Work with a lad who has a rally prepared one, mostly does hill trials with it I think. I remember the scrappies being full of them in the 80’s, you’d get 40 notes for them. Lucky if you could buy a shitey 1.3L for less than 10 grand now. If I only knew then what I do now ?

Didn’t want to sidetrack the 6 nations thread with this, but seems members of both Scotland and England teams elected not to ‘take the knee’ before yesterday’s game. Not seen anything about it in the media yet. Seems no-one has the balls to bring an end to this nonsense. I now can’t wait for crowds to return, and we can hear what the (up until then) silent majority have got to say about it all.

Cold, wet and windy here, has been for weeks. But spring is only weeks away now. Going to knock together a couple of nest boxes tomorrow, it’ll soon be that time again. As for all the nonsense on here, and especially the covid. I’ve been trying to avoid it, too much negativity from the usual suspects. I just reckon some are born to sit on the sidelines criticising all and sundry, and some just get on with the business in hand. The moaners have the loudest voice, cos that’s all they fcukin do, the others go quietly about making shit better. Brighter days are just around the corner, of that -

Aye, can be soul destroying in the early years of a loan. If you can afford to, think it’s a good idea to overpay your mortgage, even if it’s only a relatively small amount. Eats into the capital borrowed and makes a difference on the annual statement.

I’d like to think I’m no prude, but for me this kind of stuff shows the demise of what we once regarded in society as ‘decency’. Once there’s no shock value left in this, and it’s been totally normalised, then ask yourself, what’s next? I pity the kids.

Wore gutties mostly, but had segs in my some of my school shoes, although I wore docs a lot so none in them obviously. We all worked the milk vans (1980’s) and I remember a few times after finishing late I’d get changed and the driver would drop you at school so you’d not get into bother. Remember three of us hanging onto the backstep bar of an old BMC wagon, trailing a foot along the road, a shower of sparks flying behind us. Changed days.

He might not be all that he’s cracked up to be in the octagon, but he’s made a right few quid out of making out he is. And I’m sure I read he made $30m from fighting Mayweather, and has been offered more to box some guy off of Youtube. Maybe he should chuck the UFC and take up boxing full time ?

There’s still some good content on here. I’ve only been a member since 2013 so can’t say how much its declined since the halcyon days of yore..., but in ‘my time’ the General Section has been largely been dross, the type of inane nonsense men would have stood at a bar debating before pubs sadly became passé. Only difference is you don’t have to stand and listen to it if you don’t like it, just click on another thread and move on. The user names might have changed, but there’s the same mix of good and bad, interesting and dull, and the inevitable attention seeker thread wrecker types. As

I’ve had it since Tuesday night, and its fcukin nipping right now. Only the second time I’ve had it bad, last time was about three year ago. Spent the last two nights on the couch with an ice pack on it. I’m blaming it on a heavy intake of Guinness over the weekend, and lack of exercise due to working from home and the shitty weather over the last week. Hoping I’ll at least be able to put a sock on by the weekend ?No fun.

Brilliant thread this, and some cracking gear on show. Well played all. Kanny you’re not a fisherman, you’re an artist. Not sure I could put that much time and effort into making something, then losing it in a snag or up a tree. -
I do, if I’m aware he was a major contributor. And I refuse to listen to, or give any credit for the influence of the likes of Wacko Jacko, Pete Townsend etc. I’m certainly not coming on a public forum to laud his achievements. That’s like eulogising Fred West by saying he could lay a lovely patio, and ignoring the other ‘aspects’ of his life.
