Fried a sirloin steak in butter, then sliced it and dropped takaway mushrooms, egg fried rice and curry sauce on it. Really enjoyed that for a change.12 points

Little Mary, mid 60’s; One of the all time greats; only 23lb but would win 32lb scratch races against dogs and bitches. Sired by the pedigree whippet Bilko, but dam was bred greyhound sire; pedigree whippet dam . A very unusual way to go. A perfect example of what non/ped whippet breeders strived for; the size of the whippet and damn near the speed of the greyhound. Cheers.5 points

Went for a walk and a breakfast around Brixham Harbour today seen this big French trawler for sale for £1. Brixham: Sunken French trawler could be sold for £1 WWW.BBC.CO.UK The Brixham harbourmaster wants to "get rid" of a French trawler that sank in Dartmouth in 2016. Cheers Arry4 points

Part of what I'm trying to do includes going back to what I call 'old school trade' so instead of swapping money I'm swapping time/skills/produce. So far I've agreed to do a little bit of electrical work, probably equate to half a day's work. The trade for this was access to a small but well established orchard. Only about 10-12 trees but a mix of apples, pears and plums. All big trees and tons of fruit. Wi dfall will go to pigs and picked fruit will be for eating/jams/chutneys etc. Had a few visits already and had loads for pigs. They also gave me a box of about 30jars for the jam/chutne4 points

I don’t keep either but if I had to choose I’d rather have a ped whippet over a pure saluki without a doubt4 points

Just going off what I’ve seen mate, a whippet will miss plenty of stuff but it’ll give 100% and they’re exciting to watch, when they do catch something bigger than a rabbit it’s an achievement because they’re punching above their weight. Pure Salukis are the most boring dog to watch just slowly running things to death, no urgency or drive I think I’d rather stay at home than go out with a saluki. Like I've said I don’t keep either so no sides to take, just saying what I’ve seen3 points

Smashed it this week, will do 2000m2 in 3 days on roof, loads of steel work in it making good, new rails etc, stripping asbestos... boys have grafted like f**k to be fair max 15min break a day when the cranes on site... I'm f****d!! Lol3 points

It happens occasionally and there’s not a lot you can do about if the leader goes in the mouth but at least it was just a single which it will probably get rid of . I always crush the barbs on jigs just in case and anything with a treble I use single strand titanium . If you are wanting to catch pike don’t bother with the up and down retrieve and just straight retrieve it slow enough to keep it coming without hitting any weed or snags . When it’s cold they won’t be up for chasing any distance but you’ll not be too far away to get one that’s half interested on shallow canals . Perch will be wh3 points

There’s a place near me that dry dock them to scrap them, a lad I know used to work for them, there must of been good money in them because they would go to auctions around the country to buy them just to scrap, they must of had all the hazardous handling tickets ( my mate was an asbestos stripper to start with) or maybe not, because they were in Hartlepool and that place is one big landfill2 points

Surely the scrap value is far more than the cost of removing it from the harbour?2 points

I knew I remembered it,just found the report, right wing knuckle dragging racist thugs should have stuck in at school as they can’t even spell lefties were saying. The guy arrested was Kurdish, couldn’t speak English and was copying the graffiti from written notes given to him by other Kurd barbers, once his identity was revealed it was no longer treated as a hate crime.2 points

That's Northern Ireland not Ireland and in a loyalist area.. go to any staunch loyalist or nationalist area and it'll be the same, they want to be around there own , get into any of the cities or mixed towns and there starting to get into them ..2 points

The Macclesfield canal that I fish aswell is like that because of the boat traffic , virtually no visibility as opposed to the tap water clear L&L near me . Once the seemingly endless lines of boats start coming through about 10-11 I just give up and go . I do catch a lot more bigger perch on that canal but once it’s colder there’s large parts of it that are prolific in summer that appear barren in winter but once you find them you’ll get multiple 2lb plus perch . I still start on the 40mm nimbles with a 3gm jighead but if there’s nothing doing I’ll go up to a 65mm and 1.5-2gm jighead so t2 points

Not a walk as such (though I did one today, passed Cabelas and popped in for the Black Friday price brochure, they have a Father Christmas in every night for kids with two full size taxidermy caribou next to his cabin, came out and it had started snowing (expecting 10 CM overnight) which was a nice touch.2 points

Not a dig at you mate, just a general opinion, but these are the opportunities that your everyday white British bloke just can’t pass up….you don’t have to holler and hoot like a loon, but you can can wipe the shit eating grin off these peoples faces with a “Can you explain why they need to be taught that in a Christian country please ?” It’s one of the few times every so often that your man in the street comes face to face with the things we all moan about all the time……I could never let those pass, caused my wife no end of red faces. As I said mate, the government here seem as intent on committing suicide as we did in the U.K. …….luckily there are still locals who don’t mind blocking the road into town and resorting to a box of matches if they have too. Its happening but people are fighting, don’t let the propaganda tell you they ain’t pal2 points
