How many are still working pure bred borders? My father always wanted one but only ever had patterdale x border. I was lucky enough to get a pup from some real hard working dogs looking forward to the future with this one9 points

The quicker all women in all sports make a stance against this stupidity the better it will be for them, they should all refuse to enter any competition where trans v women is sanctioned.8 points

I wonder how many kid's these days go pond dipping for newts and tadpoles and other creatures. A gang of us all about ten years old would be accompanied by my father who knew places he went to as a kid all on industrial land were water had run off railway bankings and gathered in a ditch that were full of different species from sticklebacks to newts toads and i once caught at the time what looked big a diving beetle. I also took tadpoles to junior school that were kept in a tank with the teachers approval to watch how they developed into toads.6 points

Good dig to the old bitch today. Big rangey spot keen coming up to it dropped her and a while later she was on 14 meters away at 0.7 . Good result6 points

There’s also the very recent case of the woman pool player refusing to play a trans bloke/woman in the final. The trans reasoning is that pool isn’t a strength sport it’s a skill sport . If he’s correct , how come not one woman snooker player or woman darts player has ever made the worlds top 64 ? He is missing the point completely….it was a Womens final not a bloke dressed as a women versus a real womens final ! Cheers,5 points

Please tell me you don’t believe that any “tax” raised would be put back into the education budget ?……..come on mate, you are smarter than that. I loath the Tory’s but let’s not forget, the country hasn’t only existed for 13 years !……this is endemic under both main party’s. There are at least 20 million (at least !!!) too many people in the country, these institutions can’t cope with that ! They piss it away on nonsense and wars that ain’t ours and housing the world and printing signs that say a man is a woman and black history month and a million other bits of shit…..5 points

Yep.My sister in Law works as a deputy head for ofstead(think Ive got that right)going into schools that are falling behind and whipping them into shape and my missus's sister is a primary school teacher. Both have told me that its not unusual for kids to start at primary that aren't toilet trained or dont know how to use a knife and fork let alone hold a pencil properly or know basic count to ten or colours/shapes.Probably the same kids whos parents wanna blame it all on the schools when their kids are thick as shit.4 points

Hunted with some nice Border Terriers, back in the 1990's. Sometimes found them to be a tad on the sensitive side (same as myself,..they did not enjoy the company of noisy feckers).....but once they were on,..they were on...4 points

Me and my Mrs have done all that stuff and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've taught lots of kids to fish and taken themto trout farms and let them play and land salmon. I've also go in every year to give the case for field sports. Kids are usually very open minded about the issue. A good comp is a proper community school which involves everybody .old and young, middle and working class.4 points

Not sure how this happened but our 1st x collie lurcher who has always refused to chase plastic lures has got bored of watching our whippet racing and at 5 years has suddenly become mad for having a go himself,,,,. He still likes a spot of ferreting mind ,,4 points

I think it’s an important shift that a libertarian is taking charge of a big, major country mate. People often say “it’s not worth voting” but this shows people, along with Meloni in Italy & the AfD and in Austria, that if they get off their arse they really can make a difference and fight back against this Marxist ideology that seems to have overcome the world. The west will want him to fail, big time, and they will no doubt throw everything they can in his path but let’s hope he makes a good go of it.3 points

Teachers very recently have complained they have to change nappies and potty train PRIMARY school children , because some parents can’t be bothered ! My missus said back when our kids were young they weren’t even allowed into nursery class unless the were out of nappies and potty trained. Of course these parents are a minority, but an ever growing minority . Cheers.3 points

You ask “ what will they do with the tax’s”, well, Sunak was on TV this morning bragging that we are giving an EXTRA £30 million to one overseas government and £100 million to another. Cameron , the new Foreign Secretary and his deputy , Andrew Mitchell, the overseas aid minister, are already lobbying Sunak to raise the £10 billion we already give, from 0.5 % of GDP to 0.7%, while the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt is saying he’s going to cut benefits! what planet are these people on ? Who is advising them that this will get them votes ? Cheers.3 points

It’s a good way of quick session fishing , no loading/unloading and lugging loads of gear about and messing about setting up or having to sort bait out beforehand , just leave a small rod and reel set up plus a few lures , jig heads and some leader or traces in a bag and your fishing .3 points

I paid £50 for 6 that were about 5days old. That is the bronze/blacks. I paid 30 for 6 hatching eggs off ebay and that is the 2 red bourbons, 4 didn't hatch. Bag of growers about 12.50 and if it was just turkeys at this size would do 2 week. I reckon you would do 150 in feed max. So couple hundred quid max and you would have half a dozen big turkeys. Free range/grass fed turkeys are owt up to 175 a bird! I've sold 4 probs ask 30quid a pop just to contribute to the feed cost.3 points

And they look after people as well, few years back a lad at football suffered a very, very nasty leg break. He worked for Lidl, just a worker, not a manager or anything…..they paid him all through his long recovery, not a bother. Bloke had a young family and didn’t have to worry about a thing.3 points

Coloured rods are getting more popular in lure fishing especially glass ultralight/bfs rods . I’ve got 2 coloured modern s-glass setups that I use . The white one is 4.7ft and the olive one is a 5.6ft both rated upto 5gm . The company I got the white one off does them in orange , light blue and green aswell and the full custom olive resilure rod can I think be done in any colour . Recently ive seen a completely clear one on aliexpress . I think rawr fishing was using one in a recent video aswell2 points

Soft plastics are all I use for perch and pike on the canals with the bfs gear and in particular the 40mm crazyfish nimbles/supercontinent copies . I used to use it on the rivers for trout aswell but prefer the jdm hardbaits now2 points

I was about 13/14 and sat in a maths lesson staring out the window as always. There was a piece of waste ground next to the school covered in brambles and a few trees, a couple of lads appeared with a ferret box and started to lay a few nets, out came the ferret and in no time a rabbit bolted out of the brambles closely followed by a whippet lurcher that i hadn't noticed previously and it took the rabbit in what seemed like a nano second! I was absolutely hooked from that moment on and have kept lurchers for over 35 years. Phil2 points
