My obsession with dogs and poaching in hindsight was my downfall as a career and job's mostly played second fiddle. The job I wanted on leaving school was working for British Steel as it was good money at the time far better than mining and all the lad's I know including my brother in law around my age are all comfortably retired with a good pension those who did 35 years. I don't blame anyone only myself had an opportunity once installing furnaces and other similar construction on oil refineries that could have took me to different parts of the globe but the odd time I have worked away from h13 points

If I never ended up in Borstal at 15...then I would of joined the military like my Dad I dont have many regrets in life tbf ...the choices I made were all my own...you make your bed you lie in it... I've always been interested in doing some teaching/social worker type things... but there's no money in it... few more yrs left on the mortgage and when its all done,I may look in to it...ive got a few trades under my belt, that pay the bills..so something to fall back on...Ive had it in my head, that Im finished grafting and punching my guts out at 50,and I'm on course so far....will be happy to s13 points

I wouldn’t have minded a bit of being a porn star for a few years but other than that I have had loads of careers if I,m not happy I feck off and reinvent myself elsewhere always had the plastering to fall back on for some quick bucks if needed it’s all coming to an end now anyway but no regrets have had a strange and wonderful life crawled out the gutter and done ok for me and mine so can die happy10 points

If I won big on the lottery I would put my four great nephews through private school. My grandson is already being privately educated , it’s expensive, but his Saudi family pay the best part of that, all I do is basically buy his sports kit and put a bit into a small trust fund each month. Yes, I know people will say they went to the local comprehensive and they did ok, well, so did I, but I’d say the vast majority of my education and qualifications came after I left school. Comprehensive gave me the basics, but now with the left wing education system putting more emphasis on “inclus7 points

Went to grammar school and did fairly well; went on to do an apprenticeship in electrical engineering with a mechanical section bit got kicked off 6 weeks before completion. Did some casual factory work before doing door to door sales for a bit and then ended up in a call centre for 7 years. f****d that off for bait collection; been doing it full time 18 months now and love it. Best part is I've not had to miss a single sports day, school play, parents evening etc.6 points

I auditioned for porn star but got rejected. I asked for some feedback and got pages and pages. Penis comically small, premature ejaculation and too much slavering from my mouth. At least I tried.6 points

I wouldn’t want to change my career path; it went on an upward trajectory from leaving school and becoming a diesel mechanic to retiring 20 years ago as an Airline Engineering Manager. There were a lot of factors involved in this including luck, being in the right place at the right time, willing to work hard and take risks, willing to go out my comfort zone and learn new skills and not least having two bosses who saw something in me and pushed me hard and gave me opportunities to move up. Cheers.6 points

Turned out OK, like others on here a big interest in the outdoors, and wildlife etc but needed a degree (apparently!)...however I am really bad at exams, but pretty good at course work, so I did a HND in Environmental Science, which had a 50% course work/exam split, used to get 70% for course work 35% exams but it was a pass, got my degree through a course with 40% course work (the highest i could find then, nowadays more degree are 50 50 split) in Environmental Science. Could not get a start in the Environmental sector so ended up in Community Development, turns out i was quite good at it,5 points

Yeah, he won his BWRA Rch title on both straights and bends, and won his NWRF Rch on bends. A terrific achievement back then as there was far more dogs and far more races, including regionals, to win before getting to the final. I well remember the days of walking to the whippet racing, coursing a hare or two on the way, having a few races then a course or two on the way back. Something the non-ped racers wouldn’t dream of doing these days. Cheers.5 points

The two stud dogs that have probably had the most influence on non/ ped whippet breeding; Bilko; Blue Peter; Cheers.5 points

Another top non-ped stud dog from yesteryear; Rch. Haymaker; I had a pup sired by him, out of my brothers bitch Flossy, a 32lb Rch Yorky boy x greyhound bitch. Cheers.5 points

I think you probably prove the saying " The harder you work the "luckier" you get." I guess l was "lucky" through circumstances though. I stayed-on in 6th form not because l liked school or was particularly bright but because l had no idea about what sort of job l wanted. When the day came to leave I threw myself on the mercy of the Youth Job Centre who told me to go for interviews at a couple of local engineering companies. They sent all the boys to these two companies and the girls were all guided to shop work of nursing. I didn't fancy it so went to the proper Emplo4 points

Of course it’s unfair ! That’s the reason I want my family to be privately educated , it gives them a head start in an unfair competitive world ! My son wouldn’t have had the career he did without being privately educated at the American International School of the Middle East and being a boarder at Ashby Grammar. My daughter wouldn’t have had the career she had if she didnt also attend the A.I.S.M.E. and the Cambridge Annex of the Middle East . I was extremely lucky that the company I worked for payed the fees, or else they would have gone to a comprehensive, I’ll be eternally3 points

I wish I'd had a proper education and been able to actually choose a career. But your life is just like a raft on an ocean and you beach up wherever the raft dumps you. I would like to have to have served my time as a brickie and started my own business. I've worked with brickies who were able to say "I built that" or "I worked on that project". It must be quite satisfying to actually create something.3 points

I take a great interest in my eight year old grandsons education and future career. When I ask him what he’d like to do, he tells me he wants to play for Real Madrid, but if he doesn’t make the grade he’d like to be a banker ! Lofty aspirations but at least he has a back up plan ! LOL ! I’d prefer he followed his late dads career and become a diplomat. Happily he is very academic and enjoys exams and tests and gets annoyed if he isn’t top of the class in everything, but he also enjoys horse riding, karate, swimming and playing football, so he is having a well rounded childhoo3 points

I could never vote for Farage under the tory umbrella and Lynch is a Corbynista commie cum bucket, so no and no .3 points

I'm not getting an argument. It's pointless. But it does seem strange to me that neither side have a party which truly represents their tribe. Which leaves us all disenfranchised.3 points

Lynch comes across as a self serving bully and Farage as a self serving wannabe intellect. As a leader Farage gets my vote everyday of the week. I have a real issue with unions funding every left wing march and protest at the expense of their members most who probably dont agree with them but have had no say, which considering what unions stand for is ironic. In a fight Lynch all the way street fighter and brawler, Farage marquis of queensbury rules type .3 points
