from Labour and Corbyn and vote in an eighty seat majority Tory government, that Labour would have finally seen the light, but no, they never learn....... It all sounds like a great adventure but alas the farther we are from the primitive the more idyllic it seems, less so up close. ? Living with toothache for months, dying horribly from gangrene following a small cut that becomes infected, wife dies in childbirth after losing the majority of previous children under 3 years old.4 points

Ten things to ponder as 2020 draws to a close. 1. The dumbest thing I bought this year was a 2020 planner ?? 2. 2019 Stay away from negative people. 2020 Stay away from positive people-might roll this on into next year ? 3. The world has turned upside down. Old people are sneaking out of the house and their kids are yelling at them to stay indoors. ?? 4. This morning I saw a neighbour talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came to my house and told the dog.....we had a good laugh ? 5. Every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit. Pyjama4 points

Now, I don't Champion the deerhound or its cross any more than the Beddy, Saluki, whippet, whatever. Ive owned a lot of crosses and pure, good and bad. The deer x bitch I have now done EXACTLY what I brought her in for, and I had ten seasons of enjoyment from her. There seems to be a lot of people with negative views on them, that's fine, I don't like collie or bull crosses, I keep what I like and am happy with. I wonder how many decent deer crosses people have actually seen work, and I don't mean heard about, I mean actually been out with them a few times and watched them4 points

Was working with my pal many years ago at a private home in an outside office they had built. Anyway they had a dog that was always in and out, friendly old thing. So, we were working away and my pal manages to take the top off his thumb with a Stanley knife, so I quickly grab whatever padding I can and a load of black tape and try and tape it up because it was squirting blood like a hose pipe. That done I look down and the top of his thumb is laying there on the floor so I pick it up and just at that moment old Fido comes wandering in to see what all the commotion is about.....3 points

There was no shortage of this type in the 90's mate, they were popular up here in the north east, along with 3/4 greyhound types. I'd be surprised if we ever see a revival3 points

I think that is a key part of it, and I don't have an answer as to why but you see it time and again that people who shoot want to introduce it to the lives of youngsters. I guess its because we simply know the good it feeds our souls on so many levels. The joys of success, importance of self belief with dignity. The chance to really learn how our countryside works & how each species interacts with the other. I think you can learn lessons that see you through life by being a shooter (driven, rough, pigeon, fox, wildfowl). And that is why I want my daughter to follow me & I'm also3 points

We always have a Boxing Day shoot . 10.00 am meet in the fisherman’s car park. It’s a boundary day/morning. The only difference this year is the bun fight / meal afterwards , that is usually a venison stew with a French stick and wine is not going to happen. But the shooting will , and it will be followed by a socially distanced flask of tea after . I absolutely love this day , all the youngsters are out with new boots and coats or guns . Their enthusiasm is infectious , and I get a real kick out of seeing the next generation turn a pheasant inside out , or “ pillow case” one , and then carry3 points

I am just so pleased that you have decided to leave things alone for now Jimmy and as I have said, you need time and rest my old friend then perhaps, just perhaps just may feel a little bit better to the point that you may enjoy and walk out with the gun. There are a number of people who will be pleased to take you out including me but I suspect that Si has more rabbits available than me. When this rather nasty virus has been beaten, even though it is going to take quite some time yet but when that day comes, we can get together for some clay busting Jimmy and raise a glass to Nat even3 points

Or is it some of us hope (secretly or other wise) for a rest, to get back to simpler times. Some of us are home sick for times we never knew, simpler farming and hunting practices, with basic living, closer to nature, Atb j3 points
