Reading all these posts is pretty uplifting really, when you see so many lads who didn’t do well in school as part of the “normal” education system and lads who maybe were going down the wrong path in trouble with the law and now their kids are doing ok or are on the path to doing ok. It shows that you don’t have to be defined by your circumstances, which is what I have always believed. Even lads who are having a blip with the kids are working hard to put it right and putting real thought into helping their kids with every bit of their ability…….they may not have the answers yet but8 points

I,m living my best life I live on my boat that I have dreamt of doing since my early twenty’s am in the process of selling off all my assets to live life exactly how we want to, my interest in cats has put me on tv,radio and magazine whilst you on the other hand worked in a pet shop during the 70s are still in your bedsit sewing up the holes in your socks to go out and paste up Jeremy corbyn posters before coming home to the exotic parrot you have and beating one off to a Diane abbot poster so don’t feel sad about my empty life it’s rather fantastic truth be told, now as I’ve said rather than8 points

Mate honestly you have to realise you are flogging a dead horse he is just one of many that are exposing the truth over ten thousand claims already for compensation and tens of thousands more that will never get the chance to claim it was never a vaccine it was a medical experiment and like all experiments it came with risks the truth is still being suppressed by those that gained the most but there is enough now out there that even the most die hard jabber has to accept it was wrong at the very least5 points

My sister's kid who,s nearly 14 started private secondary school. We don't come from money, my sister was just academic and her partner just done well for them selves and just grafted and grafted. Although my neace is only 14 I can see she will do leaps and bounds in private schooling and have opportunitys and mix in circles we never did. I left school early with no exams and fuk all and lived down south at 17 in an old caravan for a few year's. But I've always grafted and hustled opportunitys that came my way. I struggle with writing and mathatics and get by. But av always worked for myself i5 points

In fairness mate, I always think when I hear these things “Are they keeping the dog alive for them or for the dog ?” A broken back sounds pretty serious and I can only imagine the animal is in pain and/or discomfort and will be for the rest of its life in all likely hood so why are they fretting about keeping the dog cutting about half crippled ? My mother in law is one of them, all the dogs she has ever had end up mangled and on drugs to keep them going, it’s f***ing cruel to me. Just be kind, do it in and move on.5 points

I used to be offered a lot of unwanted dogs, almost all were dogs that had piss poor owners, who were happy to blame the breed or the dog. I made useful dogs out of some, others weren't cut out for a working life. I think I took them because I felt sorry for dogs, their owners had never given them the required time. For a number of years now I won't & don't take any period, any offers are met with a flat out NO! Anything less has them turning up a few days later, saying oh I was just passing and since I had fideo in the car I thought I'd just pop in and say hi. At the time, I wanted to br5 points

Some random stats and some random ideas. Single sex schools for girls produce the best academic results. Some comps produce excellent results. Some don't. The best comps tend to be in leafy suburbs and the poor ones in areas of poverty and deprivation. The germans have technical schools for those kids who want to pursue trades . But there's no terrible feeling of failure if you go to a technical school. Tradesmen and people who work with their hands are respected and valued far more in Germany. It's recognised that people who work with their hands ultimately produce the wealth. In Fi4 points

Just wait until he's eighteen and comes home in the early hours of the morning paralytic drunk and vomits on every step of a flight of stairs. Just when you've got it cleaned up, he staggers out of bed and vomits another bucketful before he reaches the bathroom. You are busy scrubbing that lot up, nearly wretching yourself, when he calls out from his bedroom " quit making that f***ing noise! I'm trying to sleep". When you say 'go to sleep' he then shouts out " I've told you once, quit that b*****d noise or else "I ll hammer you!" He couldn't remember a thing next morning.Lol3 points

I hated school and I hated PE and sports . I was so disruptive in PE that in the end the teacher used to bring his dog to school a black lab. And he wud let me walk his dog instead of PE. Was just easier than me being a little sh1t. At back of our school was farmland and an old quarry and pools . I was much happier on my own with his dog mooching and looking at wildlife than I ever was in any lesson.3 points

Trust me,my kids will not be a target for no cnut...both been expelled from multiple schools for fighting when someone thought they could boy them off....thats why we went down the home schooling route...both are now thriving and want to learn...f**k exams, more important to teach them life skills so they can get out and earn money in the real world imo ,nothing i learnt in school had any bearing on where I am now3 points

I think that is a decent rule of thumb, much like private healthcare…..they are doing a proper job minus the bollocks. However, I don’t think it’s a rule, plenty of good kids came out of state school. I also think we need to consider (and ask) what kids want their life to look like……a parents idea of success may not be a kids idea of success and I don’t seem much point in torturing them for 5 years in an institution where they are not happy…..it’s self defeating. My daughters boyfriend has a masters in physics and some other shit I don’t understand and was in education until 243 points

My sister got a full academic scholarship to some fancy full board private school (Christ's Hospital if you've heard of it) and she ended up leaving in her second year because she just could not fit in as a rough as arseholes working class lass with an Irish accent. Ended up bouncing round state schools, dropping out at 15 before going back to college to do her exams and still ended up getting in to Oxford (the only one in our family to go to Uni) Couldn't agree with your other post more pal2 points

I actually attended private school for a year when I was about 8 or 9 (don’t ask, one of my mothers airy fairy ideas) and I attended quiet a few ordinary state schools until 14 when they eventually aimed me out of the school system. I then in later life worked closely with schools in a support role as parent governor, reader, helper and generally being around helping anywhere I could. A lad who I went to school with became headmaster in my school after a career abroad teaching in Saudi and Dubai and his wife was a teacher at a local international school in Brentwood. I took these a couple of days ago with the Sigma 100-400mm,first impressions are positive anyway bud. I can't see much wrong with them anyway,I have had numerous Sigma lenses over the year's but none of their most recent from their Contemporary/Art or Sport selection until this one, like I said on a previous post to you they have really stepped up their game & their lenses are equal if not better than many of the so called bigger names ie: Canon,Nikon & Sony..good shout by you matey, hopefully anyone looking for an upgrade & or just starting out might be able to save themselves a few2 points

I recently moved to a gundog from terriers and lurchers and I'm enjoying getting out and about for a mooch with the pup but the way they work is completely different to what I'm used to, spaniels seem to run around for the sake of it where my borders could kind of head straight for the scent. I was trying to decide for ages wether to go for a lab, gwp or spaniel and ended up with a mental cocker that was a lovely chilled pup at first so he duped me. This was my first family dog so that swayed us towards the cocker and I probably should have got something calmer although the rest are all2 points

I've recently as in the last fortnight just bought a Sigma lens for a Canon camera bud,I watched numerous videos on YouTube regarding the lens & it seems to be a cracking lens, the one in question is the 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG,not the best lens in low light conditions but a F2.8 400mm lens which is good for low light will cost you about £15k lol. I purchased this one off the auction site in as good as new condition for £440 so I'll see how it goes,I also bought a 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 L series lens which is one of Canon's professional lenses being the L series but the newer mark 2 version of this2 points

I see that up at my woodland in Wales. When the pheasant poults are taken to the release pens , it's not unusual to see 20 to 30 , red kites, buzzards , and ravens , all circling together. Its quite an impressive thing to see. Took these pics yesterday at my woodland. 3 great tit chicks, and 7 pied flycatcher chicks. I've got about a dozen nest boxes, all with chicks in . I intend putting more up for next year.2 points
