Four hours in and coming on a treat have chucked in a tin of baked beans as it needed a little something more, colds a flus everywhere need some good tuck to stay strong

Been up the butchers got some Gloucester old spot,welsh dragon,pork and venison sausages and a couple of rashers of home cured smoked bacon chopped it up in the Dutch oven with potatoes ,carrots ,onions ,peppers ,garlic ,ginger some turmeric, smoked paprika ,roasted garlic and black pepper for an afternoon on the stove and a couple of cow ribs for the dogs

Well good start Monday was an American bank holiday so today was my first full day on site, anyways after my first shift I’ve been told the job is mine but doesn’t start until March which is only 5 weeks away but the lads on base want me to start sooner so are chatting with the boss either way it looks like a cracking job in really beautiful surroundings especially in summer and all being good should carry me on to my pension

Apparently Barton on sea is a good spot.down near the isle of wight and a lot closer than my usual Walton on the naze.so hotel booked only 10 minutes away.2 night stay just to see if it actually produced the goods.first day I found two not impressed.next day went back and found four more.still crap .well at least it was an hour closer to home.just a heads up if you ever feel like having a look.

Came across two silky bantams in the woods , very friendly and not overly wary of the dog (crazy chooks) …. Managed to corral them into a fenced area and went to the nearest smallholding to see if they had lost any .. they didn’t keep chickens,but two ladies came up with me to the woods and gathered them up , and took them back to look after them until the owner could be located ….. wish I’d put them in my jacket and kept them now , but I was a few miles from home .

Not sure if you've been to Albuquerque mate, but i think you'd like it . Quite laid back for a big city, but a real old world feeling, lots of Mexican and Native American archives, old Soamish feel etc... the Old Town is history rich, really worth a walk around, a few too many "tat" shops, but loads of original indian work, had a good yap with an Indian who made jewelery, was from the Hopi tribe, explained to me the old battle with Spanish settlers that the Indians won and took.the horses, 1700s, this was the start of the indian horses they breed..
