  1. When I was a younger man , I had two 9 feet by 15 ft runs in the garden with kennels , running water , side by side with all my dog related stuff behind 2 inch mesh . inside them I had my dogs , two in particular , were and capable of “ turning the switch “ . I was always very particular about my dogs , I never bought shite or took a gamble , instead , I bought and trained with quality animals who at the drop of a hat day or night would turn living wildlife into meat . I kept running dogs , terriers and other working breeds . In 30 years I had two kennel fights ( a terrier annoyin

  4. Had a very rare few days off work. So decided last.com road trip to Norfolk. I did my dogging car into a camper by ripping back seat out. So took the dog and a catty and thermal for sum mooching ratcheting about at first light. Seen loads of munties and a few roe a fallow buck and some red hinds. Did a fair bit of mooching on the heaths and warrens . Did a bit of reading a few cans and watched a few films. Nice bit of down time.

  5. Well here it is i got myself a dressed crab when I was in Whitby today, so went for a sourdough crab sandwich with romaine lettuce, tomatoes and a homemade lemon mayonnaise, in the fridge for 3 hours, then demolished in 5 minutes with a glass of cider, heaven p.s. that sandwich cost about 7 quid, ( but it was worth it)

  9. My nine year old grandson has just been accepted for a football academy in Saudi Arabia. His first competitive game his team won and he scored the winning goal and was “man of the match”; He insists he will play for Real Madrid one day but I said he should be aiming higher than that and I’d arrange a trial with Newcastle for him ! LOL ! Cheers.

  10. Great weekend again lads, thanks to everyone for making it what it is. Raised close to £1400, so another good effort from a bunch of hairy assed hunters sat round a camp fire... Thanks to Mary, Niramah and Graeme for laying it all on again and making everyone so welcome.. Thanks to everyone who attended across the weekend bringing prizes, money for the kitty etc, it's appreciated even if you can't stay all weekend.. The 12 months recovery before we do it again has began...cheers lads!

  14. I was lucky to see one or i presumed it was a pure wildcat wile on an hawking holiday some years ago near Aviemore in a heather covered gully wile after rabbit's to flush for the hawks and a cat some distance away bounded out of the heather the thickness of it's tail was the first thing i noticed it was like a foxes brush and it's movement reminded me of the snow leopards i have seen in documentaries also it was very remote where we were with no human habitat near by so i ruled out the possibility of it being a domestic cat.

  19. Completely understood squire and I used to be a massive advocate and believer in the “trickle down” effect…..I’m still an advocate for it in a properly functioning, fair system. However, I don’t believe that is what we have and we haven’t had it for a good while now……what we have is akin to some kind of council estate money lender type thing going on where the borrower is forced to borrow by the system while the same system then never lets him out of the trap…..doomed to be continually poor relatively speaking and kept in servitude to “them” I remember as a young man, there was a cle

  24. You could Tax a small fraction of what we are currently paying as a nation and you could keep the clogs turning with ease so are you saying the governments don't waste a vast majority of tax money ? yet your wanting to pay more so they can waste more ??? Interesting.

  33. Do you not think that the index relates less and less to the man in the ground though mate ?……I mean, at 8.4 that’s as high as it’s been by and large but the bloke in the street is struggling like f**k still and there’s not much end in sight for that. Someone’s getting richer but it isn’t the bloke in the street anymore imho

  36. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if there are lynx which have been released. Lots of dense forests with plenty of roe to harbour lynx. Good point about never having seen a Scottish wildcat. I've lived in Scotland over 50 years and I've spent a lot of time in the highlands. But I've never seem a Scottish wild cat, nor an adder, nor a capercaillie. I saw my first pine marten a few years back.

  40. Let the man pursue his f****n hobby. Its no skin off anybody's nose what he does in his own time. I've spent a lot of my life standing up to my armpits in cold water throwing some painted feathers with a rod. I've spent hours watching ferrets dodging about in rabbit holes. Hours aiming a lamp at a worthless long eared mammal. No point in it really. Just men being geeks. Live and let live.

  41. At a Farm celebration today and the farm collie was getting a bit stressed with loads of kid want to throw stick for him etc. The dog know me well and will tag along when I'm out ferreting and will mark in so I went for a walk with to see what the rabbit situation was. The dog loved it being away from the crowds started working the hedges straight away. Lovely place. view towards the moor. Cheers Arry
