There’s an unceasing wind, that blows through this night..., and there’s dust in my eyes, that blinds my sight. There’s a silence that speaks so much louder than words, of promises broken.
-
That’s it. Can’t remember what I had for lunch today, but I remember a picture I saw in a book nearly forty year ago. Great to see it again, so thanks very much for that ?
-
One very scary guy..., think it’s the Dolph Lungren haircut more than the ‘duster’ though ? His ‘crew’ look like a bunch of misfits and bullied kids turned wannabe gangsters.
-
Probably haven’t seen it for over 30 years. I had to chuck it after I had a scrap with my brother and he drew cocks and tits on all the birds, and changed their names to things like knob warbler, great tits, mallard fcuk, redwank etc. Was I right about the Hobby chasing the Swift?
-
Found a clip of one. Stunning, looks hard graft for the falcon.
-
Only my opinion, but it could have been a Hobby. Your query took me back over 40 years to the first bird book I ever owned. I’m sure the illustration of a Hobby (no photos back then ?) showed it chasing a Swift. Don’t have the book now, but it was this one.

Watched two crows chase and kill a young starling yesterday. Rooftops round me there’s plenty crows, magpies and gulls on the look out for fledglings. It’s just nature’s way..., still it’d be nice to see them, especially the magpies, thinned out a bit. Number of magpies round here, like the woodies too, are nearly at plague proportions. High time we started giving kids back their air rifles.

Guitar. All I can play is three chords and the truth.

I bet it’s black though, they’re always black cats ?

You’re a f***ing idiot.

Yes. The act of sitting on a rock alone in the middle of nowhere harms no-one, just as having a bbq on an empty beach, or sitting in an empty pub harms no-one. The problem is the selfish cnuts who think that it’s okay for them to do it.. because no-one else is. I mean this, I would welcome the army on the street right now battering the shite out of all the selfish b*****ds taking the piss.

I remember many moons ago it was Satans Slaves that would rock up from time to time. Dirty looking fcukers, that you’d give a wide berth to, even if just for that. Thought all that biker gangs was a thing of the past, although I did see a thing about Blue Angels a while back. Like most I thought it would’ve been bankers and lawyers doing a bit of role play for a weekend hobby. Just googled them, and it seems they’re still going at it, with one getting a 7 year stretch this month for assault and attempted ? Who knew? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Angels_Motorcycle_Club

Just switched it on, Lenny Henry, Davina MaCall and now Sam Smith fcukin yodelling away ? The boy Smith wants to self isolate a bit further away from the fridge too imo!

The Lost Soul of Eamonn Magee & Skag Boys - Irvine Welsh. Got Fury’s book and A Confederacy of Dunces up next, for when I get a minute to sit down?

I agree, it’s a balancing act no doubt, but even with the measures now in place we’re on course for 2k+ deaths per day within a week, and the NHS likely to reach breaking point very soon. ‘Herd immunity’ has become almost a taboo subject now, as it requires acceptance that some have to die to achieve it. But without a vaccine what other option is there? We can’t all hide in our houses forever. It’s all about a controlled burn through the population, I think we may be in and out of lockdown for a year or more.

I could hear the old ‘Hovis’ music in my head as I read that ? Watched a few of old Fred Dibnah’s videos (again) last night, made me nostalgic for those ‘simpler’ times. Wonder what the kids of today will look back one day and lament the loss of.

Probably hanging round St Thomas’ hospital waiting on the BoJo scoop.

As been said, bit of cabin fever. My routine is gubbed and so sleep is all over the place too. Another forgettable day of ‘working’ from home with kids and missus driving me up the wall. Glad I read this thread though, as now I know what ‘troilism’ means (not that I’m likely ever get a crack at it now) so at least I’ve accomplished something today. Stay safe and maybe lay off the cheese before bedtime ?

You can’t get away with it. It was a joke and it was funny, but if you’re an elite level sportsman you can’t put stuff like this on an open forum viewed by millions and not expect a few people to take offence, joke or not. That’s just how it is. As we’ve seen before, Saunders is just too fcukin daft to realise it and refuses to learn.

Watched the documentary film about Maradona the other day. Was a decent watch, but the thing that struck me was how go he could and should have been. I know he’s not exactly liked in England, but his fall from grace in Italy was nuts. Nothing to do with the documentary but I love this little warm up....., genius ️

Lock down imminent. Vulnerable people need saving from these reckless and selfish b*****ds who are just wilfully ignoring advice.

Not massively. I think my chances of surviving it are pretty decent and I’d have a go at it now. In order to see it off, most of us will have to get it at some point anyway (assuming you can’t catch it twice). Maybe in addition to quarantine, we should be carrying out controlled infection of those least likely to require hospitalisation so as to build up and accelerate immunity in the population?Take the fight to the filthy little fcuker ?

No doubt this is the biggest crisis the world has faced, maybe in living memory. No doubt it’ll show the best and worst sides of humanity. I find it hilarious that so many people think they can strategise the best response to this disease, when a fortnight ago they couldn’t tell you what epidemiology meant. Party politics means nothing, and I for one have faith in BoJo and his ability to seek the best scientists this country has to guide us, and act without being swayed by the Twitter medics or following like sheep our neighbouring countries actions. Panic and fear will lead to mistakes.

Went to Tesco at 6.20 this morning to get milk for the kids’ cereal. Was like Christmas Eve, all the tills open and queues of people with trolleys stacked full of shit. I do not fcukin understand. This disease kills old people. The rest of us will, at worst, be laid up for a few days, and then quarantined for a few more. The world isn’t coming to an end. Any shortage of food and essential supplies is entirely self inflicted. I think it’s time we had vigilante mobs patrolling supermarket car parks, beating the living shite out of any individual carrying so much as a family sized bag
