I love this time of year trees turning colour the berries and nuts the mushrooms the start of the Rabbiting even some good sea fishing if I can fit it in. The detecting is better as well damp soil and not sweating my cobs off. Also the atmospheric mornings with the mist lying in the valleys and if your stood on a hill it looks like a White Sea with islands. Great time of the year. Cheers Arry8 points

Some people have been wise to it.....for a long, long time...I think In the last 5 years the masses are starting to open their eyes and realise...the government are not your friends...we are just cattle to them,a host that the parasitic cnuts ,milk and feed off..no more,no less...once you can except that....you can get on with living some sort of life...you don't have to play the game...there are always options7 points

That’s on top of the “normal” overseas aid; it’s for eco projects in Africa. Why not use it for eco projects here , like loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, updated boilers and radiation’s etc for the people who will lose the winter heating allowance ? It stinks …. Cheers.7 points

I was sitting in my office on Jeddah Airport and my son rang me from his office in the British Consulate in Saudi and said “ dad have you got the tv on ?” I said “no, what’s happening?” He said “ they are bombing America, we are on total lock down, but ok, take care”. I turned on the tv and my office rapidly filled up with all nationalities; British, American , Saudi, Egyptian, Pakistani, Philipino, Thai, all sorts. All just staring at the screen and strangely quiet. Im old enough to remember when Churchill died, when JFK was assassinated and 9-11. Momentous occasions.5 points

They walk among us lads……our job is to not forget who they are. Anyone who votes for them, anyone who represents them, anyone who supports them……these people are everyone’s enemy !5 points

Let's be honest though if labour had proposed this cut to winter fuel payments in their manifesto before the election they would have still been in opposition. What this cut to WFP has reaffirmed to me that most of us already knew is politicians are not to be trusted.4 points

10% hike on electric and gas from the start of October and no winter fuel payment for the elderly. UK to give £600 million to a dictator and fund a non existent war in the Ukraine. No problem. The UK has given a staggering total of £8.4 Billion to the Ukraine from the start of the war. Stop funding these terrorists and cancel your TV license, electric and Gas, council tax and water payments. No point in sitting on here and crying and doing nothing about it3 points

Idiots have just said I’m getting a bill, I wouldn’t of thought so, it was under 50mm of concrete, domestic should be a minimum of 375mm and the main coming in should be 7500mm, always good to know your spec when dealing with these loons3 points

I emailed my Labour MP asking a very simple question; “ how do you intend to vote in the upcoming debate on the removal of the pensioners winter fuel allowance ? “. She didn’t afford me the courtesy of a personal reply. One of her “team” replied saying before the MP can put my request to the relevant Minister she would need my full name and address, date of birth and my National Insurance number ! I replied saying I wasn’t putting a question or request to a Minister . As one of her constituents I was asking how MY MP intended to vote and that I found the request for my personal de3 points

I love the chill autumn winds, something exciting about them. This time of year we used to get the arrival of monster salmon 'greybacks'. Every time you put your line in the water you'd be full of adrenalin and anticipation. I've never caught one,but mates have caught them over 40 pounds. Then there's the pink foot geese heralding the arrival of autumn, with ferreting, long netting and lamping on the agenda. Wish we still had proper seasons instead of just endless rain.3 points

Reading your posts on here mate are great. I reckon if you ever wrote a book no doubt me and a few others would be breaking our necks to buy it. All the best and good luck with the fishing.3 points

Politicians love moral grandstanding on the world political stage whilst simultaneously kicking f**k out of their own people.3 points

I email my nearest Labour MP (Exeter) asking him if he was cosy as he can claim his fuel bill. If he can sleep at night. If he minded 4000 pensioners dying (Labours own figures) I got the same answer asking for my name address and post code. Cheers Arry2 points

Watching the various news channels, it’s only the far left Marxist fanatics that are supporting this . Normal working class Labour voters are waking up and asking “ what have we done ?” Well, they say repent at leisure, well, you’ve got five years to ponder your mistake ….. Cheers.2 points

There's no party to vote for. And if there were it would be crushed by 'dark forces". We end up voting for what we think is the lesser evil. And then we realise we've been fooled. It will be interesting to see if any progress has been made in improving public services at the end of this Parliament. Blair and Brown did restore health and education spending to the level of other European nations. As a result outcomes for patients were as good as France and Germany. The same was true of Education spending.( Doubters check the figures) Let's see if Starmer and Reeves can match that.2 points

The first pic is me in fort William, getting ready to start the three peaks . I'd just eaten two full English breakfasts in that pic . I started ramping up the food a few weeks in advance. You'll need plenty of energy stored in your body. The second pic is me somewhere near the top of Ben nevis. At the time I was still smoking 60 fag's a day. I could never smoke going uphill , but I'd light a fag at the top , and smoke all the way back down. Most folks that do that kind of things are fitness freaks , and would look at my fag in horror . To this day , I can't look at a mars2 points
