  1. Dave Gilmour - Bird on the Wire Loving this version of a Cohen classic.
  2. They say “a woman’s work is never done”. Maybe that’s why they don’t get paid the same as men? And they reckon there are 3.8 billion women on this planet.., then why the fcuk isn’t it clean yet?
  3. Actually thought (hoped) the thread would be about wild dogs in Oz. Been watching vids on utube of a few guys shooting wild/feral dogs and cats. Think I’d like a go at that.
  4. Managed about 3 minutes until that voice broke me down. Reckon she wouldn’t need collies or acd’s to shift livestock if she just started talking in that nasal whine, they’d be right on the move. Good point re ‘issues’ she’s encountered with some of the breeds ‘habits’. Nothing new, but people complain about pastoral breeds nipping..., like it’s bad behaviour. But that is maybe a desired quality in a working animal, and so inherent in the dog’s design. Suppose the same applies to all purpose bred dogs. People shocked when their GSD bites the postman, or their bull breed wires into next door’s D
  5. He was nearly 100 and lived a lot longer than most, so hardly a shock or a tragedy. I’ll doff my hat to his military service, but that aside, the whole ‘duty’ bit? I reckon most of us will have worked harder and lived a much less privileged life..., and would swap with him in a heartbeat. Ironic too that his death has sparked an outpouring of fawning sycophancy, the likes of which I think the man himself would have had no truck with. But the worst yet, is giving air time to a man who has refused now, for a year, to cooperate with the FBI and answer questions in regard to the rape of a minor.
  6. I’ll bet that truncheon could tell a few stories. ‘Breaking the law’.., I should coco ?
  7. Agree. Takes a few too many punches for my liking though.
  8. See what you did there. Poor girl.
  9. Horse I backed, and the one she put on finished nowhere. My son picked the winner, and daughter’s horse was placed. £90 back from £50 bet, so better than nowt I suppose.
  10. A cockapoo to be exact. Just goes to show how easy it is to be fooled. If someone says it’s a cat, some will see just that. Identity of GMB 'big cat' revealed... meet Coco the Cockapoo WWW.WATFORDOBSERVER.CO.UK A mysterious animal that TV viewers feared was a wild 'big cat' has turned out to...
  11. Give Potters Corner a miss too, virtually guaranteed to fall at the first.
  12. Bit of women’s boxing on tonight troops, might be worth a look ?
  13. Kind of agree, but, unless we can mentally and/or physically torture these animals daily, like the pain the poor families suffer, then might as well just destroy them like you would a dog that bites. No reason why they should live and cost us another penny, if it doesn’t make the family feel any more like they’ve got ‘justice’. Maybe let the victim’s families decide the fate..., and even swing the axe? Fcuk knows as a father I think that’s the only way I’d feel like I’d got even close to justice.

Horse racing is utter horse shite, unless you have a cheeky wee bet on.., then it’s the most exciting thing in the world. That few seconds where you just stop breathing, watching your horse reel in the front runner with every stride to get up to nick it on the line must be the best feeling you can have without sticking a needle in your arm. I can totally see why people get addicted to it and lose everything they have. Me, I stick a few quid on every now and again, but always fear that if I got too genned up, I could be one of those who blows their whole whack at the bookies. As for Saturd
  15. Dusting of snow on the ground this morning. Geese can’t make their minds up whether to fly North or head South again. Swallows...!!! ?
  16. I could have written almost the same words for mine. We tended to skip some of the arty farty stuff and concentrated on the ‘3 R’s’. If you’ve done the best you can, then that’s all we can do mate. Atb, Pesky.
  17. Maybe not ‘enjoy’, but I certainly look forward to seeing what level of bat-shit she’ll be on.., and probably how much she’s going to have out on display ?
  18. I agree, and I think schools are improving on this as well. My eldest is going into her exam year (S4 here) at high school. She’s been offered a whole host of part-time courses to take at the local college now.., most of which are aimed at kids who’ll be leaving school at the earliest opportunity (summer 2022), and without many qualifications. Think that’s a positive step.., and allows kids to begin to prepare for getting into work when they leave school.
  19. Thix.., thix thix, the number of the beast ?
  20. Not my cup of tea friend, I’m 100% heterosexual. And listen, apologies for digging you out on your diction and spelling.., your (not you’re ?) input to a thread on education is as valid as the next man’s..., even if you’re (not your ?) a total arsehole.
  21. I said attend school and behave. Pretty much the same thing as your “listen, be polite”? Totally agree that we should all encourage independent thinking in young people. I think critical thinking and problem solving is much more entrenched in modern education than the ‘parrot fashion’ I learned stuff years ago. I have a habit of asking both mine over the dinner table what they learned at school that day. And certainly on social subjects, I’ll ask what they thought about what they were being taught. Most of the time they pull a face and fcuk me off, but we’ve had a few good discussions too
  22. That’s not very Christian of you, on the Sabbath and a day of celebration. Beannachtaí na Cásca ort. Peace be with you.
  23. First in with the insults and profanity Francie. Well done. I agree that (most) parents aren’t teachers, but as we’ve already seen in this thread, most have a go and are quite resourceful in finding practical ways to teach their kids all sorts. The obligation I think ALL parents do have though is, to make sure their kids attend school, and that they behave when they are there. Many parents fail on that score. PS. It’s spelled believe (‘I’ before ‘E’ etc.)..., and it’s ‘you’re’ at tit, not ‘your’ a tit. Giving you a D- Must try harder.
