I think Inheritance Tax is one of the most egregious taxes there is. If someone works and pays Income Tax, invests wisely and pays tax on their dividends, pays tax on the interest their money in the bank earns, pays capital gains tax on a second property they bought and improved and sold on at a profit, why should they pay tax on what they leave to their children when that money, assets, etc has been taxed many times over already ? Here’s one for the conspiracy theorists; Labour are going to make it impossible for small, family farms to be owned by working class people. They also passed a little noticed law in the budget reducing the discount on buying your council house, making it even more difficult for a working man to own his own house. Never mind, Labour MP Emily Thornberry , real name Lady Nuger, bought a council house with full discount then sold it at a huge profit. Angela Rayner, Labour MP and Deputy Prime Minister, and her husband bought TWO council houses and sold them at a profit. Bu6 points

They aren’t “chipping away “ at them mate; they are going to destroy family owned farms. Up to now, farms and agricultural land had zero rated Inheritance Tax, meaning a farmer could pass on his farm to his children when he died. Now Labour has put 20% Inheritance Tax on farms and agricultural land. Family farmers are normally asset rich, ( land, buildings, equipment, stock, etc), but cash poor. Now if a farmer dies his family won’t have the cash to pay the “death duties” and will have to sell up to pay the tax. Big business will buy up the land, leave it fallow or put trees5 points

I doubt I’ll reach the threshold to pay Inheritance Tax, but if the threshold stays the same as it is now, with inflation, rise in house prices and pay increases it’s the younger generations that will be affected by fiscal drag taking them into higher income tax brackets and Inheritance Tax liabilities. Taxes that used to only affect the rich are suddenly on the horizon for the middle and working classes. Cheers.4 points

40 billion or something there bringing in from increases that's 40 billion you or I or any one else aren't going to see a penny of or benefit from. they seem to be chipping away the farmers and destroying them bit by bit simple as this no farmers = no food4 points

I watched the whole Trump podcast today, and I brought home just what deep shit Britain is in……I don’t think it can be put into too stronger terms what is happening in front of our eyes. We have been cutting chunks out of ourselves with a Stanley knife for years, but at that last election we literally put a shotgun in our mouth and pulled the trigger……we have elected absolute extremists. It couldn’t be any worse if a foreign nation was marching troops on to the beaches and subjugating the populace…..it is, imho, as bad as that. Everyone shouted about the tax rise this week……nobo3 points

My first boxing coach and all round local legend passed a week ago. He was a proper character and well liked by all who knew him. Kept plenty of us estate urchins out of trouble, well, for awhile at least. Anyway, local rag has done a good write up for those who like reading about such characters...R.I.P. George, I'll be there at your send off in a few weeks... Yokel http://www.suffolknews.co.uk/bury-st-edmunds/news/boxing-was-his-life-tributes-to-well-known-former-champio-9388992/2 points

Let’s not forget, all coursing events, wether it was The Waterloo Cup for greyhounds or the Forley Cup for Lurchers, were run on farmland and supported by farmers and landowners. Most fox hunts were on farmland aswell. The Countryside March against the Hunting Act was well supported by land owners, farmers and farm workers, probably more of them than hare coursers, although I may be wrong. Land owners and farmers are against poachers and trespassers but most certainly aren’t against field sports. Just my take on it. Cheers.2 points

No it's for the 1968 vespa smallframe. Its running a tuned ali barrel that's nicoseal lined so the pipe needs to be mild steele rather than stainless for heat dissipation.Hopefully that's the last spending for a while now as I'm already about 3k past what I'd ever realistically get back for it if I decided to sell it2 points

So what do you think of the budget yesterday mate only thing I came to the conclusion it's going to be devastating to small businesses and we are all going to be paying more tax. I have seen ex miners like myself praising the Labour government as they are going to give us a bigger share of our pension pot. It was our fekin money to start with and it's like the school yard bully taking sweets off you to then give you them back due to pressure and protest and then go on to thank him. Lol2 points
