I am afraid when they start going out to pubs and clubs it's out of your hands....growing up in a small village in the 70 s....we were taught drugs were bad even back then...but when I went to my first rave back in the early 90,s...and I had my first E ..bloody hell what a great experience...I was 22 or 23....and had no interest until then ...I then tried a few other recreational type drugs over the next 10 years or so...coke ..ghb...ket....maybe I'm lucky in that I didn't have a an addictive personality and after the night out not bother with it till we went out again ...8 points

Good anti immigration protest in Dublin today and unlike the uk the protesters are not being treated like far right nutjobs for standing up for their country, long may it continue6 points

Seriously though , I don’t think you can explain fully the influx cocaine has had on the world of young people mate . its absolutely part of going out . I grew up in a market town in Cumbria on the Scottish border , I was there with the wife at Christmas and In the tiny little bar open at 2 in the morning , we were the only ones not on the sniff . At a weekend , from the trade lads in work clothes at the pub, just finished a shift on a Friday , to the middle aged day drinkers into spoons at 10 in the morning and the young geezers in montclere hoodies and nike trainers to the housew6 points

Ahh.. bless him mate! Yes, let him enjoy himself and see where it takes him!! When I was really young and nieve.. I just assumed I'd always have a son, and my thoughts where around lurchers and football, in that order. But I've ended up with two daughters!! .. and it's all hair straighteners and makeup!! Lol..6 points

What a silly cnut. For what he was carrying it would’ve been easier to score some over there from some yellow plate faced local I’ve been away with lads who stuff it in a Johnny bag then up their ass, inside headphones etc Not my thing but sadly i’m a minority amongst my mates.4 points

A big % of hunting dogs over here have Deerhound DNA from the staghound which is in a lot of rabbit dogs, pig dogs and others. The Deerhound was an important breed over here when you look back and the Deerhound/greyhound kept food on the table in the early settlement days.4 points

Mate , you’re so off the verge it’s unreal . the men who twenty years ago were smashing smack heads up as entertainment , throwing coats over the heads of dealers in pubs and throwing them into cars are the ones Lacing them selves up with bugle today . it’s an epidemic3 points

I stay in the marina as I still work and need a base at the moment, I get what you are saying but at the moment it works we have good neighbours that look out for each other and no bad apples, I,m retiring this year and will be getting a motor home as well so will be away for much of the year in future and it’s quite nice knowing all your stuff is safe and being looked after plus it’s easy enough on the weekend to untie the house and go down stream for a few days of solitude, first barby of the year last night I3 points

i can see the appeal of living the way you have chosen to live, it looks a nice way of living, we lived in a american motorhome for six or so years and loved every minute of it, but how do you cope living so close to each other...for me, that would be the biggest draw back, i couldn't live amongst that crowd... what with you being a real country person and older in life, do you actually enjoy living in a floating city or is it a trade off you have to do for the services for your boat....i have never like having neighbours and the older i get the more i don't want anyone near me....2 points
