If dominant is D and recessive is R there is 3 ways they can divide and come together DD DR RR. Good traits are usually dominant. You cant add by inbreeding you can only take away, so you take away the dross. The recessive. When recessives come together you see the flaw, ie flat feet, cowardice, cow hocks etc. So you cull or remove from programme. The ideal is all traits represented by DD double dominant.5 points

I’m disgusted at the ridiculously small fine and court costs she got. Unbelievably low. She should also be banned from keeping animals for a min of 5years! Hunting a hare etc will see you smacked about a lot more in court than this cnut got3 points

Went for a walk this evening as most of the crops have now been cut and also all the vegetation along the hedgerows has had a good cut which helps shooting and seeing the rabbits clearly, was out for an hour and half before dusk and shot six only five in the picture as number six dived into the veg and could I find it no, it even done a somersault as I nutted it but nowhere to be seen, I also missed three so six for nine shots, I also see two foxes sneaking about.2 points

Don't go dragging me into it. I just think Almiron has has his day and Murphy is not consistent enough. That Jenrick doesn't even look like a footballer IMO.2 points

Yeah thats our plan aswell pal, although we are guna look at wet canning to make it shelf stable. I'm thinking of building a store. Just a breeze block shed well insulated no windows or anything. Just shelved out. That would be fine for storing surplus veg over winter and anything we have canned. Freezers for meat and blanched veg too.2 points

Yes this was pointed out , this was the Dutch version where they precook chicken and shellfish prior to adding , I guess to reduce the risk of undercooking. It was delicious all the same.2 points

The better condition a dog is in the longer it will take to find the quit in it. We're talking about 2 completely different things......no dog can be held at peak condition for months on end......conditioning a dog is one thing, peaking a dog is something else again. Cricket and Tennis both use a bat and a ball but they are not the same sports2 points

If you want to learn you need to understand how genes divide when the egg is fertilised by the sperm and how they are divided into dominant and recessive, and how traits are represented by dominant and recessive genes.2 points

I mean why didnt you go in more? How can we be sure that the good traits we are wanting to fix are fixed so quickly? Can you rid the strain of all recessives in just 2 matings? When you outcross you are introducing thousands of new genes and the the risk of undoing the good work you have done. The idea is to purify/fix as you say, its a fascinating thing but it takes time in dogs that are bred for work traits, but you have to have an eye on the physical aswell.2 points

The whole point of inbreeding is to lock in traits, and the only point in outcrossing is to add in traits that you desire. It would make no sense inbreeding and then immediately outcrossing, if that's needed then you shouldn't have been doing the inbreeding to start with. What is key is to cull hard when inbreeding, if done properly then you should be ok.2 points

Stupid cnut shouldn’t be anywhere near working/hunting type dogs and should be getting sacked! Worse still is the joke fine she received. What a fuucking Shit show! This is the type of thing that should be picked up by Jezza for his show imo. Personally, if I was the farmer, I would’ve both barreled the dogs. Veterinary nurse whose dogs killed 15 sheep and wounded 13 more is fined after traumatic attack that left farmer suffering 'horrible flashbacks' | Daily Mail Online WWW.DAILYMAIL.CO.UK Evie Watson, 27, was walking her two dogs - a lurcher type1 point

Agree with that first sentence. Why would anyone breed two siblings from the same litter? Genuine question. I wouldn't take a free pup from a brother sister mating, no benefits at all. Same exact genetics, no improvement to be gained.1 point

A local farmer mate of mine has lost a lot of sheep over the years, we are in beautiful hill country on the edge of towns so it's par for the course. He has the claims down to an art form....he claims for the sheep (which are obviously pedigree texels), he claims for the time per hour of himself and 3 staff, he even claims for the cost of his bullets if he shoots the dogs. He certainly doesn't go through his insurance if he finds the owner1 point

It's line breeding if it works and inbreeding if it don't. Some very good livestock of all species has been produced from line breeding1 point

Half brother and sister is one thing. That's part of a breeding process for line breeding and keeping things tight. But dogs from the same litter is surely amateur stuff imo. Madness.1 point
