Stay clear of ex emergency services motors, they have spent their lives idling outside Greg's.7 points

2024,I wonder what it has in store for each & everyone of us? Hopefully more good than bad although to be honest on a personal level I've had a horrendous start to the new year,on new year's day morning whilst out with the dog's my legs gave way & I ended up falling & a week & a half later I'm still black & blue, still the following day I was out with the terriers & put the first one in a place what has seen a 5ft shovel job & two which have been less than 2ft! Within 30 seconds of the dog going in the Bellman & Flint was showing 17ft 8! The dog held steady at th7 points

I dont think any type of working dog is as hardy/tough as a dog bred for earth work...theres not an animal alive, wild or domesticated that will travel down into another animals lair and do what a Terrier does.....6 points

Early start for us today,we were out the door for 4am & done the drive & slog up the mountain for daybreak,it was a cold day on the high tops with a cold brisk wind with the mountain weather forecast stating that taking the wind chill into account temperatures were to be around -12C,we had light rain at times & at other times we had sleet. Unfortunately we didn't put anything to rest today, being honest we probably could have but I seen more than a handful of other's out enjoying the mountains today,I did see 3 big fine along with a handful of the opposite sex with them but they5 points

Sad tale FUJI and that is why I never took to the Terrier job,...it really can be 'life and death'.... I've hunted with some well known names, and seen some cracking dirt dawgs,...but I've never been tempted to take a pup. ALL Hunting can be dangerous,..and heartbreaking, but it's something that every genuine hunting man has to come to terms with,..OR,..get out of the fecking game.... I've had a lifetime of stress, excitement, sadness and joy.... Back in the day,...my mind set was different,.. and my passion for the chase override the sorrow. Now,..I see things slight4 points

Top pic is an old Tin mine,local.. bottom one was a rescue up in Staffordshire way..9 m down ,2/3 ft away from a railway track on a big bank...at the bottom we went 12/14 ft in along the tube to reach a second dog..2 of us laying on our stomachs, holding ankles...and 3 lads ready to go like f**k it it went pair shaped, everytime a train was coming ,we had to get out the hole sharpish3 points

Insulated and vented right and you'll not have any damp, no airflow is the biggest issue with containers.3 points

I hear you loud & clear matey,I know you've been on here a long while & have kept working dog's even longer & like you say if you do a bit quite regularly over a period of time it's unfortunate but it's quite likely at some point something untoward is going to happen to one of the team. It certainly does knock the wind out of one's sail so to speak but as you rightly say you've got two options they being quit or get straight back on your horse & you go again. In our case my lads already been back out with the little dog's & had a great day & I've been back out with the3 points

So I asked 1 of the workers there a tall thin lad could he grab them for me..when he passed them to me then it really hit me that I felt like a kid lol..that exchange of bread rolls effected me for a good few months I felt like a lesser man lol3 points

It’s madness mate everyone’s got a story to tell even just the small amount of lads on here like kings mrs ect ect.. you want to read the comment sections of the YouTube videos every one is mums died dads died young people getting severely ill all of a sudden after taking the vaccine.. its only a matter of time and there like walking time bombs… hard discussion to have with friends and extended family who have had it.. im a worrier at the best of time and i would be absolutely shitting myself now if I was foolish enough to take that jab2 points

Buyers fees, indemnity fee, vat all on top of hammer price normally . I not bought at a auction for years but they always say the fleet motors always get serviced right but on the other hand they are normally thrashed to death as the drivers don’t own them.2 points

Yeah it's shit when you notice things like that in the younger generation . I had a 18 year lad working for me for a year and he was a good kid but he made me feel old . We were taking down some old stud walls in a old house and anybody that has done it before knows that their will be newspapers rammed in loads of places to fill gaps . We found 2 whole copies of newspapers from the 70s . My first port of call is to check the back pages and see what was happening in the football back them . The lad just looked at it and said " so did you used to just sit around and read these ? " . He'd never r2 points
