  6. Not to get into you lads debate as like most others i dont really have strong opinions either way its just basic passing interest in the countryside that keeps me returning to the topic.....but it does come across as strange how much passion and strength of feeling someone can have for something they dont believe exists.....Foxdropper i dont know why you dont take Greyman up on his offer and visit the place in Cirencester he was on about where you can chat about it with other likeminded folk.....because it seems to me that unless its just a basic personal disdain for Greyman himself then you a

  10. I think Greyman did say there is pics he can't put on here, but could show in person (apologies if I'm wrong Paul), I also know he's invited you to the uni to see the evidence they have... regards the walk on his land, DC went and done the very same and said it was well.worth the effort... I struggle with time constantly mate, don't do half of what I'd like to.. but after meeting Paul I'd happily spend a day with him, a decent walk, take the dogs, a meal in his local and yapping about hunting, fishing, our countryside and big cats.. wouldn't be time wasted for me.. Like I said you

  14. Sorting through my mums house we came across pictures of my first lurcher, 1979 so I gave the pup an of the era name "toyah" ?. We had terriers and ferrets but this bitch was a game changer for mooching. Lurcher to lurcher cross, she was a dream to work although in part I put that down to the time one can devote at 17 when the world is yet to discover current electronic distraction. She was insanely committed to catching game, near miss accidents were frequent and sadly a tree collision was her undoing. Despite the look of her white beard she didn't make 3 years. Ever since i am not a fan of d

  16. I've caught hares with a 10 ft stop net and a jack russell more than once in the past,a dog that can't catch a hare will run it out the filed in the same place many times and on mooches in the past this has happened and iv'e gone back and netted it after the russell has chased it as a hare is a creature that uses the same runs over and over again..

  17. on its run mate...even on the fens there is still places you could put a snare...or of course many snares...on a lot of that land with dykes etc....there will be little crossings over the dykes just wide enough for a tractor....you will find runs on most of them....also going through set aside....and cover crop left for game birds... there are chaps out there that are extremely proficient with the old wires....i dont fall in to that category but i can get by with them...

  23. If you have the audacity and just down right rudeness in calling someone out on a subject (700 + negative comments)...then at least have a set of balls and meet the man, instead of making excuses like " no one said I'd be shown anything...just a walk...got better things to do"? What a f***ing Mincher? More Big White Bummer, than big white hunter ??️...

  24. That's right mate, was an interesting few hours listening and looking at the things Greyman has collated.. Again im not saying it will categorically prove there is a breeding population, but there is some interesting stuff to see if you meet and talk to the man... plus he's pretty much said anyone is welcome off here, hardly the act of man with nothing to show is it!

  25. You could go and meet the man yourself pal, just like I did?...he sat and showed every single one of us lads at the fishing comp, what he had on this subject...and not one of those lads would call him cuckoo or a bare face liar ?...what does that tell you? I don't believe there's 100's/1000's roaming around, more like 30/50 that travel fair distances to breed, hence the regular seasonal sightings, that small number would suggest that there's lots of inbreeding/mixing with ferals bringing the size down and colour variations that are reported ...that's just my take on it from having spoken to good

  33. Decided to get off my ass and try getting my little 6.5 grendel pistol loaded up . Haven't touched it in like 3 years . Seems I've gotten better on the loading bench. Now if I can just stop jerking the last shot when I see a good group forming ?? Regardless it's good enough for the woods and now I have some loaded I can stop making excuses when I buddy asks if I wanna go hunting with him ?

  38. your talking about Simon Whitehead. ..yes he did get the jcb in to get a ferret out... a few years ago me vin and trigger from this site dug one out around 9 feet...under some big old rocks that took 4 of us to lift out....in the end there was a drop down in to a cavern. ..shone a torch down and 3 foot down at the bottom was the ferret unable to climb out...we lowered a a dead rabbit down in a purse net...and he jumped on it...and nd we fished him out....took several hours did that...
