My understanding is the bill that was being pushed through yesterday was part of the original Jay report and would have stalled if a full inquiry had to be undertaken, so Starmer used it basically as smoke screen. The more I delve into the scandal and the way its being handle the more angry I get. How the hell can it be accepted that Starmer can force his MP's to vote against anything that don't fit in with his agenda with the threat of removing them from their post. How would an independent inquiry derail the Schools Bill , they are completely separate. Or are you talking about the Jay inquiry which is long finished and her recommendations are finally if belatedly being implemented. The schools bill is to reorganise the education system, nothing to do with grooming gangs.
