  1. Anybody get stressed about Christmas Dinner ? Read this from a Sheffield butchers . I’ve pinched this, but it’s fab!! ?Christmas Dinner.... I have concluded that the inevitable stress of Christmas dinner is created by adverts, supermarkets and TV chefs... It's a Sunday dinner for goodness sake!!! The only difference is that you are allowed to open a bottle of wine before you open the kitchen curtains. ??? ?We do it quite happily 51 weeks of the year but can we the consumers be trusted to manage by ourselves on one day of the year...apparently not! Here goes...?

  2. Young bitch had a cracking day today, she’s only about 9 months at the moment, but today she put out two fox, a munty, several roe and plenty of pheasant and partridge. Did her first bit of picking up, mainly runners, and managed a couple nice partridge and three good pheasants.

  5. I hear lads talk about big foxes from time to time but very rarely do I believe them either due to exaggeration by lads prone to same or just lack of pics . Last night I shot the biggest fox I’ve ever seen ,huge head and 43 inches from nose to tail .I used my works shovel as a gauge as no tape with me .Shovel is 40 inches and tail was 3 inches longer than that . He was curled up out the middle of a field ,digesting a huge meal no doubt as he was fat as can be .Hope the pics do him justice .Here he is against a run of the mill dog fox .Legs far longer than any fox I’ve ever seen .

  7. There's a massive difference between a"raconteur" and a "bullshitter". Raconteurs take a true story and embellish it to make it more interesting or amusing for the benefit of the listeners. Bullshitters tell blatant lies to make THEMSELVES look more interesting or amusing. The Internet has given them a huge audience, and there's allways the get out; " I was only on a wind up" when they get caught ! Cheers.

  11. Not a dig at you personally mate, but when this type of lurcher is mentioned on here, tons of posts like yours will be said, or very similar, 'make good little rabbit dog, or nice little bunny basher/lamper', etc. Facts are, many of these types can be extremely useful on all quarry, fur and feather. A couple of the better dogs I've owned have been exactly this type, grey/collie/whippet, no other blood, and took all sorts of quarry day and night. Seen same types owned by others do the same. Bear in mind though, no red deer were taken with them though lol. Might possibly be a case of som

  13. Look mate, nothing personal but I ain’t seen my old mum who is 89 with a heart condition in nearly a year. There is 65,000 corpses in the boneyard in the U.K. and 2 million walking deaths sentences to the old and venerable......there are absolute clowns walking about like they ain’t got a care in the world and the virus is raging out of control so I didn’t want to fly over there and potentially bring something into her that may kill her ! Nobody is doing it here but if I went over there at this precise moment and bumped into one of these “it’s all fake” f***ing idiots I’d put him in

  16. Just to show it’s not all doom and gloom my daughter has been nominated and won a local hero award for her work through the pandemic, we may not believe all the shit being pumped at us on the news but are willing to help others, and she has worked right through all of it looking after key workers kids and she has raised £1000s of pounds to provide Christmas food hampers for the less fortunate on the estate, which she is out delivering as we speak so the fact we don’t go along with all this pandemic and vaccine bollox actually means we can help others out who are suffering, if she was scared an

  22. I don’t think you can compare terriers to each other they all got different usage for different jobs used for Lurcher breeding mate the other types are used for different reasons look at bull greyhound the bulls or Wheaton not a catch dog of fox or deer until hybridise then your like hey up now we cooking we got a good strong dog fast enough with holding power or enough bite to kill quickly it’s like all raw ingredients they feck all till mixed together but most hybrids there’s always something missing it’s never ending like bull greyhounds most get put to courseing dogs straight beddys are fe

  24. Hand feeding again this morning ahead of tomorrow’s shoot and my god it’s wet, I managed to get the bike stuck twice, the birds are concentrated in 3 drives ( Gordon’s pen and both sides of the piggeries) with a few small drivers to fill the day in and a bit of luck it should be a good day. With the way Ireland and the sheep bothering nation have announced further lockdowns after Christmas there’s a chance that this could be the last day of the season . I had a little big game hunting while I was up there, taking down 6 tree beasts, I’m going to have to put a couple of feeders out for them,

The white one I would have shot but the owners wife took a liking to it , the other one I sat and watched for five or six minutes , from no more than thirty yds while I was sitting on a quad bike with the engine running ..this was his first year as one of the master bucks on the estate , and this was his rutting stand ..the following year he was the number one buck on the estate a position he held the year after as well .. I ended up shooting the white buck four years later on a different farm after it was involved in

  35. Don't know really is this belongs in this thread or the 60's one, well here goes anyway. One day in the late 60's I decide to go shooting, all I had was a old single barrel Winchester Cooey. So set of with the stock in one hand and the barrel with fore arm clipped on to the barrel. Well I set of walking and gets to the square at the bottom of the town on the way to my perm when a copper pulls up. He gets out right Arry the gun has to be in three bit if it's not in a case and yours is only in two. I handed him the gun and said put it back together then, he tried and tried. After few minute
