I plan to sit and pass my level 2 pest control,I payed for the coursework more than 10 yrs ago,but life and a young family sent me in a different direction mate....the Mrs has plenty she wants done around the house lol...so between that , there will be plenty of family/chill time,got a few commitments that I can do in my own time,no rush or stress....I would like to run a fishery few days a week or maybe do some guiding etc ,but on a wage,don't need big money or want the worry of overheads...if the price is right,then I could be tempted to jump back on the tools.....cash in the hand only...

Any job you do long enough I reckon will become fuking boring. It’s the robot, type repetitive jobs that sort of become addictive ( bricklaying) I’d love to stop but I know I would miss it but I think I’m almost burnt the f ….k out. I think with my working life coming to an end i can't wait to retire and if i was in a job were plenty of overtime was available and not as physically demanding i would probably be working all the hours godsends just so i could put more coin away to retire earlier.

As with anything, nothing is set in stone, just been told by a lad i used to work with that they're setting on at the end of the month. Silly as it sounds, I'd be jacking in a job with a lot less hours but ATM I'm rostered 8 Saturday nights out of 13 with the chance of being rostered 10 out of 13. Sounds crazy trying to take a job with more hours but I've said it before, I'd rather do 50 hours on days Monday- Friday than 35 hours on nights including weekends.

Hopefully by the end of the month I'm off the railway and working for a firm doing works for Yorkshire Water, drainage, I don't mind it mate tbh.
